Waterfront

Sweet Cottage on Crowe River, Trent Hills. Beautifully decorated, with an amazing view and a private waterfront area with a private deck, this cottage is perfect for a relaxing family vacation. In the summer the river is shallow enough to let your kids play in the water with no fear and same time is deep enough for boats, kayaks, pedalos and etc. The Crowe River is a long river that flows through a variety of terrain including secluded forested areas to urban settlements. Traveling south through the Crowe Valley from Lower Paudash lake down to the Trent River system. There are good canoe routes established. On another hand Crow River is famous with it's crystal clear water and variety of fish - smallmouth and largemouth bass as well as an occasional pike or walleye and other smaller fish can be caught.
The cottage can accommodate 9 people - 1 bedroom with king-size bed, 2 - double bed, 3 - double + single bunk bed and full-size extendable sofa in the sunroom. 1 bathroom. Pet friendly.

Perfect week of relaxing in a peaceful environment. The cottage was perfect for us as a family and our dog. The cottage was private, clean, comfortable king bed in the main bedroom, double futon in second bedroom and bunk beds in the third bedroom with a double on the bottom. Very big deck with awning at one end, with sun on most of the day. A bathroom with a tub to bathe your little one in. The water depth and temperature is perfect for kids and of course the adults just to lounge in. Further out it gets deeper and perfect for swimming. The water is very clear with a rock bottom, so no squishy mud between your toes. We saw fish, crawfish, lots of dragonflies and one cute muskrat. There is a very large old oak tree that provides shade on half of the property in the afternoon. We opted for the central air conditioning which kept us comfortable for sleeping at night, although the cottage would have been fine without it. Lots of kitchen counter space with a large dining table indoors and patio table outdoors. A nice large fire pit for the evening because what is a vacation without a campfire an smores. Campbellford is a cute town to wander and only 13 minutes away. The only thing we did not use was the dock as the water level was over it for part of our week and it is small. Note this part of Crowe River is perfect if you have your own kayaks, paddle boards or canoe. Owner very responsive to any questions you may have.

Thank you Janine! You've been excellent tenants too and I'm happy you had a great time!

Seven people and two dogs stayed for a week. The cottage had enough room for everyone. The yard is a good size with a nice fire pit. When out kayaking, we could see turtles sunning themselves along the riverbank. There were frogs for the children to catch not far upstream. Kids enjoyed fishing off the dock. The water is shallow by the cottage and gets deeper a little further out. We really enjoyed our time there and communication with the owners was great. Thank you.

Thank you Sam! You are always welcome, I could call you friends already!

My family and I stayed at this cottage for a summer vacation in July. The cottage was absolutely perfect, the property is beautiful. Our girls loved fishing off the dock and we made many wonderful memories during our stay. The owner is very responsive and gave us every detail we could possibly need before our arrival. We will definitely be returning :)

Thank you Nicole, I'm so happy you had a lot of fun at our cottage! You will be always welcome to come back. I put the wonderful picture you sent me in the photo section, so everybody can enjoy it! :)

4 ladies stayed for a week. It was ok, all the beds were very uncomfortable. Was not aware that there was no firewood so had to goto town to get some. Was not aware that there was a public beach beside it!!! Which was not too good as people came over on the beach property!!! The water was nice and shallow can put your chair in and relax!! All in all we made the best of it

Owner response:
I'm sorry you didn't have the best experience. However I provided a lot of information in my last email, including about the firewood - if you wanted to use the firepit, where could you find it. I guess you haven't read it. As for the "public beach" comment, I'm not sure what you mean and we have no control over who will decide to swim as the river is not private property.
