| An excellent cottage! Our family of five was comfortable (though the six year old did share the king bed with us parents). The many outdoor seating areas were great. Lots of shade to keep cool. The lake is huge and clean with lots of great fishing but not too busy. The boat launch is handy at Black Donald Tent and Trailer park (10 min by car, 5 min by boat).
As you can see in the pictures the cottage is not right beside the lake (though the view of the lake from the cottage is spectacular) just something to consider for anyone with mobility issues - it's about a 100 m walk with a fairly steep slope in one section and lots of stairs.
The cottage was immaculately clean. This is super important to me and I was not disappointed. The kitchen was well appointed. Just don't forget your sheets and towels.
Communication with Chris and Karen was clear, friendly and efficient.
We would definitely like to return!

| This is a beautiful cottage on Black Donald Lake. It is like going to a good friend's home. Everything in the cottage is well taken care of. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is very equipped, there is plenty of games for inside and outside of the cottage. The swimming is divine. The docks and decks are very well maintained. It makes for a perfect get away! Additionally, the owner's are friendly and responsive.
I also appreciated that the owner's were conscious of the environment and used environmentally safe products inside and outside the cottage.

| This cottage really is bliss! We loved the area and enjoyed hiking and biking the nearby trails as well as the famous Eagles Nest in Calabogie. The cottage was impeccably clean and had everything we needed and more! The kids loved the paddle boards and kayaks and the great swimming. We were lucky to see some Otters running around the area while we paddled in the water. The beds were comfortable, the views were beautiful and peaceful and the kitchen had everything to cook meals or just be lazy and have hotdogs on a stick on one of the two fire pits. This is a rare rental in the area. We can't wait to come back and enjoy this great cottage again!

| Black Donald Bliss lives up to its name. We just finished our week and could not have made a better choice. The cottage was very clean and has a great layout. Mornings on the deck and afternoons on the deck were pretty much the schedule for the week. The water was very clear and great for swimming. Calabogie and Burnstown offer great cafes and restaurants, but best to make a reservation at the Redneck Bistro if you decide to go. There are lots of outdoor activities in the area as well.
The cottage was very well equipped, you will not find anything lacking and our whole family was very comfortable for the length of our stay. The lake is big but not as busy as others close to Ottawa and the property has great privacy, it was a very peaceful spot. We have rented may cottages over the years but this is one of the best we have had and certainly earned its 5 stars.

| We enjoyed an amazing fall week at Black Donald Bliss, and loved every minute! Fantastic beds and pillows, comfy seating for everyone in the living room (couch and 2 love seats), fireplace with lots of wood, and a very well stocked kitchen, perfect for cooks (food processor, blender, coffee grinder, lots of serving dishes, and great pots/pans and baking dishes). All of this added up to a week of comfort, relaxation, and, well... bliss!
Given it was fall we didn't really use the lake beyond a quick paddle in the canoe, but we did enjoy some of the outside seating overlooking the lake and the incredible fall colours. Karen, Chris, and Everett were great hosts and incredibly kind to the travellers from the treeless tundra.
Highly recommend this cottage and the comfort it offers.
