Welcome to The Corner of Nature. A spectacular four seasons cottage nestled on the shores of Fairholme Lake, accessible from a municipally maintained roadway and just minutes from Parry Sound. This Muskoka beauty includes a charming drive that leads to the expansive property and an abundance of privacy beneath mature Maple and Oak trees. Enjoy the serenity of nature from the newly constructed deck (2018), where a patio table and chairs, outdoor lounge, two hanging basket seats and a full size 6-burner propane BBQ make life a breeze.

Once inside, you will be greeted by a bright and spacious foyer, sunken dining room and a fresh coat of paint that hints at the detail found in every square inch of this great escape. Engineered hardwood floors cover the open concept A-frame great room and a WETT Certified wood burning fireplace will keep it all warm and cozy. The modern amenities pair seamlessly with the rustic vibe. Barn wood accents accompany a fresh white kitchen, new countertops and fixtures and brand new stainless steel appliances including a fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave and water cooler.

A well planned living space includes two large bedrooms on the upper level, with a king and queen bed, a fully renovated main bath and a two-piece bath in the newly constructed sun-room complete with a barn door. On the lower level there is a Movie Room with a flat screen TV, BOSE Sound System, plenty of DVDs, an XBox gaming system with a variety of games and two bunk beds (one with a trundle and three full mattresses) when all the fresh air calls for a little shut eye. The spacious laundry room includes a large counter top for folding, a washer and dryer, storage and a second full fridge.

If you are looking for a place that has amenities of a newly furnished interior cottage, but feels like you are in the middle of Algonquin Park, you will love the Piva family cottage.

Sitting on the private dock and overlooking Fairholme Lake, the natural view of the far shoreline features the natural beauty of Canadian shield rock and a forest of northern trees. There is almost no hint of any other cottage on the lake.

This Canadiana themed cottage was home to our 14-person family, including grandparents, parents, six teenagers and fur-babies squeezing the most out of the last week of summer 2020.

Although the cottage was a wonderful dwelling place, it was the property that everyone loved.

The footpath leading from the cottage to the waterfront revealed a rugged oasis of rocky outcrops and a large wooden dock lapping the waterline. The whole family spent most of their time at the water's edge, making use of the kayak, canoe, paddle boat and floating water mat.

We experienced sunshine and rain. The water system felt a bit fragile during the heavy downpour, however, the slight discolouration soon disappeared when the rain drained away.

We made use of both campfire pits with the highlight being dockside circled around a warm, glowing fire roasting marshmallows under a full moon that slowly climbed above the treeline to the melody of calling loons.

Thank you Piva family for the rental use of your beautiful cottage.

A big shout out to the Piva's this place truly is a private corner in nature. A wonderful place for a large family or a group we made some great memories around both campfire pits. The dock is fantastic for jumping and a great bonus was the large lily pad water raft. The kids enjoyed the zip line the tire swing and tree fort. The scenery is spectacular and the trees make it that much more secluded from everyone around you. The inside is beautifully decorated with a rustic vibe and the mattresses are all so comfortable. Thank you again for the great memories and your hospitality. The Costella's

Dear Lisa and family: Thank you so much for the positive feedback. We love that you were able to make so many great memories and enjoy your time together by the lake and at the camp fire pits. We put so much time and effort into making our cottage a place of comfort and relaxation and it the ultimate tip of the hat to hear what an incredible time you had. We hope that you will consider choosing us once again in the future. Sincerely, Ed and Lindsay

Our bubble families had an amazing time at Lindsay & Ed's cottage! Not only were they fantastic to deal with, the place was spotless and well stocked.
The walk to the dock is well worth it. The kids were never bored between the aquamat, zipline, and countless puzzles and games.
We rent a cottage or two every year, and this was by far one of our favourites!

Hi Tara: Thank you for the wonderful review. We try really hard to make sure that our guests are outfitted with all that they will need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Everything that we would want to see in a cottage rental is available. The walk down the path to the dock and the lake front is something special. There is usually a chipmunk or two that will run by and say hello. We are honoured to be considered one of your favourite rentals. This truly means the world to us. All the best to you and family. Many thanks, Ed and Lindsay

We stayed for a week July 2020. Upon arrival the cottage was spotless. We are a blended family with 5 kids age 8-14 , the TV Room was large enough for all the kids to have their own beds (mattresses were new and all very comfortable) and hang out , it was the perfect set up for us. The cottage is well stocked with everything we needed , the deck off the cottage is great to hang out in the evening, well lit and very private. Cottage is located on a very quite lake , we brought our jetski and it was perfect for tubing and water skiing , it was like having your own private lake. Life jackets are well stocked and the canoes , paddle boat and Lilly pad ect. were all enjoyed by the kids. Fishing was also fun. Lindsay and Ed were very fast to respond to any questions and even made the booking very smooth . Defiantly would recommend a stay .

Dear Cheryl and family: We are glad to hear that the cottage was clean and spotless for you. That is important to us because we know that it is important to our guests. There is plenty of room for everyone to sleep, especially in the Movie Room where five people can sleep comfortably. It is reassuring to know that you were happy with all of the amenities that we provide as part of your stay. Fairholme Lake is beautiful for so many reasons and we are truly grateful that we have the opportunity to share it with special people like yourself. Thank you for the review. We really appreciate it! Sincerely, Ed and Lindsay

What an amazing cottage! We were there over Canada day and the whole family had a great time. Our twin boys had a blast running laps in the mountain bike trail that Ed has built. The dock is very big and the water is great for jumping and swimming- something that we did lots of, although not a shallow entry off the dock. There were tons of non-motorized water crafts, which were used on the daily. I particularly enjoyed paddling over to the mini-island across from the waterfront. The inside was very tidy and comfortable with all the amenities that one would need. There were well laid out instructions posted everywhere, which were very helpful. Even though we didn't use the bunkies, we would have had there been more of us staying there as they were clean and well built. The owners were very quick to respond if we had any questions or issue come up and very friendly to deal with. We would return in a heartbeat!

Dear Jennifer and family: We were thrilled to hear that you had such a wonderful time at our cottage. Fairholme Lake is a very special place. Peaceful, natural and beautiful. The waterfront is the perfect place to spend some quality time jumping, swimming, relaxing and laughing. With 253 feet of waterfront including two access points at the dock and the shallow water entry for the canoe, kayak, paddle boat and paddle board, there is lots of space to enjoy nature at its finest. We worked very hard to make the inside and outside of our cottage feel like a home away from home for our guests and we are happy to hear that all the labels and clear instructions were helpful. Thank you so much for the positive feedback. We look forward to hosting you again some day. Ed and Lindsay
