The pictures are not as good as the real thing. We had a great two weeks, relaxing and enjoying the views from the dock, flagstone patio and deck. Alexis is great and was quick to reply to any questions we had.
They have two entry points to the water, which makes it easy to jump in from the dock or walk in from the stairs. Water is pretty clear, could see down 6 - 8 ft, so bring your swim fins and mask. The cottage is very nicely furnished; all the sitting areas and beds are in great shape. The appliances are all in good condition, bbq was clean and worked well. Lots of space in the cottage, living room and kitchen in one big area and the dining room separate. Big finished lower area for games, cards or just relaxing. Washrooms and showers are very modern and lots of pressure. Wifi works well. We rented inflatable paddle boards from Mad River Paddle Co and they were great to deal with. Wonderful hiking trails in the area, and the road isn't busy, so can hike/bike near the cottage. Will certainly rent here again.

We had a wonderful, mini, winter vacation at Graphite Bay. A perfect destination to celebrate a family gathering. We enjoyed the skiing, both downhill and xcountry, all with in a 15 min drive from the cottage. The cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable. All questions were answered quickly and with detail. Alexis was accommodating and helpful in every manor.
Many fond memories were made here at Graphite Bay cottage. I would recommend this cottage and look forward to the opportunity of booking a future summer vacation.

This is a beautiful cottage on Black Donald Lake. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you could ask for. The beds are very comfortable and the bedrooms are spacious even with the king size beds. The waterfront area is a great place to spend those warm sunny days and the deck is lovely for enjoying barbecued meals. Being able to bring our dog with us was an added bonus. The owners are super friendly and very approachable. It is definitely a 5+ and we look forward to returning.

Cottage is wonderful. Water and firepit are awesome. Kitchen is very well appointed.
Lots of huge windows with waterfront views.
The two main bedrooms are excellence, the smaller bedroom and basement mattresses are not ideal for anyone with back issues / or are of bigger builds.

Can't recommend enough!

We've rented a cottage in the summer annually for the last 20 years. This is the best cottage that we have ever rented for the following reasons:
i) the cottage is modern with all amenities you could wish for (including AC and high-speed internet);
ii) the cottage is far enough from each neighbor that it doesn't feel like suburbia;
iii) the lake is beautiful and deep and great for swimming and kayaking;
iv) the vista from the cottage is crown land, hills, and an island;
v) the neighbors are super friendly and welcoming;
vi) the hosts' parents are just down the road to take care of any issues that arise; they too are awesome but not intrusive (they removed our garbage and recycling from the garage without us even knowing!);
vii) the area is breath-taking with tons of opportunities for hiking, kayaking, and swimming. This region is much less congested than parts of Ontario closer to Toronto, which is great. Calabogie is a great little town with, among other things, a brewery and a nice restaurant. Renfrew is the closest 'big town' and is a beautiful example of small-town Ontario with a vibrant main street; it's a great place to visit for groceries or rain days (the NHL museum there is awesome!!!).

Overall, this cottage is by far the best place we have ever rented. We can't wait to come back again next year!
