Nestled in a peaceful setting on 1.6 acres along Paudash Lake, this cottage offers a sunny waterfront that's bathed in light all day and capped off with beautiful evening sunsets. Head out on the stand-up paddle boards, kayaks, paddle boat, or canoe to explore everything the lake has to offer. Down by the water, relax in the charming gazebo featuring comfortable patio furniture and mosquito netting—an inviting shaded spot to unwind and take in the views. As night falls, gather around a cozy fire under the stars in six comfortable Muskoka chairs. Excellent fishing can be enjoyed right from the dock. We also have unlimited wifi and Netflix for those rainy days or if you need to work remotely. Sit back and relax and enjoy the view from the deck or have your morning coffee in Hardwood Café. Launch your boat or rent a boat from Landing Point Marine just down the road. We are conveniently located only 10 km from the town of Bancroft. Bancroft has grocery stores, Tim Hortons, restaurants, a brewery, vintage shopping and more. The cottage is only a 5-minute drive to the General Store in Cardiff which offers groceries, fuel and an LCBO outlet. If you are looking for some adventure. Silent Lake Provincial offers beautiful hiking trails, biking trails and swimming. Eagles Nest Lookout in Bancroft. Take a day trip to Algonquin Park. Plenty of parking for vehicles and boat trailer. Beds are equipped with freshly laundered mattress covers and pillows. You will need to bring your own sheets and linens or sleeping bags.

| We have been renting for 25 years and only three cottages in all that time. Each time, the owners sold the property and were quite sad to tell us as we are easy and extremely clean renters.
We were unfortunately quite disappointed with our stay at Kates. We booked three weeks and left early. While the hosts were very nice, the description and answers we received to questions about specific things we were looking for were inaccurate.
For example - swimming is one of our top priorities and we were told that the lake was good for swimming. It is absolutely NOT! You cannot swim here. You can "wade" in at the beach but you cannot swim. The lake is extremely shallow, even far out and it is filled with tree trunks so you hit your feet when kicking.
We were also looking for a very quiet place. I spoke to the host about it being so close to the road and they said that the trees muffled the sound. They do not. It is not a quiet locaiton at all. Even down by the lake - you can see the highway and hear the constant sound of traffic.
Lastly, the cottage was not clean. I am being kind and diplomatic here.
The information provided did not accurately reflect what we encountered and we felt that some of the relevant facts that should have been disclosed were not.

Regarding the lake, we understand that swimming conditions can be very important when choosing a cottage. The lake is shallow in this area and, as with many natural lakes, there are areas where tree debris can be present in the water. We're sorry that this was not what you were expecting. We will review how we describe the waterfront and swimming conditions to make sure future guests have a clear understanding of what to expect. We also understand that everyone has a different tolerance for road noise. While the property is surrounded by trees and offers a peaceful natural setting, it is located on HWY 28, and traffic noise can be heard from the property and waterfront. We will update our listing so guests looking for a very secluded or completely quiet location can make an informed decision. We take cleanliness very seriously, and we're disappointed to hear that you felt the cottage did not meet your expectations. We have spoken to our cleaning staff. | Thank you Pierrette for an AMAZING week. My family of 4 (including a teen and tween) had an amazing time. The cottage was very clean and quiet and fully equipped with what we needed for our stay, including a closet full of DVDs, some board games, and lots of seating. Close to Bancroft (12 minutes), the cottage is perfectly located just off Hwy 28 with everything you need (groceries, butcher, Kawartha dairy, pharmacies, etc.) all within a 1 to 15 minute drive.
For a big(ish) lake, the water is warm and very shallow around the cottage, with a couple islands to explore a 7-10 minute paddle away. The waterfront is a great size facing West with a mix of sun and shade - sun available all day with a great view of the sunset (and the wonderful loon calls throughout the day). The waterfront amenities were fantastic including a canoe, 2 kayaks, stand-up paddle board, peddle boat, horseshoes, long dock, large fire pit, and ample space for the family to spread out. Also, the back deck and "cafe" offers spectacular views of the lake and is perfect for morning coffee and dinner.
Communication with the host was always timely and ensured we had piece of mind before and during our stay - the host even made a special trip to replace a broken paddle that we found upon our arrival to ensure we could maximize our enjoyment on the waterfront.

| My family of 4 (two children) took a last minute get away to Kate's cottage and it was the highlight of a challenging year. The cottage is lovely and fully equipped with everything we needed. The property lends itself so well to winter cottaging, a perfect sled hill, beautiful frosty views off the lake and a nice little walking trail through the winter wonderland woods. The owner was extremely responsive and helpful, and the proximity to town is ideal. We will most certainly be back!

| This cottage truly reminded me of a treehouse. A perfect cozy cottage with everything that you would need. The lights down to the water was perfect for late night fishing off the dock which by the way was amazing (worms are a for sure need!) The owner is amazing as well, had a minor problem with the heater in the master bedroom and it was taken care of within only a few hours. Would love to be able to come again in the summer months even though the fall colours were just breathtaking

| What a little piece of paradise Kate's Cottage is! Peaceful, clean, quaint and relaxing. We had a wonderful week at the cottage. While the weather wasn't conducive for any in lake activities, we thoroughly enjoyed the sunshine and fall colours, and nightly campfires by the lake. The owners have thought of everything to ensure your stay an enjoyable one. I would highly recommend this cottage!
