Look no further! Stop right here. This is the cottage for you!

It all started with a nice elongated driveway that brought you down to the cottage surrounded by trees and nature. You step out of your car and instantly feel peace and serenity as you look out to the calm water filled with mini islands for your viewing pleasure and for you to explore. While standing outside you are elevated from the water which makes you feel like you are on top of the world. Once you make your way inside, the experience only gets better. The entire vault ceiling open concept is filled with windows that all open. It is like camping but with all the amenities of home! The kitchen is fantastic! You get to cook while looking over the lake. What could be better than that? The beds are extremely comfortable as well as the couch in the living area. It was all very clean and organized which was great! We may not have used the bunkie but it was a fantastic bonus that I am sure you will enjoy. The most important thing they offered was an all inclusive stay. The only things you need are your food and clothes. Absolutely everything else is provided for you!! They even included around 100 movies for you to watch! It was also very private, which was important to my family.

Lastly, Suzanne was very courteous, kind and quick to respond to any questions we had.

We will definitely come back to the tipsy canoe. A very big thanks from my family to you :)

We stayed at the cottage in August 2019. The hosts made us feel very welcome. It was very clean and organized. The property had all of the essentials of a home and more! Our children spent hours on the water trampoline and in the kayak. The lake was quiet and the location on the water was perfect. Dealing with Suzanne was easy and a delight, as she answered all of our questions promptly and the rental was a breeze. We had a great time and would be happy to return!

"Tipsy Canoe Cottage" - what a fabulous find! Our family of 3 adults and 1 teen thoroughly enjoyed our awesome stay at this beautiful cottage. The online photos don't do it justice, it is even more impressive in real life. It is spacious ( including the great bunkie ), comfortable, beautifully maintained and equipped with everything you could possibly need, even a dishwasher and air-conditioning! The supplied linens and towels were a much appreciated added bonus. We loved spending most of our time either on the dock or in the crystal, clear water. The water trampoline provided hours of entertainment as did exploring gorgeous Catchacoma Lake from the canoe and kayak. Our daily visitors included loons, a blue heron and a couple of pileated woodpeckers. The highlight of the week was the bounty of trophy size bass caught right off the dock! It was indeed a pleasure dealing with the cottage owners Suzanne & Steve. They responded quickly to our many queries and were always very thoughtful and accommodating. We are already looking forward to returning next summer!

What a gorgeous cottage! We rented Tipsy Canoe for the best weather week of the whole year. Seven days, six nights of perfect weather in a lovely setting.

The cottage was very roomy for just four of us. It would comfortably sleep 8. The cottage is very well maintained, was spotlesssly clean and very nicely furnished. The grounds were kept very nicely and all the outside furniture and water equipment were in excellent condition. One of the things I liked best was that the kitchen was very well-stocked. Lots and lots of plates, bowls, glasses, serving plates, cooking dishes, pots, pans....I could go on. We cooked so many things and had everything we needed.

It's a wonderful drive from Toronto. Close enough, but also far enough! The cottage itself is very close to the road, which makes it incredibly Easy to find, but it also means that you can hear traffic from the highway. It wasn't overly loud, but if you want to feel like you're lost in the wilderness, you may have to tune out a little ambient noise (mostly just at morning rush hour).

We fished the lake every day (we brought our own motorboat) and caught mostly bass. You could fish off the dock if you were so inclined. The lake is lovely and the dock affords easy entrance if you want to swim. The water trampoline is in excellent condition. My favourite water activity was the one-person kayak.

Tipsy Canoe was the loveliest cottage experience I've ever had. Our sincere thanks to Suzanne and her family!

We had an amazing time at the Tipsy Canoe! Our family (2 boys, mom and dad, and various in-laws) enjoyed every aspect of the cottage. The terrain around the cottage can get slick when wet, and it's a bit of an adventure to get down to the dock, but all in all an amazing time with great hosts! Clean, organized, policies/rules well laid out. Love the movie selection! Comfy beds for all and can't get better than a sunset paddle in the canoe.
Gotta be honest, the water has a unique smell but is drinkable and certainly not the "fault" of the owners....just a nice to know. I can now say I know how to cook over charcoal - not a skill I had prior to staying at the Tipsy Canoe!
Thanks Suzanne and family for the opportunity to stay at your cottage!

Owner response:
Thanks for your review Joanne, we're glad that you had a good visit and we hope your family returns in the future!

Appreciate your comments and we agree, the path to the dock does require some steady footing, and as my husband and I get older we can certainly benefit from a gentler grade. To that end, we will be looking at solutions to make it an easier trek.

We are on well water, it is a very deep well and is susceptible to hydrogen sulphite, which when heated can release an odour, but is not a health risk. We do have the water tested regularly and it is safe to drink.

Enjoy the rest of your summer. Cheers! Suzanne
