Waterfront

Cottage is on a semi-private beach where there's great swimming when the tide is in and wonderful walking on the sandflats when the tide is out. The beach changes every year and there's usually seaweed and some rocks as you enter so you may want to bring beach shoes which you can then leave on the beach as you continue your walk on the sandflats. Cottage has 3 bedrooms, four piece bathroom, outdoor shower, screened-in porch, large entranceway/hallway and combined living room/kitchen area. Master bedroom has a queen size bed, rocking chair, antique wardrobe, desk and library; other bedrooms have double bunk beds with guard rails on the upper bunks.

There's a gas barbeque, chairs, coffee table and rocking chair on the screened in porch. Living room area has an airtight woodstove, couches, coffee tables and chair. Kitchen area has table, chairs, pine cupboards, fridge/freezer, stove, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, kettle, dishes, cutlery, pots, pans and breadbox. We provide bedding and towels so all you need to bring is your food, toiletries and anything special you might need. There is also a library in the cottage in case you forgot your book or want to read a different one.

The owners live close by and have a couple of kayaks which they share with cottagers who like to kayak with the seals off the point - or just go for a quiet paddle on their own. Golf courses are in Amherst(20 mins), Pugwash(30 mins), Springhill(45 mins) and Sackville, N.B(30 mins) and are easily accessible. The Bay of Fundy and Joggins Fossil Cliffs/UNESCO site are about a 45 minute drive and the cottage is centrally located so that you can easily visit the provinces of New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island for day trips. Halifax airport is a two hour drive and Moncton airport is an hour's drive.

The cottage is cozy but spacious, and felt like home immediately. We used the fire pit almost every night and the hammock was also well used! The kayaks were also great to have access to. My daughter was followed by seals as she paddled! In fact a seal came quite close when we were out swimming too. The beach is great for finding hermit crabs, and seeing herons and all sorts of wildlife (even a deer on our last morning), though it has it's mucky spots. Swimming is good at high tide. It's a short drive to Northport Prov park, for a walk on the endless red sand bars. Donna and Jim are warm and welcoming, there if you need them but also giving you privacy. It was a wonderful vacation!

Thanks Vanda and it was wonderful to have you and your family as neighbors for a week! So glad you experienced paddling with the seals and especially swimming with them as that is not as frequent. Also thank you for checking in on us after Hurricane Fiona who was very angry as she stormed through here. Fortunately the cottage and house, and more importantly Jim and I, were not harmed but we will be cleaning up the damage to the trees for months - gotta count our blessings as so many are worse off. Take care, enjoy your winter and hope to see you again, Donna

Such a lovely cottage and owners! Great for nature and enjoying the sand flats or as a place from which to do day trips easily in NB, NS or PEI.
All our kids had a great time and didn't miss a TV at all. Donna is such a great host and was available for any questions and to ensure we had what we needed while also giving us lots of privacy, plus she is a great baker!
The cottage itself is great, has all the essentials while still retaining that wonderful cottage feel. Would love to stay here again if we didn't live so far away. Highly recommended!

Thanks so much David for your wonderful review! It was great having you and your family for three weeks and, as mentioned to you and Laura, your kids are wonderful - so polite, friendly and curious. Also want to thank you for respecting our privacy as well and leaving the cottage so clean and tidy - much appreciated! You are welcomed back any time but it is a hike for sure - take care and hope you all stay healthy and happy and enjoy the fall season that is fast approaching, Donna

If you want somewhere that you can just sit and relax this is the place for you. We couldn't get over how quite it is. Just so peaceful. Our 8 year old loved the Sand Flats and looking at all the different sea life. Great for hunting sea glass and shells. The owners were great and the hot out of the oven muffins they brought us were so unexpected and very delicious. The picture doesn't do this cabin and Justice. They have everything you need. All you have to bring is your suitcase and toiletries. We cannot wait to book again and go back. This is a great place to unplug and unwind. Great for couples, family or friends just to be together. They don't have a tv but in all honesty my son didn't miss it. If you are thinking of booking here do it. You will not be disappointed.

Thanks so much Sarah for your wonderful review - much appreciated! It was so enjoyable to watch your son enjoying the sand flats, using the net to catch minnows and collecting shells and overall enjoying himself and not missing the TV. Glad you found some sea glass and look forward to seeing you again whenever you're ready. Take care, stay safe and enjoy your summer.

Our three days at the cottage were so relaxing! Although Donna and Jim live right next door (so handy when we needed the kayak paddle, and we got a morning muffin delivery!), the cottage is very private. We went walking at low tide and kayaking at high, although it's still very shallow when the tide is in. While the WiFi is faint, the cell signal is strong and we even streamed a few shows using a phone as hotspot. The only sore spot (pun intended!) was that our spolied city-folk backs needed some adjustment from extra pillows to be comfortable in the Queen bed. I had already recommended the place to a friend even before we headed home! Thanks for the perfect getaway.

Thanks Julie and you're so very welcome! So glad you enjoyed your stay and thanks for recommending our cottage to a friend! I should have mentioned that there were extra pillows in the wardrobe in the master bedroom if you needed them, but too late now and hope the 'sore spot' is short lived. You were great guests to have in the cottage and are welcomed back anytime - enjoy the rest of your summer! Donna

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Willet Point. The cottage was spotless and Donna and Jim were fantastic hosts who couldn't have possibly done more to make us comfortable. Five stars to our hosts and thanks for the muffins and our very own fire starter Jim who did a great job of making sure we were warm. We truly felt that we were staying with friends.
The cottage was close to an excellent restaurant, Le Chat Bleu and to Canada's best ice cream at Truman farms.
Morning coffee by the ocean was the best.. Thanks again Donna and Jim

Thanks Sandra and David and so glad you enjoyed your stay! It was wonderful to meet you both and a pleasure to see you in the mornings enjoying your coffee at the beach. Also thank you for leaving the cottage 'spotless' after you left - it seemed as if nobody was even there! Take care of yourselves, winter well and hope our paths will cross again, Donna and Jim
