B'Haven is a lovingly renovated two story home on two acres of partially forested land on a fabulous lake. The property includes a two-room bunkie (summer only), a wood-burning firepit, two kayaks, 2 decks attached to the house, gardens and porches on both levels. Situated on Lake Kasshabog - a 10 km lake with lots of inlets, bays and islands to explore - the large waterfront (220') includes a sandy shoreline ideal for little ones. A floating deck with ladder is attached to the dock - perfect for water games, floating and fun. Our bay is known for game fishing (bass and yellow perch) with a small rock island just a stones throw away for a short paddle or additional swim pad. There is a public beach close by (10 min drive). Local attractions include the Petroglyphs Provincial Park, the Gut Conservation Gorge, golf courses (Marvel Rapids, Oakland Greens), multiple 'art trails', community festivals and larger poke about locales including Prince Edward County (known as 'the County'), Bancroft and Peterborough. The main floor includes a large living/ dining space, new contemporary kitchen with storage area and television/games room - with a newly added 24' x 13' open concept comfortably carpeted play space - perfect for rainy days and indoor fun. The second floor has two bedrooms (queen beds in both), a large open sitting space with two pull-out large single couches (extremely comfy mattresses), bathroom and an additional smaller indoor sitting area. There are two decks from the house offering an outdoor eating area and great views if the lake. The bunkhouse is a short path from the cottage and includes both a bedroom with queen size bed and separate sitting area. Cottage amenities include games - and more games, DVDs and satellite television. A walking trail through the forest begins near the end of our drive. Internet available.
The property is largely flat with a court-sized open space ideal for games - soccer, badminton, ladder toss - plus a small concrete pad with basketball net. Circular stone drive provides ample parking. The larger property allows for a good amount of privacy - and the neighbours on either side are quite wonderful. Boat launch nearby.

| This cottage is quintessential Kwarthas; a hidden gem, quiet, and calming retreat in the most serene setting. With a large private yard for games, Muskoka chairs around the fire to watch the sun setting over the lake, and a floating dock to enjoy with a glass of wine. The cottage is perfectly appointed with beautiful artwork and little touches of decor, everything you could need and a perfect score for cleanliness. Barb was so friendly and responsive, an absolute dream host. We made great use of the provided kayaks to explore the lake, and enjoyed the many different areas set up to dine inside and outside of the cottage. An absolute perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or to get away from the city.
Barb and Tom provided everything needed to feel right at home. You'll feel as though you are staying at a friend's home from the curated artwork, to the selection of books, to the hospitable neighbours, Barb and Tom truly make it at home away from home. We'll be back every year.

| Lovely cottage! Elegant, comfortable, bright and airy; perfect in every way. Couldn't have asked for better. We've been to many, many cottages through the years, and have never before been made to feel as much at home, as we were here. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

| Our family had a wonderful stay at B'Haven. The place is immaculate, beautifully situated, and set up like a real home with good-quality furnishings and a tasteful, personal aesthetic. Practical information for the prospective renter: There were six of us, including a baby, and we had ample room to relax and enjoy one another's company. Owner Barb was super accessible by email and text and very easy to deal with. The beds are very comfortable. The bedrooms did not have curtains, which we didn't mind, but we did have to rig up some towels over the windows so the baby could nap (he's not a good napper!). The kitchen is well appointed and everything works fine, although I would suggest bringing your own chef knife if you are a serious cook (but that is a general rule for any rental). The neighbours are quiet, friendly and willing to help if needed. Summary: it's a fabulous place, well managed in a perfect location. We will definitely be back!

Owner response: Thanks, Franca! You are a great communicator, one who asked really good questions in preparation. We will augment our BHaven Handbook with some of the queries/answers. Helpful! You also showed great care with our lakehouse - so appreciated. Glad that you and your family had a chance to enjoy some time together. Hope to see you again! Barb | |

| Our stay at Bhaven marked the pinnacle of our cottage rental experiences. So few summer rental homes live up to their online pictures and descriptions, and this one surpasses it. BHaven is stunning, with beautiful decor, picture-window views of the lake and all the amenities you'd ever want inside. My partner and I brought our teen and her two friends, who loved staying in the bunkie and enjoyed spending time on the dock, the nearby island and walking trails. The lake is perfect for swimming and kayaking. At night, we made a fire and ate under the stars. I wish we'd stayed for longer. Thank you, Barb and Tom!

| B'haven is the perfect cottage getaway. The cottage is stunning with everything you need, beautiful windows to enjoy the lake views and loons :) and the island is a bonus! We toured the lake using the kayaks and enjoyed beautiful sunsets. The cottage owners are wonderful and answer any questions promptly. We were lucky enough to enjoy this cottage with our puppy and our daughter and we will be back next year for more adventures and relaxation.
