Top 10 September-October Must-Do's at 'Jack Pine Escape' on Crane Lake
1 - Stoke the fire in the woodstove to lift the morning crisp.
2 - Paddle all 23 Bays of Crane Lake and choose your favorite blend of red, orange and yellow landscape to photograph.
3 - Silently watch a stalking Great Blue Heron as she lunges for a late-season lunch.
4 - Listen to the breeze-induced rustle of the falling leaves.
5 - Stroll the quiet cottage roads looking for a slinking fox, a squawking turkey or a grazing grouse.
6 - Go for a late afternoon skinny dip. Do it, do it. No one is watching.
7 - Witness a 'raft' of Great Northern Loons preparing to leave their summer home.
8 - Have a candle lit dinner and take in the full moon rising through the island Jack Pine treetops.
9 - Read the book you've been putting off, pausing only to notice how clean the air smells and how quiet it is.
10 - Feel the radiating heat and crackling fire as the woodstove fills the cottage with dancing shadows and warmth before bedtime.

Gorgeous cottage with great views of the lake!! We had a great week, caught some big ones, large mouth bass, right off the dock!! The resident chipmunks were so cute, eating peanuts right from your hand!! Thanks, we also got our cardio for the week with the stairs down to the cottage/lake :D

We stayed here for 3 nights in September while my parents visited from Ireland.
The cottage was in pristine condition and the view of the lake from the window is amazing.
The deck area and steps down to the lake are very picturesque.
It's very nice to canoe or kayak around the little islands on Crane Lake too.
Pete was very easy to deal with and extremely helpful with any questions we had.
Will definitely be coming back in 2020!

Many thanks to you for being so amazing Pete! We had such a great time there. Everything was provided for us. Sunday has to be the BEST sleep I had in years. I can stare at the lake all day. What a view! Its so peaceful and calm. Looking forward to visiting again in the near future. Best Cottage I have ever stayed at.

This is the second time we have been to Jack Pine Escape, and once again, it exceeded our expectations. The cottage is immaculate - rustic touches yet filled with the convenience of modern amenities. Sunshine or rain, Jack Pine Escape is just that - an escape; a place of relaxation and serenity from the Monday to Friday life. We would highly recommend this cottage and hope to be back soon!
