Come and unwind on our private peninsula with water surrounding you on 3 sides. Located on the end of a dead end private lane, peaceful peninsula may be just the get away you are looking for. Tranquil and surrounded by nature. We have lovingly renovated every room in the 2 bedroom cottage and the bunkie too! Featuring a hot tub with scenic views, your own private boat launch, access to the crystal clear calm waters of Smith's Bay, excellent swimming, fishing and abundance of wildlife. The space Our cottage began as two fishermen's cabins in 1905. Anglers from the USA and Canada came to fish the plentiful waters of Smith's Bay. Over the years new owners merged the two small cabins into one larger cottage and then in October 2018 we purchased what we now call Peaceful Peninsula. We have completed renovations on every room in the 2 bedroom cottage and bunkie which sits 60ft from the main cottage. Extravagantly large windows in the living room allow you to enjoy water views on three sides. The spacious deck feels as though you are floating on the bay. Swans and ducks swim right by. The hot tub is located on the deck off the master bedroom so you can easily slip in and watch the sun or moon rise above the water. Inside the cottage is light, airy and very functional. It is casual, comfortable and totally stylish. The master has a dreamy king sized bed where you can take in the amazing sunrises without lifting your head from your pillow. A large screen smart tv on a motorized lift is perfect on rainy days. Wifi is included. Our cottage would make a perfect honeymoon destination or retreat for couples looking for a private holiday. For families the cottage offers the perfect place to relax and unwind from the business of life taking in the natural beauty all around. Summer guests will enjoy the long days, warm calm waters, awesome sunrises and sunsets. Fall guests will enjoy seeing the migrating ducks return to Smith's bay in vast numbers. Last fall there were regularly flocks of 1000 Redheads, Mallards, Goldeneyes, Buffleheads, etc. You will also enjoy the flames flickering in the woodstove, or if you like turn on the radiant in-floor heating newly installed throughout each room of the cottage! Winter guests will enjoy the quiet beauty of snowfall on the bay with spectacular views, ice skating, cross country skiing, ice fishing and snowmobiling.
Guest access The whole property is yours to enjoy. It is one of the most private places around. private boat launch on property.
Other things to note The cottage is located at the end of a private lane. We love our neighbours and the neighbourhood has many children so please drive very slowly obeying all posted speed limits. The cottage has a holding tank so water conservation is appreciated. Please note because we are surrounded by water and nature, bull frogs sing and the birds will swim right by. In warmer weather we do get mayflies. They are non biting but are attracted to light and can come into the cottage if doors and windows are left open and lights are left on. The cottage is air conditioned so in warm weather guests can turn on the a/c at night and close up doors and windows to keep mayflies out. We provide a paddle boad, 2 kayaks and a canoe with paddles for you to enjoy the beauty of the bay! Please bring your own lifejackets and be safe while on the water. The fishing is amazing. Don't forget to pack a fishing rod and let the kids catch fish right off the dock.
Recent Guest Reviews "Ken and Rachel were awesome hosts, quick with replies and helpful information. The cottage is beautifully decorated with views of the water from every room! We would definitely recommend for a cozy weekend getaway!" Heather, January 2020
"The cottage is very stylish and cozy. The view is fantastic- we enjoyed sunsets on one side and sunrises on the other. Rachel was the best host!" Kristina, October 2019
"Ken and Rachel's place is even better than pictured. We enjoyed amazing sunrises and sunsets by the water. Accommodations were very comfortable, clean and stylishly decorated. Check-in and check-out were a breeze." Ann, October 2019
"We had a very peaceful stay at 'Peaceful Peninsula'. It's exactly as pictured but the feeling of being there is beyond what the photos capture. Wherever you look, you see water. We watched the sunrise on one end and the sunset on the other. The kitchen had all the essentials. The beds were so comfortable, the cottage was warm and cosy and spacious for our group of four. We didn't use the bunkie but it looked so inviting. Everything was very clean and tidy. The area around the cottage is very large and private with many areas to chill. The Fall colours were very pretty. We felt very welcomed with some local items that the hosts left for us. We will be back!" Paula, October 2019
"We just loved our stay at Peaceful Point! It's at the end of a dead end road and you have the entire point to yourself. You're surrounded by water and it's completely private to the neighbours. The cottage is very stylish, and the king size bed is a welcome bonus. This is the first cottage that we have ever rented that we said we would go back to." Nikki, September 2019
"Rachel and Ken's cottage is absolutely lovely. It feels so private and secluded; at night it's pitch black and perfect for stargazing and all you can hear are the crickets and the frogs. Yet it is only a 15-20-minute drive away from the conveniences of Picton, and surrounding wineries. The space was even more beautiful than in the photos, and was so nicely decorated. We really appreciated the homey touches like a jar of local honey and a bottle of maple syrup. Communication was swift and check-in was a breeze. Our only regret was that we were only there for two nights. We would have liked a third day just to enjoy the space and the amenities, reading in the gazebo, kayaking, or doing yoga by the water. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to anyone else and look forward to returning." David, September 2019
"You will not be disappointed, this is the perfect place to getaway for a weekend of relaxation. The views and scenery are stunning and the cottage itself is decorated beautifully and feels so cozy. If you are an outdoors person there are plenty of outdoor activites to take advantage of in the area. Ken and Rachel were quick to get back to me with any questions I had and provided some suggestions of things to do in the area. I went with a group of friends and stayed 2 nights but I wish we would have made it a week long trip as I really didn't want to leave all the beauty around us." Nicole, September 2019
"We had a great stay at Ken and Rachel's cottage. Their cottage was very clean and tastefully decorated with comfort and convenience of guests top of mind. Their attention to detail was exceptional. The amenities were fantastic. We especially enjoyed using the canoe and kayaks that were provided to us. Our daughters loved seeing the little bunny and frogs on the property during our stay and playing the outdoor games placed for us to enjoy. Ken and Rachel were amazing host who responded to our questions very quickly. Their property offers an ideal peaceful and private cottage experience and we highly recommend you book this cottage." Jeff, August 2019
"Peaceful point is exactly what Ken and Rachel's place is. We were there with our nineteen year-old twins and it was a busy long weekend but we felt like we were the only ones in the area. Very private, nature galore, great bird watching and It was great to get out for paddles on the canoe paddleboard and kayaks - hubby fished . So many nice touches to this cottage - too many to mention, great design features inside and out, very sweet touches by hosts. We enjoyed being there so much..." Angela, August 2019

| An oasis indeed! This was THE most beautiful cottage experience! The privacy, view and accommodation was beyond our expectation. Spectacular water view can be experienced from all rooms within the cottage. The large windows allow for breathtaking views, from sunrise to sunset. In addition, the hosts have designed an outdoor space to enhance the overall experience, including hot tub, fire pit and outdoor shower. To top off our stay, the hosts were lovely, easy to communicate with and very accommodating. We were surprised by the many added touches and details, each one adding to the overall atmosphere and experience. We can not say enough about this delightful find. You will not be disappointed.

This is truly a one-of-a-kind cottage! We thoroughly enjoyed our week stay and are looking to rent again.. my only hesitance in leaving this review is that it will attract other renters that may make this hard to re-book!!!

| This cottage was absolutely fantastic. It was bright and clean on the inside and the location was great. The property is very large, loads of space to run around with lots of seating areas depending on what view you want. We watched the sun rise and set over the water and were entertained by the plethora of wildlife. The location was quiet with almost no water traffic, neighbours are far enough away that you don't hear them and lots of things to go and do if you want to leave the property. This place is a gem and we will be coming back for another week again.

| The cottage exceeded our expectations. It is situated in the perfect location with utmost privacy and a fantastic view on the 3 sides of the house, where you can sit on the deck and watch the sunrise or sunset. It is impeccably decorated with everything at our convenience, and extremely comfortable. Rachel was very available and offered a lot of advice and tips before and during our visit and made us feel very welcome and at home. It is hard to please teenagers, but ours did not want to leave. They loved everything about it, but they especially loved the gazebo where they could spend some quiet time reading and enjoying the view. We were also able to kayak, canoe or paddleboard everyday and enjoyed the yard game that was available. There is also a swing and a lot of space in the backyard for young kids to run around.
Thank you for your hospitality and we can't wait to visit again

| Rachel and Ken's home here on Smith's Bay was nothing short of spectacular.
From the minute we arrived we were blown away and felt incredibly blessed to be there. The property is perfect - from the peninsula with gazebo and day bed, short stone fence all the way around (perfect for kids but also so beautiful), space for lawn games, children's swing, and second campfire area with sand pit; to the side yard which is conveniently separated by a deck right up to the water, making it a sort of 'adult only' area with the hot tub, outdoor shower, and campfire. There are water toys (canoe, kayaks, and paddleboard) and your own boat launch!
Walking around the property and home, you can unmistakably see how much thought and care was put in. The landscaping is beautiful. The whimsical and mature willow trees were wonderful. The furniture is fantastic - comfy egg chair, king sized bed! The decor is not busy, it's perfect, quaint, stylish, and modern while also maintaining a cozy feel. Everything is updated and nothing has been missed.
Aside from all the details, this home draws you in with it's magic. You will never want to leave. It embodies peace and fun in equal and full doses and it'll leave a mark in your memory that will have you craving your next visit. We feel so blessed to have been able to enjoy it. Thank you Rachel and Ken for having us!
