This is our second time booking GlenCannon Retreat and it is by far one of my favourite cottages. It has that perfect blend of open and modern, while still maintaining that warm cottagey feeling. It is very well maintained and decorated tastefully (not overly cluttered or kitschy).

The cottage is on a flat piece of land nestled between trees. From the properly you can barely see or hear your neighbours, which really adds to that peaceful Up North experience.

I am already looking to book for 2022 as we always have such a great experience at GlenCannon Retreat.

Cottage was beautiful. Spacious and very clean. Lot was great. Volleyball, horseshoe, and beautiful sunsets. Sauna was an added bonus. Everyone in our group could not believe the cottage itself. We have been visiting different cottages around the province for 25 years. By far, this was our favourite.

Figured I'd rent a cottage for the friend group and I ended up finding a gem.

What a great place to spend a week, the cottage is beautiful, clean and well taken care of. We were a group of 10 and there was plenty of room. There's so much to do here that we wished we could go for two weeks. Swimming in the lake, hot tub, volleyball, kayaking, hiking at bon echo. There are two easy portages a quick paddle away from the cottage. If you leave the dock, and head northeast towards a bay you'll find our favourite. A hidden river that leads to semicircle lake, you can even keep going further after that.

The hosts are great, and easy to communicate with. We all had a great time and would recommend this cottage to anyone.

My 11-year-old daughters and I had a wonderful time at this magical place. The "cottage" is spacious and so well thought out. The natural light filters into every room. The sunsets are beautiful; we made a habit of having a sunset skate every night. The hot tub and barrel sauna kept us warm, as did the fireplace for our evening movies. We enjoyed hiking through Bon Echo Park and dogsledding near Algonquin. There are groceries available, about 15min from the cottage. It is a beautiful place in the winter; we plan on making it an annual adventure. Dan was a fantastic host.

This is truly a 5 star property. It is clean, spacious, inviting and cosy. The owners have thought about every detail. The kitchen is very well appointed. There are games, craft items, video games and tv's with streaming services for indoor entertainment. The wifi is good for those who are both working and vacationing.

We were able to enjoy the many outdoor winter amenities, including the hot tub and sauna, skating on the lake, the bonfire and snowshoeing right from the cottage. Bon Echo is just a short drive away.

What a wonderful 4 season escape this cottage is.

Dan is a very responsive and accommodating host/owner. We look forward to returning.
