| We spent three wonderful nights at a stunning retreat cottage on Big MashaMush Lake in Bridgewater County. The location was perfect, offering breathtaking views. The water temperature was over 75 degrees, making it ideal for boating, swimming, and fishing. It was nothing short of incredible.
The cottage was thoroughly equipped, including items we hadn't even thought to bring. With six of us staying there, the ample bedrooms and washrooms, along with plenty of seating and decks, created a spacious and serene atmosphere. The boat launch was just three minutes away and easily accessible. It was a private launch, allowing us to bring our boat right up to the shore.
Although there was no dock, it didn't impact our experience at all. The cottage also offered a couple of boats for use. For those interested in fishing, we caught over 400 fish in three days, practicing catch and release. Some members of our group had never fished before, and it was a fantastic experience for everyone.
The cottage itself was immaculate, featuring air conditioning upstairs and a dehumidifier downstairs. The fully equipped kitchen, complete with a dishwasher, made it easy for us to spend more time enjoying the water. Plus, Bridgewater is only a 10-minute drive away, making it convenient to grab supplies without a long trip.
Our host was exceptional, always responsive and helpful. We enjoyed our stay so much that we've already booked again for next year!

| This cottage has so much potential! The location is amazing...the lake and the river provided hours of entertainment for my family. The cottage itself has great backbones...a great lay out and huge windows overlooking the lake provided us with beautiful views day and night. It is a great spot to stay for the day or head into Lunenburg, Mahone Bay or Halifax for day trips. We did, however, find the cottage lacking in cleanliness and supplies. I am not sure spring cleaning has ever happened there and the floors, walls, fridge and cupboards were not clean. When we opened the windows, some of them had so many bug bodies in them that they flew in at us. All of the brooms were broken, the smoke alarm was disconnected and no longer on the ceiling, there were no garbage bags, dish soap or dishwasher tabs. Even some of the lamps were missing bulbs. There is no private boat dock anymore and the ping pong table is broken. There was also moisture coming in the basement wall, but I believe that was a new issue and the owner was going to correct that right away. All in all, I'd say with a little TLC this spot could be great.

Owner response: Thanks for the review. It is unfortunate that none of the missing supplies were communicated to us as we clearly spoke after check-in to make sure everything is OK. It is a very simple task to add the dish soap and the garbage bags. We clearly said before check-in there is no Dock. The walker Bay boat can be easily moved to shore. We have a cleaning crew and they could have easily went back to clean. This review is unfair and dishonest. It does not reflect anything about this cottage particularly the guests who were there from VRBO the week before gave all items 5/5 and the review is available online. It is unfortunate we get this quality of guests from time to time. | |

| The pictures do not do this cottage justice!! It was beautifulllll! The view of the lake is incredibly, especially at sunset. It was also very private and quiet, not to mention clean! The owner was also very helpful. We were a group of seven women and the cottage slept us all very comfortably. There would have been room for even more people! The 3 full bathrooms were also very clean. We were also able to find a cab company willing to take us into Luneburg Saturday evening.
I look forward to booking this cottage again!

| We had a great week staying at the cottage. It is located in a wonderful location, making it a close drive to Bridgewater, Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and the Lunenburg County Winery. We enjoyed waking up to a stunning view of the lake. A view you never get tired of.
The lake is great for swimming and any other water activity you could want to do. We enjoyed roasting marshmallows at the bonfire by the lake.
This was the perfect place to get away from the everyday.
