Beautiful Canadian log cabin overlooking a small lake. Across the lake is crown land, so views are of pristine wilderness, consisting of birch, pine and maple tree forest. The lake contains many inlets, a small waterfall, some beaver lodges, and a resident loon. The beachfront is sandy and shallow for approximately 4 metres before falling off abruptly. Plenty of room for children to play in the sand or splash in the water supervised. The dock is T-shaped, and it is deep enough to jump, dive or fish off the dock's end. We have a canoe, kayak and paddle board for guests to explore the lake. The cottage is situated on 3.5 acres of forested land, with a large garden and plenty of space for lounging or playing ball. There are also abundant raspberry bushes (wild and cultivated) in season, as well as a small budding orchard. The cottage is surrounded by a terrace, and includes a barbecue and gazebo (for eating outside without being bothered by mosquitos or flies). Inside, the cottage is large and spacious, with a fully equipped chef's kitchen (including gas Viking Range). The main room also has a gas fireplace and modern Scandinavian wood burning fire, surrounded by a semi-circular sofa. Upstairs are three bedrooms (two Queen beds, and one children's room with 2 twin beds). In the basement are children's toys, a TV and a fourth bedroom which leads out to the lake through French doors. There is also a sofa bed in the common space in the basement for extra guests. The upstairs bathroom has a jacuzzi bath and separate shower. The basement bathroom also has a 4-person sauna. The cottage is a 45 minute drive to the hills and slopes of Mont Tremblant, a 20 minute drive to Labelle (and the 'Linear Park' of the Petit Train du Nord, a 200-km bicycle and cross-country ski trail that runs through the Laurentians). In the small town of La Minerve, you will find a grocery, small SAQ, Belgian bakery, hardware store, and general store.

The cottage is well appointed. The basement includes a large play space, with many games (children and adults) and a TV (with a library of films). The area is great for walking, cycling, running, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing on the lake in winter. Nearby facilities exist for hiking, cycling, and skiing. + VIEW MORE - COLLAPSE Note: 10 minutes from the town of La Minerve, the cottage is approximately 2-2.5 hours from Montreal, 3 hours from Ottawa, 4.5 hours from Quebec City, and 6.5 hours from Toronto. | My family and I spent four days at this cottage and we wish we could have stayed forever. We were very sad to leave. The cottage is spacious, very clean and very well equipped. Krista is a super host who made all the needed arrangements to make our stay simply perfect. Lac Croche is almost unique, with crown land on the other side of the lake creating an environment of idyllic seclusion. You feel at one with nature. Great fishing, canoeing and simple relaxation. The village of Minerve has all one could possibly need from the Patisserie shop/café to the well stocked supermarket, the hardware store. Fully recommend this cottage for a an experience of a life-time.

| This is by far the best cottage we ever rented. Great interiors, great lake, great nature, private boat bridge, lots of deers, beavers, lots of toys for the kids ... even a mosquito-free outside dining space. The only disadvantage was: The weather was too good, so we missed to use the sauna;) This is a five-star-place, leaves nothing to be desired.

| WOW! What a wonderful week we enjoyed at Lac Croche! The description and photos are very accurate and we would like to offer some additional details: - wifi internet is available with decent range - kid-friendly area to run around inside and out. Toys and beach toys are available and suitable for all ages. There is also a kid-sized life jacket available. A child's booster seat and a crib with linens was available, though the crib was positioned at the "higher" level (suitable for a child that cannot stand up yet). - upstairs bathroom was luxurious but the shower is low flow. For a rejuvenating spa-like shower, use the one in the basement! - there is no fire pit but sitting in the screened-in porch was the perfect way to enjoy the evenings outdoors. - France and Alfie are the property managers who were so helpful and gracious to us during our stay. (Thank you to Alfie for coming over late one evening when the water shut off after a wicked storm!)
Thank you, Krista and family! We will certainly return in the future to enjoy your lovely cottage!

| The cottage was beautiful, very tastefully decorated, the kind of place you would like as a home, very well equipped with all the amenities to enjoy a quiet holiday. Very modern kitchen, lots of space inside and outside of the cottage. We enjoyed canoeing and kayaking, relaxing on the dock which was overlooking a peaceful lake. The property manager was very nice and helpful throughout our entire stay. Overall we had an amazing experience, would definitely come back!
