Note: Mazinaw Lake is a lake in the Addington Highlands north of Kaladar in Eastern Ontario. The lake is situated on the upper Mississippi River. It has a perimeter of 49 km (30 mi)1] and averages 41 m (135 ft) in depth with a maximum depth of 145 m (476 ft), making it the seventh-deepest lake in Ontario, including the Great Lakes.citation needed] There is a narrows which divides the lake into two sections: South Mazinaw, and North Mazinaw, with North Mazinaw being larger and deeper.

Dan was an incredible host during a very stressful time for our family. After a flood in our home, we needed a place to stay for five weeks, and this cottage was absolutely perfect for us.

The space was large, comfortable, and extremely well equipped for a long-term stay. Honestly, all we needed to bring was our clothes and food — everything else was already there. As a family of seven with kids ranging from toddlers to teenagers, space was really important to us, and this place delivered. There were plenty of bedrooms, lots of room for everyone to spread out, and activities to keep the kids busy.

The on-site laundry was a huge bonus for a long stay, and the large yard gave the kids plenty of room to play in the snow. The hot tub was also a highlight and very appreciated after such a stressful situation.

The cottage itself is warm, cozy, and has a beautiful log-home feel that made it easy to settle in and feel comfortable.

Dan was fantastic to deal with — whenever we had a question, he responded quickly and always had a solution right away. His communication and support made our stay even better.

We are incredibly grateful for the comfortable home base during a difficult time and would absolutely recommend staying here.

Dan's chalet is exceptional! We selected it for an extended family get together half way between Ottawa and Toronto. The 6 spacious and well-appointed rooms were appreciated by all. Common areas were very comfortable and roomy. We had two little ones with us so the built-in baby gates were an excellent added touch. The hot tub and view over the lake was divine. Would definitely return!

This was our first time staying at GlenCanmon Retreat. Six of us stayed in cottage #2 . I felt like a kid at Christmas when we pulled onto the property, it was stunning inside and out. Dan was wonderful to deal with and we definitely will book again in the future.

It was just paradise. There is nothing negative I can say about it.
Firstly Dan is always there for you.You just send an email and it is answered promptly.
My grandchildren fished, swam,canoed and kayaked. Dan has included so many water activities that we had a hard time getting them in for supper. The cottage itself is spacious,and well equipped. We had some torridly hot weather and we were very appreciative of the air conditioning. We have been home for two days and we already miss it.

GlenCannon Retreat #2 on Lake Mazinaw has become a wonderful family tradition - we have been staying at this property since 2020 and each year seems to get better. Having a spot to accommodate our entire family with the luxuries of this cottage is a bonus - there is something for everyone! Dan is always available for questions and you can tell he takes great pride in the property to ensure everyone's stay is top notch! Highly recommend any of the GlenCannon retreats!
