| Our stay at Field Stone was beyond excellent. Marion and John were very welcoming, especially as we were traveling with our husky. They made sure that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and were available for any questions or assistance we needed. The cottage itself was very comfortable, and it was nice to enjoy the mornings in the dining nook and watch the hummingbirds outside. The kitchen was well equipped for having our meals. Overall we would definitely recommend Field Stone for a getaway in beautiful Cape Breton.

| What a wonderful place to stay. The owners were welcoming and kind, the cottage beautiful, warm, spacious and equipped with everything one could need. The cottage is tucked away in a woodland setting and therefore perfect for a peaceful getaway. We hope to return in two years when we next visit Nova Scotia!

| You will fall in love with Cape Breton Island through your experience in the guest house of Marion and John. For starters, they are both the perfect hosts. Welcoming you onto their property to enjoy their gardens, hummingbirds, hiking trails, and short walk to the water, you also have total privacy to enjoy the most comfortable bed on the island, slippers, gorgeous art work, hand picked books, and games in the cabinets. I was travelling with my children, and there was more than enough room for the 5 of us, utilizing the futon couch on the main level. This guest house is well located to enjoy the entire island. You must go and experience for yourself. If you are lucky you will meet some of the other islanders that make up this close knit community. Thank you Marion and John, and all of your friends that made our stay unforgettable.

| We had a fantastic stay at this cottage on the Cape Breton Trail. It is very convenient to all parts of Cape Breton. The cottage was tranquil and clean. Marion and John gave us lots of useful information about places to visit. A lovely place to stay.

| The Fieldstone Garden Guest House exceeded our expectations in every way. The cottage was clean, cozy and welcoming upon our arrival. Marion greeted us right away, showed us around the house and gave us very helpful information regarding local hikes, cafes etc (all of the suggestions ended up being our favourites!)
The bed was comfortable, nice linens and bedding with personal touches throughout the cottage that made it feel like a home away from home. We enjoyed tea on the screened in deck, as well as watching the hummingbirds outside the kitchen table window!
The location is perfect for driving the Cabot Trail and exploring everything Cape Breton has to offer. We completed many hikes in the Cape Breton Highlands Provincial Park, as well as some local favorites suggested by Marion. Marion found out for us when a local Ceilidh was playing so we could attend (and it was lovely!) And the best meal we had on our two week trip to the Maritimes was at a cafe close by that Marion had suggested to us.
The most special part of our visit were the hosts themselves. We sparked an immediate friendship and it was hard to say goodbye when it was time to fly home. My husband and I fell in love with their sweet dog and even got to hike her in the beautiful trails that are connected to John and Marion's property.
I HIGHLY recommend The Fieldstone Guesthouse and we hope to return again!!
