We stayed at this cottage in early August and it is a great place for a family getaway. We loved the privacy and having our own access to the lake with a nice beach. The waterfront is vast and is right by the cottage offering excellent privacy and everything for relaxation and enjoying the water. The cottage and setting were perfect for our family with small children and grandparents. The house has a perfect balance of classic cottage charm (wood wall panelling, awesome stove fireplace) and all modern conveniences. The kitchen appliances are new and all kitchen equipment was provided. Bedrooms have a private walkout to the massive deck. Our stay was very comfortable and trouble free. The owners ensured that we had everything that we needed and encouraged us to contact them if we needed anything but we honestly didn't have much need to contact them - everything we needed was there and worked as it should. We loved making a fire in the fire pit. There was something magical about enjoying the fire while overlooking the vast space of Lake Simcoe and watching sunsets. Overall, we had a fun, safe, comfortable, and relaxing vacation at this place.

Dear Slava,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a detailed and thoughtful review! We are absolutely delighted to hear that the cottage was the perfect backdrop for a multi-generational family getaway.
It is fantastic to know that you enjoyed the beach, the private waterfront, and those magical Lake Simcoe sunsets around the fire pit—those views are truly special to us as well. We are also glad that the mix of classic charm and modern updates made your stay comfortable and effortless.
It was a true pleasure hosting your family. You are all welcome back anytime for another relaxing stay by the lake!

Hope to see you next summer!

This is the perfect cottage rental. The cottage has all of it's original charm, plus all the modern conveniences we have come to expect (washer/dryer, a smart tv, internet, etc). As soon as I walked into the space, I knew it was perfect. The classic cottage vibe completely matched my vision. Our week at the cottage was some of the most relaxing days I've had in a long time. Everything was so comfortable (including the beds!) and there are even A/Cs in 2 out of the 3 bedrooms, a large one in the main space and fans everywhere. You will want for nothing.

Mariko, thank you for taking the time to write a review, it is much appreciated and so helpful for anyone interested in the cottage. It was a pleasure hosting you and we hope you will return in the future.

We keep coming back for a reason - this is the perfect family-friendly cottage to relax, unwind and make memories! A special thanks to the hosts, Elizabeth and Doug, whose care and attention are evident in every detail. They make thoughtful improvements each year, and it's clear how much pride they take in maintaining the property.

The cottage is spacious, comfortable, and beautifully blends classic cottage charm with modern conveniences like cozy beds, a washer and dryer, and a dishwasher - everything you need for a relaxing getaway.

The waterfront at the cottage is one of our favourite features. The rocky beach is ideal for families, with shallow, clear water that's perfect for children to play and swim safely (just remember to bring water shoes). The lake sparkles in the sun, and the sunsets are absolutely breathtaking. The expansive and well-maintained lawn is another highlight. It's soft and provides plenty of space for lawn games, soccer, catch, or simply enjoying the outdoors.

Beaverton is just a short drive away, making it easy to pick up groceries or enjoy a few local gems, including the bakery, coffee shop, and toy store. Nearby Brechin has a great farmers' market and a go-kart track that's become a family tradition.

This cottage truly has everything we look for in a family getaway, and we already can't wait to come back!

Dear Marion -

It is always a pleasure to see you again, summer wouldn't be the same without you!
Thank you for taking the time to write a review, I love to read your insights about our lovely cottage,

Have a wonderful school year and we are looking forward to next summer as this one winds down. See you next year!

We had a wonderful time at this cottage! Elizabeth was very quick to respond to any of our inquiries and made everything a smooth process. The grounds at the cottage were very well kept and there was so much useable lawn space for our kids to run around and play. The inside of the cottage was very clean and well equipped for a week's stay. We especially loved all the windows and sliding doors looking out to the beautiful lake view. The waterfront was great for kayaking and the kids enjoyed exploring and collecting rocks, shells, and playing in the large sand pit. Nearby Beaverton was very convenient for groceries and the splash pad. We enjoyed day trips to Orillia and just over an hour from Santa's Village in Bracebridge. We know we'd have another amazing time returning in the future!

Thank you so much for such a thoughtful review! We are so thrilled to hear that your family had a wonderful stay and that the kids made the most of the lawn, sand pit, and waterfront. It's great to know you were able to take advantage of the local spots in Beaverton and enjoy your day trips to Orillia and Santa's Village, too!
You were wonderful guests to host, and we would absolutely love to welcome you all back to the cottage anytime!

We had a wonderful holiday at this cozy, clean and well appointed cottage with the million dollar view and breathtaking sunsets. It was a first time kayaking experience for 6 year old Jane who loved it and we loved the fact that there were kayaks for her size! Allistair, Christina, Merv and I all enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boat and warm water. Despite the cold weather and a couple days of rain, we had a fabulous time because Elizabeth supplied us with wood for an outdoor fire and wood for the wonderful indoor fireplace. She also recommended visits to nearby Port Perry, Fenelon Falls and Orillia. We appreciated the thoughtfulness and care put into this cottage and hope to return so we can build more memories here. Thank you!

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I'm delighted to hear that you and your family enjoyed the cottage, the kayaks, and the sunsets. It's especially heartwarming to know that little Jane had her first kayaking adventure here! I'm glad the firewood and local recommendations helped make your stay comfortable and memorable, even with a few rainy days. It was a pleasure to host you, and I truly hope you'll return to create even more special memories at the cottage.
