Welcome to your escape in the stunning Canadian shield! This cottage was built in 2017 with simplicity and comfort in mind. This bright, cozy space highlights what you have really come to experience - a retreat that basks in the beauty of one of Canada's most beautiful locations.

The space
This cottage is located on Bobs Lake about 45 minutes from Kingston, Ontario, 2 hours from Ottawa and 3 hours from Toronto. Enjoy the views from 300 ft of waterfront and the deep, clean swimming off of the dock.
All that adventuring is best balanced with a healthy dose of relaxing in a hammock, an outdoor dinner on the deck and a warm nighttime bonfire. The cottage is 1000 square feet with 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. While not large, it is designed to take advantage of stunning scenery and provide you the guest with all the convenience of modern amenities.
The cottage comes with a paddle board, 2 person kayak, 2 individual kayaks and a canoe. Bobs Lake is one of the best Ontario lakes to explore via boat. It is less populated than some other cottage locations and small islands make for an amazing canoe or kayak.
The cottage location is a little off the beaten path? guests should be comfortable with cottage roads - please ask us about this! The roads are safe for all vehicles, but can be a surprise to those of us who are used to highways and city streets. Let us know if you are planning to tow a boat and we can discuss the best location for launching.
The cottage is very private and you are more likely to see chipmunk neighbours than human ones. Our property is bordered by other cottages, but all 300 ft of waterfront is private.
Our neighbours are amazing and helpful and we ask that guests keep noise level down and drive slowly on local roads.
The cottage is ideal for groups of 4 adults with 2ish kids. Groups with 6 adults can be accomodated, but large groups of adults will want to go elsewhere.
The sloped path to the water has been crafted into a path, but please know that the surrounding ground is naturalized and can be rocky. We love this about the location, but it may pose a hazard to those with mobility challenges and very young children.
The cottage is the ideal place to completely unplug and escape real life, but it is equipped with high speed internet. You may find it is not quite the same speed as what is available in urban areas. The wifi works to stream netflix on the large TV in the cottage. Cell phone service can be spotty around the cottage.
Interaction with guests
Please don't hesitate to contact us via phone or text. We are two hours away, but are quite available should we be required to make a visit.
Other things to note
**There is a 7 day minimum booking during high season (July-August). Please note that the rental period is Friday - Friday to allow us to plan our cleaning schedules.
**There is space for two vehicles down by the house, a third vehicle can be left at the top of the driveway.
**The directions provided by Apple Maps/Google Maps can be incorrect, we will provide directions.
**The Fireflies! We first started seeing these little creatures in the summer and were captivated.
