Read your favorite books on the riverside deck or patios, wander through Kingston and Gananoque, cycle the Thousand Islands Parkway, or fish from shoreline. Relax in the Thousand Islands this summer, wind down and enjoy tranquillity at Howe Island Haven. Or visit in the autumn to enjoy fall colours. Our house looks south over the Saint Lawrence toward Wolfe Island, with over 200 ft of shoreline, and has its own small harbour. After a short ferry ride and a 15 minutes drive, you're in the heart of historic Kingston, with excellent restaurants and shopping. Or drive 15 minutes and take a short ferry ride into Gananoque, with its small town feel and excellent theatre productions. The open plan living and dining room open onto a spacious deck with beautiful views of the river. The house sleeps up to four people, with two separated bedrooms (one with queen bed, the other with two stacking singles that can be joined together). Full and half bathrooms adjoin. The kitchen is well equipped with stove, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, coffee maker, dishes, etc. Other amenities include a washer and dryer, BBQ, Smart TV and DVD player, plenty of books, DVD's and games. The house is relatively private on a 1 acre lot with plenty of trees, gardens and a couple of ponds. A waterfall runs after heavy rain. A second smaller building shares the property, but is not visible from the riverside garden. Other neighbours are 200-300 feet away. Please note during the summer months our rental period is weekly, Saturday to Saturday. We enjoy pets, but unfortunately we cannot accept them at the house. Smoking is only permitted outdoors.
Enjoy the Thousand Islands, Kingston and Gananoque this summer!

| Two of us spent a relaxing week at this beautiful property. Expansive decks, secluded patios on the ever-interesting riverfront, and a frog pond too. The cottage was comfortable, clean, spacious, well-equipped - we couldn't ask for more. Our hosts provided lots of information and were very responsive. We hope to return next year!

| Howe Island Haven was a wonderfully relaxing place to spend our vacation. The cottage was very well equipped with everything we needed and the information in the renters' book was clear and comprehensive. The bottle of wine was a lovely touch. It was a little tricky to get into the water to swim because the stones were slippery, but once in, it was glorious and clean. We also cycled around the island on both shores and walked a lot, appreciating the views and the quiet. The deck overlooking the St Lawrence was a favourite spot to eat and hang out. Kingston and Gananoque are both within 15 minutes off the ferry but we preferred to stay on the island and luxuriate in its beauty and peace.

| We were very fortunate to have found Andrew and Barbara's place on Cottages in Canada: exactly what we were looking for. Their home/cottage on the St.-Lawrence was very well kept and comfortable, with beautiful views...I would say the inside and out were at least as beautiful as depicted in the photos. Hearing the waves much of the day/night was a highlight! We explored the island by "scenic driving", and saw sunsets, horses, islands, beautiful forests and fields and some older farms. Andrew and Barbara are accommodating and kind: thank you again for the welcome card and the bottle of wine! It was also nice to connect with Andrew at the end of stay. We so appreciated the opportunity to be at this escape and have plans to book it again.

| This is the ideal location if you are looking for a quiet week to enjoy a slower pace of life! Such a serene and picturesque location with amazing views of the St. Lawrence. As a party of 3 adults, we appreciated the organized, uncluttered, bright and spacious living areas. The kitchen is particularly well-equipped. Having arrived without bed linens and towels, we were grateful that Andrew was close by to assist us with this critical piece for our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Howe Island Haven.

| Our week at Howe Island Haven met our expectations! My husband and I were looking for a peaceful spot far from people, noise and internet; comfortable enough so we don't miss our amenities at home; not too isolated so we can make an easy daytrip or two if we feel like it. This cottage met all these needs. In addition, the owners are top-notch and responsive, from the first email, phone call, welcome gift and assistance while there. What makes it a 4 * instead of 5 * , for us, is that although we understand this is an older cottage, some simple TLC and minor investment would elevate the guest experience, for example a new kitchen faucet, kitchen bin, TV console, window tracks brush and a few dehumidifiers (especially if future summers are to remain as humid). Our favorite moments at Howe Haven : swimming + identifying the numerous birds + feeling the breeze on the riverside deck. Complete dis.con.nect. MERCI!
