Winter note: from Dec 1 to April 30, we only have the Grandview cottage available with a maximum occupancy of 10. Something for everyone!!! There are two cottages - Grandview and Lakeside - on this amazing piece of paradise on beautiful Papineau Lake. The two cottages are situated close to the water at opposite sides of a very private 1.5 acre lot with 220 feet of sandy shoreline. The lake is known for it's amazing beaches, sandy bottom, crystal clear water and fantastic lake trout, pike and bass fishing. Special note: From November 1st through to the start of May long weekend, only the Grandview is available for rent with a capacity of 10 people. In Summer months, you can enjoy your own private shoreline just steps from the cottages with two docks and a regulation-sized beach volleyball court. The lake water is crystal clear and great for playing or swimming. In Spring and Fall, you can enjoy the quiet surroundings and take leisurely hikes exploring the areas around the lake and for the more adventurous, the nearby ATV trail system provide access to a large network of trails for riders of all levels. In winter there is easy access to snowmobiling trails as well as great snowshoeing or just enjoying the wonder of the crystal clear night skies. At any time of year, you will always enjoy gorgeous sunrises and absolute quiet and tranquil days and evenings. The Grandview cottage is fully winterized and open all year round. The cottage sleeps 10 and is spacious enough to allow everyone plenty of space. It is 2800 square feet with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. It has a master bedroom with king bed and ensuite, a second master bedroom with ensuite, and two additional bedrooms with single-over-double in each. Other amenities include central A/ C, a large spacious kitchen and dining area, two large open concept living areas, two decks, BBQ as well as a sauna and hottub.
Also sharing the property is The Lakeside cottage, which is open from the beginning of May through to the end of October (it is not available for rent from November 1st through end of April). Lakeside is 1450 square feet and sits right on the water's edge. It has a master bedroom with a queen bed and a second bedroom with a single-over-double bed plus a single bed, A/C, fully equipped kitchen and dining area, living room, loft area with a tremendous view, as well as private water access and deck area. This cottage sleeps 6.
The Gamesroom, in a separate heated building, provides a great place to enjoy evenings indoors. In the games room there is a pool table, foosball table, ping pong table, rod hockey table, as well as a shuffleboard table and darts area.
Internet is through a Starlink system so you will experience lightning fast WIFI speeds! We also have a full standby generator that powers both cottages and the games room in the event of a power outage.
Note: During peak season, which is from the last Saturday of June to the first Saturday of September, we rent the cottages as a package and our rates listed are for both cottages together.
During the periods of May long weekend to the start of peak season (last week of June) and from Labour Day to end of October, our rates shown are for the Grandview Cottage only but you can add Lakeside for an additional fee of $170/night or $1105/week. From November 1st through April 30th only the Grandview is available for rent.
Also note: For peak season, we give our current guests the option to re-book their same week for the following summer before making those dates available. So any available weeks for the following summer will only be released after those dates have passed in the current summer.
WARNING: we only advertise our cottage on Cottages In Canada. Recently we found a copy of our ad on an Ontario Cottages Rental and Sales Facebook page under someone else's name. I suspect there are people doing this same thing with many cottage listings and intend on taking payment in exchange for a bogus reservation. They would likely not know our last name or cottage address but would know our first names. So please beware.

Note: Located on beautiful Lake Papineau. A short drive from Bancroft but a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of life. The lake is very sandy with great swimming and long stretches of shallow water for youngsters to play safe. | This was our 7th year booking "It's a Shore Thing!" and our host Wayne always exceeds our expectations. Wayne is always making improvements to the property. Outdoors, you will find endless things to do for both sunny and rainy days. We enjoyed playing beach volleyball and endless other games or spending time on the water using SUP's, kayaks and canoes. If it's rainy, there is a games room with a pool table, ping pong, shuffle board, hot tub and sauna. Inside the cottage, you will find card / board games to play. Wayne always keeps the cottage clean upon arrival both inside and out and if there is ever a problem, it's dealt with promptly. We've booked again for next year and look forward to another stay swimming in the beautiful Papineau Lake and spending time with family.

| Our extended family enjoyed another great week at "It's a Shore Thing". With two cottages, there are lots of options. Late sleepers and teenagers in one, and earlier risers along with the under-8-up-too-early crowd in the other. Two kitchens and three fridges make cooking for a large group and storing food for the week easy. The dining area can accommodate everyone for family meals. Forgot a spice There's a good chance it will be there. These cottages get better every year with constant improvements.
A volleyball court that doubles as a giant sandbox, beautiful lake views, great swimming, an assortment of watercraft and lifejackets, a fire circle, and a terrific games room keep everyone busy rain or shine. All the cousins have a great time. Great cottage memories for everyone.

| Our group had a fantastic stay. The cottage was in great condition, clean and the location was fantastic. A huge highlight was the amount of activities available - the garage games room, the volleyball court, and hot-tub/sauna combination made for an action-packed weekend.
The host Wayne was also very helpful and kind.
Highly recommend to stay here!

| This is our 3rd time staying at Wayne's cottage and it never disappoints. We've stayed in the fall, winter and spring and it's always been a perfect dad's weekend getaway. This cottage has pretty much every amenity you'd want including a hot tub, sauna and massive games room. We used to rent a different cottage every year until we found this gem. Already looking forward to going back next year!

| We had a fabulous winter getaway at this lovely cottage. It had everything we needed and more. The 4 teens loved the separate games room with ping pong and pool. We all enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. The cottage had a fully equipped kitchen which was great while trying to feed 6 people. We loved that the girls could have the basement to themselves as a place to hang out and it had 2 rooms with bunks so the 4 of them could sleep down there as well. My husband worked the week and the wifi was super strong. The master bedroom had a super comfortable king bed and an incredible view of the lake which we enjoyed in the mornings. I would highly recommend renting this cottage you would not be disappointed. Wayne was super easy to communicate with and had a fabulous welcome email with everything you needed to know about the cottage.
