Our Newly Renovated with New HVAC, charming, affordable and convenient Canal-side Cottage with 85 feet of water access on the boarders of Lake Erie seated on the Cedar Island makes a great choice for a stay in Kingsville, with the sandy beaches and clear water within a mere walk away and convenient geography allowing easy access to groceries and other goods. With a paddle boat, canoe and bicycles on standby, you may enjoy your time here however you wish to! | We had a wonderful time and would recommend Cedar Island to anyone who is considering it. That being said, there were a few disappointments with the accomodations.
For starters, the bikes and the canoe were unusable despite being advertised. We didn't bring our own as it was listed that they were available, but we almost sank in the canoe which had a hole, and the bikes were in terrible shape, no air in tires, and unrideable.
The fire pit wasn't safe to use either. The BBQ needs to be rebuilt and cleaned. It was so wobbly we were worried it was going to fall apart while cooking.
Some smaller things as well like the can opener wasn't working so we had to borrow one from the neighbour who happened to be outside; there was a piece of floor in the kitchen that felt like we were going to fall through; any kitchen stuff that we used had to be cleaned when we got there, etc.
Again, we enjoyed our stay, but felt like the listing included things that weren't really available to us. Most of the things that were small problems could be easily fixed, and hopefully that happens for future renters.
