The Beach House on the Dunes is a beach lover's dream... From the spacious backyard you can access your very own private white sand beach, pull up some chairs and enjoy the sound of the waves and the peaceful cry of seagulls. Or if you're feeling inspired, you can start a 12 km long stroll onto the world-famous Dunes of Bouctouche, perhaps stopping along the way to enjoy a swim in the warm salt water of the Northumberland Strait. PLUS: Newly added screened gazebo in 2021. Indulge in locally sourced seafood while you are here: the lobster's amazing! Have it right in your back yard while taking in the best view around. Later, relax on your peaceful private terrace while admiring the windmills of PEI across the water. The Beach House on the Dunes is a two level, open concept, 2010 built home with all the amenities you'll need for a relaxing beach-side vacation. It has ample storage with two closets for storage in the spacious front entrance, a walk in pantry and lots of space in the solid wood cabinets around the kitchen and in the island. Enjoy dinner at your rustic harvest table that seats 8, or pull up a stool at the island for some casual drinks. After dinner, gather around in the main living room to watch the seagulls and fishing vessels over the water as the sun disappears for the evening. Or hide away in the nearby reading nook on the brand new sectional sofa that opens up into a queen-sized bed. If this is a romantic getaway, or you've had enough socializing, retreat to the second level master bedroom and spend some quiet time counting stars in front of the large bay window before retiring in the king-size brass bed. The Beach House has lots of room for the kids, no matter their ages. The downstairs kids' room has bunk beds (double-twin combo), and room for another cot if needed. We added a small bedroom upstairs with a double bed in 2022. Other kids may want to claim their spot on the reading nook sofa-bed for a quiet place away from siblings.
The spacious main floor bath has a full tub/shower combo and stacked washer and dryer for the convenience of a busy family. It has storage shelves for all your toiletries and loads of beach towels for the entire family.
Summer is a super-fun time in the Bouctouche area. There is always something to do: If you enjoy hiking or cycling, there are great trails right across the street starting at the Irving Eco-centre.
There are also superb kayaking excursions available right along Bouctouche Bay. If you are into faster toys, you can rent jet skis in Bouctouche for a completely different experience. It's a lovely area to go clam-digging or shell collecting too. There is a local soap-making factory that offers workshops and handmade soaps for sale. Or check out the various antique shops and art galleries for that special vacation souvenir.
Finally, the Pays de la Sagouine in Bouctouche (http://www.sagouine.com/en/) is a fantastic place to catch live music, learn a bit about the local history, try local foods and enjoy entertaining live theater! If you feel like a bit of urban activity, Moncton is a 35 minute drive away, and has movie theatres, restaurants, malls and a casino - something for everyone!

| Our family of 5 had an amazing week in this gorgeous home. We did it all - paddle boarding right off the private beach, oceanside campfire, yoga, badminton on the lawn, plus hours of uncovering shells & making friends with hermit crabs. We also had one incredibly clear night that were able to photograph the stars and the Perseid meteor shower right from the back deck. Wow! There's no way we would have seen any of that from the city. What an experience.
The house is the a perfect base to go exploring. We made it to PEI National Park and Summerside; Hopewell Rocks and Fundy National Park/Alma, into Moncton, Kouchibouguac, and the Eco-Centre which is only steps away.
Lynne is fantastic with recommendations (knows the best places for local lobster) and has impeccable taste. You won't find anything lacking in this home - beach towels, blankets, bluetooth speaker, travel mugs - it's all here. Tons of space and all the comforts of home.
Everyone wanted to stay longer?the true sign of a great vacation! Thank you for opening your home for others to enjoy!

| We are just leaving a week long stay at this wonderful cottage - absolutely one of the best holidays for our family of four. The cottage is spacious - has everything you could possibly need and want (beach towels, blankets, chairs and more) to make your stay an enjoyable one.
The location is perfect! Exploring NB (Shediac, Moncton, Hopewell Rocks, etc...) are quick day trips and we made it to PEI for one full day too! The best home base to enjoy these beautiful provinces.
The beach is fantastic - you have your own private access and mid afternoon the tide is so low you can enjoy the many sand dunes that the are proudly featured in the area.
Finally the view from the deck is like nothing we have seen before. We spent many evenings sipping wine and staring out at the beautiful water while the kids ran around the yard. I spent many mornings reading or doing yoga in front of this amazing view.
The owner is very responsive and accommodating - I will recommend this cottage to anyone planning a visit to NB.
Thank you for the wonderful memories!

| My mother and I rented this house for a week this summer and had an amazing time and felt so much more relaxed after it was over! Lynne, the owner, was always quick to respond to my inquiries when making arrangements for the rental.
The house itself is gorgeous, clean, practically brand new and wonderfully decorated with a laid back beachy feel. The sofas and beds were really comfortable. There were plenty of towels and blankets (which came in handy because it was a little chilly when we first got there). All appliances were easy to use and worked great!
When we weren't enjoying the comforts of the inside, we were outside either in the front getting some evening sun in the rocking chairs or taking naps on the lounge chairs on the back deck and, of course, we spent plenty of time on the gorgeous, sandy beach! I just couldn't believe how warm the water was considering the air was a little chilly the first couple of days. The house has several beach chairs so they came in handy while on the beach. The entire time we were there, we had a large stretch of beach to ourselves so it was nice and private. I also did the 5 minute walk along the shore to the Irving Eco Centre boardwalk for a run several times which was very convenient.
We definitely recommend this house to anyone, families looking for fun, or even just a couple of grown-ups looking for a quiet vacation on the ocean! We hope to come back again soon!

| La maison est très bien, bien équipée, sauf qu'il n'y a pas de téléphone, système de son et aucun téléviseur. À l'extérieur vous avez tout ce dont vous aurez besoin.
