Point Pelee National Park is a ten-minute drive where you will experience one of the best inland locations to observe bird and butterfly migrations. Take a minute stroll to ice cream or a bite to eat, and bring your bikes to take advantage of great bike trails. The cottage is also just a five-minute drive to the beautiful Erie Shores Golf Course, kayak rentals, and go-carting. This cozy, clean home has two bedrooms, with a large deck to soak up some sun and relax just off the kitchen. Open and airy living, the cottage has plenty of large windows that let in lots of natural light plus great views of the lake. With one large bathroom, laundry room, and another fantastic view of the lake from the master bedroom. Plus parking for two vehicles. We have also changed our cleaning to include the use of an Industrial Neutral Disinfectant Cleaner, in order to better protect you and your family during this time. | We've stayed at Kristen's cottage on more than one occasion, and we'll be back again. It's incredibly clean, airy, very comfortable, and well-appointed. Totally recommend it!

| We had a delightful stay, with all the comforts of home. It was very clean and well kept. Our host, Kristen, was very responsive, from the time we were inquiring until the end of our stay. Would definitely stay here again.

| Very spacious and cozy! Quiet community, and lots to do in the neighbourhood. The cottage was kept very clean and had everything stocked that we needed.

| Yellow Cardinal Lake Cottage was just what we needed for a few days away. Spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and so close to the Pelee Island ferry. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to see the lake from the cottage and walk along the pier. What a fantastic location and cottage.

| The cottage was bright and cheery and clean. The location was great. We really appreciated the pass to Point Pelee as the beach in Leamington was all brown sludge and you couldn't swim in it. We were disappointed to see that the gazebo was no longer on the deck as we like to eat outside and there was no shade. There was also no umbrella in the dining table outside. We would have also liked to have had a blue bin; we produced a lot of recycling over the week and felt bad that we were throwing it in the garbage, especially since the garbage truck came and picked up recycling mid-week. Someone came and cut the grass mid-week, right while we were eating dinner outside, which was awkward. If the grass had to be cut, an email to let us know would have been appropriate (or ask when we were going to be gone). This cottage has many huge spiders (2 inches big- not your normal ?house spider?) in and out. One night, I killed 8 spiders upstairs in a matter of 2 minutes. Thankfully, no one in my family is too afraid of them, but it does gross you out. I am not sure what can be done about spiders, but just be aware. All in all, we liked the cottage but it could be better with a few minor changes.

Owner response: Thank you for your feedback. We do ensure that our cottage is very clean and prepared for our guests. We are happy to hear that you found the beaches in Point Pelee more to your liking. The beach in Leamington does get stirred up depending on rain, tides and wind direction. We fully support proper recycling and it is a big reason why we ask our guest to take their recycling and garbage with them. As the cottage is so close to the lake there are periods where there could be an increase of insects. We take insect control very seriously and do regular treatments. We are glad you enjoyed your stay, and hope to have the privilege of hosting you and your party again. | |
