I stayed here with my fiancé from May 8th to May 10th and it was a very nice place. Loved the beach and fire pit as well as the many water craft available to go on the water with. The owner was very kind and responsive. I originally rented a different cottage from Beth, but she had forgotten that our particular weekend was not available due to some work on the building. She instead gave us this cottage for the same price as her other one due to the inconvenience! Solid customer service, would definitely rent from her again!

Our weekend was unfortunately plagued with record setting low temperatures, and therefore we kept off the water due to the cold. It never got much warmer than 5 Celsius. We were still able to enjoy some nice barbecued meals and use the fire pit one night. Due to this cold though, the inside of the cottage was quite cold, even with the baseboard heaters set to high. The cottage is not at fault though, we just happened to have a bit of bad luck with the weather.

Would recommend this cottage for any small group of people.

Our family had a wonderful time staying at Loon Lake. We booked the location and dates to see the leaves in the fall and spend some family time together. The cottage was perfect for our family of six. It was well located close to town and all the preparations were well communicated by the owners. Our plan is to return next year at the same time and hopefully visit the cranberry festival. Thank you for such a great stay!!

The cottage and property were extremely well cared for. There was all day sun and great fishing. Our family did day trips to Bala and went on the Winona for the afternoon on Lake Muskoka. Our kids spent hours playing on the beach and exploring the woods. Gravenhurst had some good restaurants and a waterski show on Wednesday evening which my boys thoroughly enjoyed. The cottage was very well laid-out and very comfortable with a through breeze perfect in summer. We will definitely be booking again!

We loved our stay at this cottage! The location is ideal. On a quiet lake, but within close driving distance to Gravenhurst to buy groceries or to play at a park or splash pad. Visiting the Gravenhurst summer market was a highlight.
The sandy beach with shallow entry was great for our children to feel comfortable in the water.
Rental instructions were clear and straightforward, and communication from the owner was friendly and prompt. We enjoyed it so much last summer that we'll be back again this year.

The photos depict a cute cottage but definitely not worth the peak season price.
Here's why:
1. Location is in a shady part of the lake so there's not much direct sun.
2. The BBQ was really grungy and unsanitary so we took our steaks back home.
3. The steering on the paddle boat didn't work.
4. Couldn't use the canoe as the oars were broken, splintered and unusable.
5. Both bathroom sinks are minuscule.
6. When turning on the downstairs bedroom ceiling fan, it rumbles like a 747 in the upstairs bedroom and disrupts your sleep.

Owner response:
You can see that this review does not align with our other reviews of 5 out of 5. This renter had to be removed from the cottage at the end of her stay and was not invited back to rent from us for a second summer. This was an unfortunate situation. We have been renting Loon Lake for years and have had minimal issues and we have rented to so many amazing people who treat our place with respect, unfortunately, this renter was the anomaly. We take so much pride in our cottage and how clean it is and that it is maintained to the highest standard. Please disregard this review.
