Originally built in the late 1940's this Haliburton gem has been fully renovated and updated. It is nestled under tall white pines and sits on an outcrop of Canadian Shield right at the waters edge. Relax on the west facing wrap around deck and enjoy lazy afternoons and spectacular sunsets. This bright, open-concept cottage offers privacy and beautiful views perfect for your summer vacation. Inside, the open concept layout, high ceilings and beautiful pine paneling offer a cozy and welcoming space. The fully appointed kitchen has a large dining table that's perfect for family meals or an evening of cards or board games. Snuggle up on the couch with a good book or catch up on your favourite show...yes, there's satellite TV. The bedrooms are small but perfectly formed. Each one has high ceilings with large ceiling fans. The sectional in the living room folds out into a full queen size bed. Outside, the cottage sits on a point that slopes down into the water on over 500 feet of shoreline. The waters of Big Hawk Lake are crystal clear and weed free. Wade into the water down the sandy ramp or jump in off the dock. Big Hawk Lake is part of a multi lake chain that offers great boating and fishing opportunities. There is a marina 5 minutes away where you can launch your boat or take advantage of their motor boat and canoe rentals. For bird watchers there are song birds, hawks, loons, herons, and ducks to enjoy...bring your camera. Don't forget your fishing license...we have Bass and Lake Trout. On the deck, sit under the shade of the large pine tree that doubles as a patio umbrella. Or, lounge the afternoon away on the outdoor sectional.
In the evenings wind down around the campfire...don't forget your s'mores.

| We absolutely loved our week at Rockview! The cottage faces West with magical sunsets, but the beach and dock face south so you get the best of the sun in all directions. The water was sandy and gorgeous, we spent hours in the lake with our kiddos.
The actual cottage was better than we expected, clean, spacious for us 4, and had all the kitchen amenities we needed from a great BBQ, to the best vintage Pyrex to complete the cottage vibe.
We felt so welcomed with Mike & Stacey's thoughtful touches to our cottage week. Thank you for sharing this special place with us. Looking forward to coming back next year!

| We were well acquainted with Big Hawk Lake, but had never rented a cottage there before. We were extremely lucky to get in for the week on a cancellation and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Rockview. It is a beautifully appointed cottage, bright and airy, for the 4 of us with lots of space, comforts and conveniences. Nothing was missing, there was a fully equipped kitchen, board games and tv for rainy days (and the Olympics!), cut and dry wood and kindling for campfires, beautiful swimming from the private beach or dock, and a lovely deck with outdoor furniture for lounging or eating. The owners made us feel very welcome and we appreciated the opportunity to reconnect as a family away from the stress of our daily lives. Wonderful space to rent!

| We are a family of 4 and I have to say this was an amazing cottage experience.
This cottage is very clean, tidy, tastefully decorated and has a lot to offer.
On the inside: there are many games for kids to play, kitchen is spacious and fully equipped followed by a comfortable living room. I especially enjoyed the satellite TV (for the rainy days).
On the outside: sandy/weed free beach, deep water diving right off the dock, firepit (with wood included), the grand lake view, privacy, and spacious deck.....need I say more?
The owners Stacey and Mike are awesome! They stay at the cottage next door and they are very helpful and approachable.
I hope to return again.

| This is an absolutely wonderful place to be. Our family of four has spent a week at Rockview cottage in both 2018 and 2019, and we plan to return in 2020. The cottage's open concept provided plenty of space for the four of us to be more than comfortable during our stay. What impressed us the most was the attention to detail that Michael and Stacey have put into finishing touches. The interior is beautifully bright, modern, and clean. The kitchen is equipped with everything one could possibly want in terms of cutlery, flatware, bakeware, and small appliances.
The lake gave us countless hours of fun jumping off the dock, swimming, and fishing. The west facing deck provided views of the sunsets that are every bit as beautiful as can be expected on a lake in the Algonquin Highlands. We also enjoyed roasting marshmallows at the campfire while watching the shooting stars.
Our stays at Rockview Cottage have greatly exceeded our expectations, and we plan on returning for many summers to come.

| This was our first experience renting a cottage up north. From the moment we arrived and through the entire week, our expectations were exceeded. With all the comforts of home provided by our hosts, it was like we had arrived at OUR cottage. The interior was bright and airy, beautiful decor and with ample space for our whole family. The exterior views were spectacular, from the early morning mist gliding along the lake to the awesome sunsets in the evening. Swimming in our own private cove was awesome and boating was fabulous as we took in the majestic views of the surrounding lake area. Thank you M&S for creating a wonderful atmosphere for beautiful family memories that we will always remember?we will definitely be back next year to make some more!!
