This cottage and its grounds are a little piece of heaven. Here are all the necessities and pleasures to make wonderful summertime memories. Nestled amongst birch trees and rock, you can swim, boat, enjoy a fire on the point or just relax on either of the decks.
The huge kitchen is fully equipped for meal preparation, and with the dishwasher it makes the clean up easy, giving more time to relax with the family. There is table seating for 6 at the antique wood table. Water is from the lake, and although it is UV filtered, you should bring bottled water to drink. An added feature just off the kitchen is a washer and dryer. The barbeque is on the deck where you can enjoy the panoramic view of the gardens and the lake while you grill your dinner.
There are two living rooms, great for kids who want their own space. The first living room, viewed upon entering the cottage has seating for four and a great view of the lake. The second is off the kitchen, and has comfortable seating for 6 - 8, satellite television and a propane fireplace. Cell phones work. Internet and WIFI are available to the public at the Summerland General Store 10 minutes down the road.
There are two bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed and a single bed; and the other has bunk beds, double on the bottom, single on top. The bathroom is a three-piece with a shower; there is no bath tub.
At the waterfront the one-room Bunkie has a double bed and single bunks, two couches, ceiling fan and satellite television. The youngsters will love having a cool retreat to get away from the adults! There is another 30 X 20 ft. deck at the Bunkie and stairs that lead down to the 10 X 20 ft. dock. This deck gets a mix of sun and shade and the dock gets sun most of the day. The depth of the water is four to five feet at the end of the dock. A boat up to 18' can be kept at the dock. Riley Lake is great for boating and fishing.
With a frontage of 400+ feet, the property affords the utmost privacy. The lakefront area is level with a beautiful sandy beach and gradual entry. The bottom is sandy, with no weeds or rocks. The fire pit and a platform with two Muskoka chairs are just to the right of the beach and up a small rock hill. Here you can enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail with the beautiful view.

REVIEWS | Richard | |
| Where do I start...we found this little gem two seasons ago and fell in love with it immediately...Riley Lake is one of the areas smaller lakes but there is still loads of water space to canoe...ski...knee board...tube and fish in...the cottage stands back in the trees with unrestrictive views of the lake...it boasts a sandy beach and a dock which benefits from the sun for most of the day...the accommodation is suberb and extremely well equipped...our only mistake was to bring too many clothes because with excellent laundry facilities we could have easily travelled much lighter...the lake temperature was ideal and perfect for a cool down when 'things' got a little too hot...on this trip we hired a Sea-doo from Northern Boat Hire Gravenhurst which allowed us to access the southern creek in the early evenings to watched beavers go about their business...much to their innoyance!! As I sit here at Pearson Airport ready to return to the UK I can only reflect on another wonderful stay at this beautiful little cottage in the trees and hope...yes hope...that we will one day return...clearly I would recommend it...
