Private lakefront cottage, situated 12 km south of Kincardine. This 3 bedroom, 2 bath family cottage offers 1300 square feet of living space on a wide lot, and sleeps a maximum of 6. Nestled amongst mature white pine and cedar trees, and overlooking Lake Huron, it offers privacy and peace. From the wrap around decks, follow a winding path, past the new beach deck, to your own sandy beach with crystal clear, rock free waters. The gradual beach entry is ideal for kids, and is directly in front of the cottage. One of the great features of a family cottage, is that they tend to have every item required to make your stay comfortable and convenient, unlike the pure rental cottage for six people with six bowls, six plates and six spoons. Our cottage has had over 30 years to accumulate all the necessary items. The fully equipped kitchen includes fridge, stove, a Keurig coffee maker, a regular v-filter coffee maker, microwave, toaster oven and all dishes. A BBQ is also for your use, as well as a backyard fire pit for those starry nights. Air conditioning will keep you cool in the summer. For chilly autumn and winter evenings, the wood stove offers a cozy glow with wood and kindling provided, in addition to the baseboard heating. In an added convenience, a new washer and dryer are located just off the kitchen to keep you out of the laundry mat on bright sunny days. There is a smart TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime and Spotify for quiet and relaxing days. The property is serviced with municipal water to ensure safe consumption. The open concept main living space leads to a large deck with spectacular sunset views. The main floor master bedroom has a queen bed. The upstairs "Lake View Room" has a queen bed, and the "Back Bedroom" has 2 double beds. A full bathroom is located on the main floor, and a 2 piece bathroom is located on the upper level. A comfortable pull out sofa-bed offers 2 additional bed spaces. To lighten your packing activities, all linens, bedding and towels are provided.
While away from the beach, explore the possibilities of the Kincardine area. It offers great shopping and restaurants with a picturesque harbour and pier. There's a weekly farmer's market and it's Saturday night Pipe Band Parade is a unique experience for both young and old. For winter activities, the Stoney Island Conservation Area offers many kilometres of well groomed Nordic and classic cross country ski trails, as well as snowshoeing. Situated just 5 minutes north of Kincardine, it provides beginner and intermediate trails through mature stands of hardwoods on the shores of Lake Huron. The on-site ski hut offers an extensive collection of older ski equipment to borrow for the infrequent skier. If snowmobiling is more your style, access the Ontario trail network through many locations in the Kincardine area. For indoor activities, our community centre is well equipped with a good pool, a gym, and a rink for public skating.
We are confident you will enjoy your stay at our lovely family oriented cottage.

| Fabulous winter retreat from the world. Very comfortable with a beautiful view. Well equipped kitchen, great shower, cozy wood stove and excellent beds. With total quiet, we had the best sleeps! It was hard to leave such a relaxing place but we have some newly created memories.
The beach is interesting to walk in the winter with ice piled up on the shore. There are also wooded cross country ski & snowshoe trails about 20 min away. Highly recommend as a winter getaway and would love to return in the summer. John was most helpful in making sure we had everything we needed.

| People think of cottages for the summer only, but being here off-season has been so restorative! The last few days we had snow, making the trees outside look picture-postcard perfect. John stopped by to clear the driveway and ensure there was enough firewood.
The cottage is heated and well-insulated. Sitting by logs crackling in the woodstove and drinking hot chocolate after watching the grandkids throw rocks into the lake -- their favorite at any time of year! -- was a treat. There are lovely trails to both the north and south. Walking south on the beach during and after sunset to see the pink light breaking through the clouds and reflecting onto the lake was a magical pre-dinner activity when the conditions were right. Overall, a marvellous vacation for three generations. Thank you John!

| Just want to say a great BIG Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. It was our families first time doing a cottage vacation and let me tell you from this point forward we are absolutely cottage lovers. Went for Mother's Day weekend and the weather happened to be not sooo nice BUT the cottage was cozy and warm and made the stay very homey. The views of the water are breath taking and the bike rides/walks around the community were very pleasant. Definitely coming back next summer if you will have us again. Thanks once again John for having us. Costa Family

| We absolutely loved our time at the Red Door Cottage. It served as the perfect place to have a cozy winter retreat. From the lakefront view surrounded in trees and birds to the cozy wood stove, it's the perfect place to rest and retreat. We really loved exploring the trails around the neighbourhood as well. John was super helpful and professional. We can't wait to come back one day.
