Hidden gem only 1.5hrs away from the city!
Fairly easy to find from the main roads.

This is a large, clean cottage with a splendid view of the lake. The cottage is quite spacious with newly renovated bathrooms. The large windows are perfect for beautiful morning views of the lake!
We were a group of 9 people (incl 3 kids ages 7,8,9) and had plenty of room without running into each other.
Even though early in the season, all of us (kids & adults) enjoyed our walk down to the water for a beautiful view of the lake.
We enjoyed our stay here so much, we've booked for a another week later this year. We're all looking forward to coming back for some rejuvenation!

Easy drive up to Buckhorn, although more of a house than a cottage for those looking for a certain experience. Walk down to the water is dangerous. Outside area is not well kept with many rocks and bricks scattered around the grounds. Wouldn't consider it kid friendly. Nice small lake with good view. No outdoor seating so bring your own chairs.

Owner response:
Thank you for posting a review. We do advertise the place as an open concept 3,000 SQFT modern home.
All homes around this area are part of the Canadian Shield and access to the lake is via steps. The path down to the lake is wooden and natural stone steps and by no means dangerous. Many of our previous guests have navigated this path with children with ages ranging from 6-15. However, we do understand that some folks will find the path challenging and we suggest the nearby beach at Sandy Lake in the listing- Full Disclosure.

The natural setting of the environment with the rocks and the woods is what we think is part of the charm of our place rather than manicured lawns and landscaped gardens. There are plenty of birds and other small wild life that habitat our property and we wish to preserve it as such.

Your group consisted of adults in the 20-30 age range with no children. We haven't had any guests who have come with children give us feedback that our home is not "kid friendly". As parents to young children who also call this their home, we strive to provide an environment which is enjoyable and safe. We have a room downstairs with toys and games, and there is plenty of space outdoors for exploring and safe play.

We apologize for the inconvenience of you having to move the patio chairs from inside to the decks. They were inside for the winter.

I cannot say enough what a fun, relaxing weekend getaway only 2 hours from the city, you truly feel away. This home is massive! It is comfortable, clean, spacious, and has all the amenities we could ask for in such a beautiful setting. We had two families with teens and younger children, there was ample room to hang out together or to find your own space to enjoy reading quietly. Bathrooms are newly renovated and the kitchen/dining easily accommodated our large group.

The surroundings are the true gem, theres a walk out to a huge wrap-around deck from each room PLUS a fire pit and multiple decks for lounging...we even barbecued! Even when you are inside you cannot help be taken away with the views of the lake and trees from the large windows.

We took short walks down to the crystal clear lake for the unforgettable sunrise, beautiful pink/orange skies this time of year.

I highly recommend it and cannot wait to return again with friends and family, the check in/out process was super smooth and the hosts communicated promptly. Thank you!

This cottage is spacious and clean. It has more than enough rooms and bathrooms to sleep and shower comfortably. The view from the cottage is breathtaking. There are so many windows so much light shines through the whole place.

The dock is at the bottom of a set of steps. It leads into a very clean and clear lake.

We will definitely be back!

Thank you for you feedback Shafina. We take pride in our beautiful spot and appreciate that you think it is very special too! We look forward to having you back.

It is a perfect place to unwind and forget your 'city life' worries.
It's very serene and awesome in communing with nature -- morning, night, all day. Yoga at the floating dock - 'sun salutation' during actual sunrise. It's an experience you will remember. So relaxing.

The place is a home away from home. If it's your plan to unplug - this is the place! You don't miss any amenities you have from the city or your own home. The place is very clean and lots of room. Be back in a heartbeat!

WOW Jocelyn, thank you for taking the time to pen such a colorful picture of our place. It's feedback such as yours that motivates us to open our ?home away from home? and share it with others so they too may enjoy the beauty of the lake, the light, the settings, the skies, and the colors the surrounding environment offers.

You were a wonderful guest and always welcome.
