This all-season cottage in the township of North Frontenac is situated on Mississagagon Lake, a hidden jewel in the heart of Eastern Ontario's cottage country. It's an idyllic setting for couples, friends and families who are looking to relax, have fun and appreciate the great outdoors. Mississagagon Lake is known as one of the premier headwater lakes in the Land O'Lakes region. The sparsely populated lake is entirely spring fed, making its clarity and cleanliness second to none. Once you boat, swim or fish on this spectacular lake, you will feel as though you've been transported to a lake in the far north. The cottage has an open concept design that flows nicely from the kitchen, dining and living area. The floor-to-ceiling windows provide great views of the lake - a perfect setting to socialize and unwind any season of the year. On the main floor, the living room has comfortable seating, a soaring wood-burning fireplace, a 55' TV with cable and DVD player with surround sound. The master bedroom includes a king size bed, ensuite bathroom, walk-in closet and sliding doors that lead to a private deck where you can sit and enjoy the view of the lake. There's a second bedroom with a queen size bed and another 3-piece bathroom. The dining area seats 8 people comfortably. The large kitchen (with adjoining laundry room) is fully-equipped with everything you need to make yourself feel at home. The sunroom has additional seating where you can enjoy the fresh air, even when it's raining.
The spacious loft overlooking the lake provides additional sleeping space for up to 6 people, including two (2) queen size beds and sofa bed.
For indoor activities, there's an assortment of board games, puzzles, books, DVD movies for all ages, and a karaoke machine.
The outdoor area has an expansive deck with propane BBQ and patio furniture for dining al fresco. The large grassy front yard is flat for outdoor activities and easy water access. There are two picnic table for additional seating; a fire pit for a real Canadian cottage experience; Muskoka chairs and loungers for relaxing; and lawn games (bocce ball set, washer toss, frisbee).
With almost 200-ft of waterfront (shallow water entry), spend time in and around the pristine water. Provided for your enjoyment are 2 kayaks, a canoe and a non-motorized boat. Don't forget to bring your fishing rods, bait and license. Mississagagon Lake supports a warm water fishery, in particular; lake herring, yellow pickerel, northern pike, smallmouth and largemouth bass, yellow perch, rock bass and pumpkinseed.
In the evenings, watch the stars come out and enjoy the darkest skies in southern Ontario. Fun fact is, that North Frontenac was the first municipality in Canada to receive Dark Sky Preserve status from the Royal Astronomical Society in Canada.
Local conveniences are within a 15 minute drive away: LCBO, Beer Store, grocery and convenience stores, emergency and medical services, gas station, restaurants, banking services and more.
There's a general notion behind the Township's slogan "Four Seasons, More Reasons". The expansive, natural, and undisturbed wilderness boasts a variety of outdoor activities:
- Explore miles of deep countryside in snowshoes or on cross-country skis
- Snowmobile on a network of trails throughout the region
- Try your hand at ice fishing
- Explore the beaches, nature trails and park area at Bon Echo Provincial Park, designated a National Historic Site of Canada.
- Play golf at Hunter's Creek Golf Course
- Attend an organized event at The Dark Sky Reserve observational pad
- Visit the Land O' Lakes Rescue Petting Farm

| I highly recommend people to stay here. It could accommodate 7 people easily. More than enough space inside and even more outside with lots to do.

| Absolutely recommend this cottage! The cottage and the waterfront are gorgeous, clean and very well maintained. You can tell the owners take pride in their cottage and truly want their renter's experience to be as amazing as possible. Jason was also super accommodating and responsive. Definitely our overall best experience in our years of renting cottages.
Heads up to future renters - 1) there aren't really any nice towns close by. Often, when we do our annual cottage week, we take a day to wander around (often there's a cute, quaint town with little local stores, coffee shops, wineries, etc.), and go for a nice dinner. But this area is just pure cottage country - beautiful water, trees, and landscapes. 2) setup your GPS (we used Waze) BEFORE you turn off the main highway. It's a pretty long trek through the forest, but as long as you know where you're going, it's easy and gorgeous!

| This is an absolute gem. We were there four times, and we always really enjoyed everything. The cottage is spotless. The lake is clear and great for swimming. The cottage is well appointed with everything anyone would need. We would return without hesitation. Thanks to the owners for our enjoyable stay.

| Just awesome. Everything is on site and within a reasonable walking distance. Canoes on site and surprisingly my 1 year old loved it. We brought his playpan and he basically enjoyed the scenery from his playpan. Great getaway.

| This cottage is incredible! We were impressed by it's charm and how well stocked it was with everything from water shoes to board games to spices - everything was perfect! The view is incredible and it's on a lovely and quiet part of the lake. There are excellent hiking trails nearby and the fall colours are just spectacular at this time of year. Everything was easy, welcoming, and accommodating. I highly recommend this cottage!
