| We had such a pleasant stay at the Yellow Dacha. We were 2 adults and 2 children and we stayed 3 nights. Great communication with the owners prior to arriving. They showed some flexibility, really easy to deal with.
The cottage is nicely located, about an 8-9 minute drive from Sandbanks. It is not directly on the water but there is a deeded access to lake Ontario which is about a 5 minute walk. Very quiet. There are neighbors on both side but with the vegetation and trees around, you almost feel as if you are alone. The cottage was extremely clean and very well equiped and organized! Well decorated also, very charming. And you can see that the cottage was well maintained over time. There are fans in every room and an air conditioner for the loft upstairs (thank god!).
For families with children, there are no children accessories in the cottage but that's no big deal. The cottage is still appropriate for children. It's a flat surface outside and there is plenty of space to play and it's in a very low traffic area. The backyard has a treehouse with 2 picnic tables and plenty of chairs with a fire pit. But you should still bring toys, games, books to keep your children entertained.
The only flaw and it's a minor one is during some evening we could hear music coming from either the campground located not too far or from the Hayloft dance hall down the street. So if you like to sleep with the windows open, you may occasional hear the music when there are events booked.
