Starting October 1, 2024 due to very restrictive short term rental bylaws implemented by our township we will be renting on a 29 day basis. Please see our rates tab for details.

The Escape is a 1,000 sq. foot, 3 bedroom cottage on beautiful Paudash Lake in Joe Bay. Westerly exposure for amazing sunset views with 225 feet of lake frontage. On a quiet side road that is child and pet friendly and great for cycling or walking, but easy access off Hwy 28. Very private 1/2 acre lot, cannot see neighbours on either side or across the road.

Paudash Lake is only 2.5 hours north of the GTA. 15 minutes from beautiful Bancroft and Apsley with all amenities. (Gas, grocery, LCBO, Beer, Shopper's Drug Mart, Tim Hortons, Canadian Tire) Bancroft is the Mineral Capital of Canada (Check out the annual Gemboree on August long weekend) and also Ontario's Most Talented Town. The Township of Highlands East is the Geocaching Capital of Canada.

The road is connected to the four wheeler and Paudash Trailblazers OFSC snowmobile trails. 2 minutes to Silent Lake Provincial Park with hiking, cross country ski trails, and biking trails. 1 hour from Algonquin Park.

Large open concept living and dining area with cathedral ceiling and amazing views of the lake. Living room glass doors open to a large deck ideal for relaxing and barbequing. Stairs off the deck lead to a set of 6 stone stairs down to the lower level of the property. It is 10 stone steps down to the dock.

Payment is email money transfer only. Paypal accepted with an additional fee.

25% payment due upon reservation, remainder of payment due 30 days before date of arrival. Any reservations within 30 days are full payment due at time of reservation.

Also, a security deposit of $500 is required by email money transfer. Fully refundable with confirmation of No Damage within 48 hours of check out.

All cancellations must be received in writing to the email address sandra-mcgrath@hotmail.com. In the event that a guest cancels a reservation, or the owners have to cancel the arrangements due to non-payment of the balance due, cancellation charges will be made as follows: More than 30 days before arrival date: $150 administrative fee; Between 30 to 14 days before arrival date: 50% of rental amount; 13 days to date of arrival including no shows: no refund.

This is a place that I will come to review over and over again. I found O'Malleys escape back in 2017 when looking to get away to the lake with a few friends from the city. I could've never imagined I'd still be returning year after year and arriving 2023 with my husband and our twins marking a beautiful 6 years working with Sandra. The incredible views and wildlife open up our drive to Paudash Lake, walking in and feeling like you're at home immediately. It steals our heart when we get to call the cottage home for a week. The property is incredible with so much private space to enjoy. The cottage is beyond equipped for what is needed, with so much to do and experience. The added bonus of Bancroft being so accessible for essentials and fun attractions. We enjoyed every second and we look forward to spending year 7,8- and beyond watching our twins grow and love such a special place we call home in the summer. Don't think twice about booking.

My family and I have stayed at the O'Malleys three times, and it has been nothing short of amazing. To start the cottage itself is beautiful and gives such a homey feel. They have dvds, books, board games, and fun old-school classic games like Twister, which my son loves to play! The cottage is also very well maintained, and they continue to do improvements each year, which is really nice to see their hard work and dedication in making things better for their guests. The outdoor space is also very well maintained and enjoyable. There is a big and beautiful fire pit, canoes and kayaks, and a large deck over looking the lake. There are also many activities close by as well, a beach, hiking trail, golfing, etc. I think what really makes the O'Malleys stand out aside from their beautifully maintained cottage is the location. It is very secluded, seldom will you ever hear or see anyone, which truly allows you to escape and connect with nature and loved ones. The mornings are so beautiful, and the lake is absolutely breathtaking. This is definitely the highlight of the year for my family and I, and we look forward to going back each year. Thank you, Sandra and Mark, for allowing my family to create such beautiful memories that will last us a lifetime.

We have stayed at O'malleys twice now and have loved every minute of it.
The cottage has everything you can ask for, its always clean and well kept.
The cottage is perfect for our family, we love Paudash lake and the area is beautiful to walk with our dogs.

WOW! I have rented quite a few cottages but this has to be up there with the nicest one I've been to also couldn't ask for nicer hosts. You have all the amenities you will ever need, barbeque, bathroom with shower (hot water), stove, fridge, 4 bunk beds and 2 queen size beds, 3 full bedrooms, satellite TV was a nice touch. Heat works great in the whole cottage as well. Exceptional price for what you get ! Right on the water, private lot good access to the water. Overall 10/10 would rent again!

What a beautiful place to stay! It truly was heaven! Super sweet cottage, modern style and super clean. I was thankful for the satellite as it poured rain the days I was visiting. It was really private as well, which was what I was looking for. There is a pretty steep driveway, which sent me for a turn initially, but my focus was still able to handle it (phew!).....just an fyi of course...definitely not a criticism. Pretty rocky area so make sure you are wearing your hikers! The smell of pine trees as you step outside was delightful. Just simply a gorgeous area. I hope to visit again. Thanks Sandra.
