My cottage is located on Little Lake, just 11/ 2 hours east of Toronto, near hwy 401, between Colborne and Brighton. Little Lake is a small, clean, spring fed lake with a sandy bottom.
My cottage is spacious, serene and relaxing, overlooking the lake with 40' of lake access and a dock. It is ideal for families with small children and folks with mobility issues since the kitchen, great room, bedroom, bathroom and deck are all on the same level overlooking the lake. At the same time a spacious loft area and lower level bedroom/recreation room (with a foozeball table and karaoke machine) provide space for active young people.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances including a dishwasher and microwave oven; there is a washer and dryer in the basement. The kitchen opens onto a large deck with a dining table, lounge chairs, and gas barbecue and bird feeder for the many birds who visit this area. The great room has floor to ceiling windows overlooking the lake, an antique dining set, and a propane fireplace for chilly mornings. The media room adjacent has a great collection of c.d's and dvd's for rainy evenings. All bedding, towels etc are supplied.
At the waterfront we have a firepit with plenty of wood near the shoreline, as well as a paddleboat, canoe, paddleboard and floating doughnut for the lazy. There are two bicycles in the shed for energetic folk.
Little Lake is about 5 km from Brighton which has a nice shopping area and is close to Presqu'ile Point Provincial Park with long beaches, a bird sanctuary, marsh boardwalk and a lighthouse museum. Prince Edward County with its wineries, charming towns of Bloomfield, Wellington (visited by Prince Charles) and Picton and the famous sandbanks Provincial Park is about 40 minutes away. There are many local festivals, from Apple Blossom Festival in May to Applefest in September. This are is famous for apples and soft fruit, especially strawberries.

| This was our 5th year at this wonderful cottage with our whole family of 10. The children truly enjoy their time and the 11 year said this was their summer home for a week. We went to the Alpaca farm this year and the time there was enjoyed by all -- from 9 to 77. We are already looking forward to great experiences next summer. Best cottage ever and we feel like it's our home away from home in one glorious week. The kids are talking about their plans for next summer already. Really brings the family together. Thank you so much.

| Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful cottage. We loved Little Lake, the water is clear and sandy and great for swimming . I enjoyed the large windows and sitting and watching the birds while we ate our meals. Very close to the provincial park and great for hiking. We couldn't of asked for a better holiday. Thanks again.

Owner response: I'm Glad that you enjoyed your stay at my cottage. This time of year the birds are gathering for migration as Presqu'ile Park near Brighton is on the migratory route. They are quite a show. Last fall we had a flock of Canada Geese who visited the waterfront every morning and evening.

| We enjoyed a magical weekend at the cottage. The set up is spacious and the view from the deck can't be beat. We had a wonderful time swimming, kayaking and paddleboating around this unique lake. Lynn the owner was very supportive and responsive to any questions. Really a heavenly retreat and we can't wait to come back next year.

| Thank you for a wonderful time! The lake is absolutely gorgeous - so clear, beautifully sandy, and shallow for a long distance out, so perfect for kids! The kids also really enjoyed the paddleboard and pedalo. We had a fabulous family get-together - layout was perfect for my Mum to stay on the first floor, kids in the basement, and us parents upstairs. Just perfect, thanks so much!

| The pros of the cottage are the location, sandy bottom lake, it was very well stocked with all you could ask for including oscillating fans (as there's no air conditioning) extension cords, bedding, kitchen supplies and supplies for dogs like bowls and leashes. The back yard is very private and the view is very beautiful with amazing sunsets. There were also lots of supplies for water sports and campfires. However, our experience suggests the cottage is more for families with younger children. It's advertised as a 3 bedroom cottage yet in essence, there are no private bedrooms to be had. The main floor bedroom is open to the den where the TV is located, the loft bedroom is open to the entire loft area and any sounds coming from the living room/dining room and kitchen. The beds in the basement are open to the entire area and are not very comfortable. They are more suited to children than adults. Another interesting note to point out is that there are 9 absolutely beautiful windows in the living room/dining room that overlooks the back yard and lake. However, we were unable to open these windows because they are entirely covered by plexiglass. Not sure why this is the case. In light of the fact the cottage has no air conditioning, it was very disappointing we couldn't open these windows to catch the breeze in the evening. We would like to thank Gillian the property manager and Wayne for all their help when needed. They are an asset to this property.

Owner response: I regret that you were not happy with your time at Little Lake but remain rather puzzled. It is clearly stated in the description of my cottage that it is best suited for families with children, and the layout of the bedroom space is clearly explained, with added photos. The fact that there are ceiling fans, not air conditioning is also clearly stated. The windows facing the lake are sealed because this is a four season cottage and the refreshing breezes of July rapidly become the bitter winds of November.
