From previous guests - favorite things: - Throw-back to the cottages of the 60?s and 70?s but completely updated with walkouts from main room and bedrooms to large wooden deck overlooking the lake, new bathrooms and kitchen. - The sun on my face as I sip my morning cup of coffee on the front stoop - the sound of the waves crashing on the shore while I sleep, with the patio doors open and the gentle warm breeze brushing my face - floating in the warm crystal clear waters - suntanning on the dock - Watching the children delight in building sand castles and splashing in the shallow warm waters, collecting sea glass and skipping stones across the calm waters - playing games on the manicured lawns - marveling at the flower beds, and especially the amazing smoke tree - Walking into Beaverton for an ice cream cone, the children love the splash pad in the play ground, and we. Love watching the boats coming in and out of the marina, and some people fishing off the pier. - Paddle boating and kayaking - Enjoying the sunset with a glass of wine from the deck, or the dock - always mesmerizing! - the quiet, peaceful atmosphere, far from the maddening crowd, the cottage is at the end of the road, and the neighbours are not close, the cottage are not on top of each other - Our sanctuary for the past 5 years! Feels like coming home! - Our favorite time is September when the days are warm and crisp, and the nights cool, and summer folk have returned to the city - so peaceful!
Delight in the peace and quiet of this 3 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom cottage with your very own west facing, private beach on beautiful Lake Simcoe. Principal rooms have an amazing view of the lake and unforgettable sunsets. The grounds are beautifully maintained with sweeping lawn and flower beds. There is a swing set for the little ones, as well as a sand box on the beach. Enjoy swimming in the warm, clear waters or paddling in the two kayaks, or 2 seater paddle boat or canoe - bring your own life jackets. In the evening you can enjoy roasting marshmallows or a cool beverage beside a roaring fire in the fire pit.
For the discerning chef, there are two barbecues, one gas and one charcoal.

| We were so fortunate to be able to come up to Doug and Elizabeth's cottage again this fall - it is equally as lovely as in the summer. The water is still warm enough for a swim, while it's nice to cuddle up with a sweater at the beach in the evening. We also loved seeing the sun setting in a different location - each sunset highlights the beauty of the spot - this cottage was made for viewlng sunsets! With close access to groceries and everything else in Beaverton, we had such an easy time coming up for a weekend visit. This cottage, and the hosts' generosity, make for the most amazing and relaxing visits. Thanks again!

Owner response: Marion, We are so happy that you were able to experience fall at the cottage - the seasons change the experience, as you mentioned the sun sets at a different spot across the lake, and the water is enjoyable for a swim into early October. Thank you for taking the time to share your stay! We look forward to seeing you next summer!

| This was our fifth time staying at Serendip - and it's always a highlight of our summer to come back and enjoy everything about the cottage! The lake is incredible and we spend most of our time at the beach enjoying the shallow and warm water - it's perfect for kids. The lake and cottage are incredible and pictures don't do this place justice - sunsets are the best here, when the fading sun is bright and direct and the lake sparkles like diamonds. We loved eating every meal outside with that view! It's so easy and convenient to go here as it's so close to a grocery store, and the cottage is stocked with appliances and an incredibly thoughtful welcome basket. We are able just to come up and enjoy our family time. And Elizabeth and Doug are such gracious hosts and are constantly updating and improving the cottage - it just gets better every year. Thanks to you both for making this spot a joy to come back to year after year.

| This was our second time staying at this beautiful cottage and it was so good to be back. The setting is idyllic - gorgeous view and sunsets, lots of grass for playing and hide and seek (and swings!), a spacious and peaceful back deck, and a beach with shallow water for swimming, sand pit, and access to kayaks, canoe, and paddleboat. The cottage is very comfortable, clean, and well supplied. Our family had a great time. We also appreciated the kindness and quick responsiveness of Elizabeth and Doug. Thanks for a great end to the summer!

Owner response: Katie, Thank you for you review! It was so wonderful to see you again, and we are so happy that you had a relaxing week to end your summer before school starts up and all the hectic schedules begin. The last week of summer before school starts up again has been my favorite ever since I could remember, and at the cottage is always special with the first previews of the changing season. Looking forward to seeing you back next year!

| Serendip Cottage is an ideal vacation spot to spend time with family. A short drive from Toronto has you relaxing on a spectacular beach facing SW onto Lake Simcoe. Water is shallow for little ones and there is plenty to keep them busy... a massive sand box, kayaks and a paddle boat are easily accessed. The cottage has everything one needs, it is clean and spacious. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves on the lake is a bonus for sure as is spectacular sunsets over the lake. The five of us enjoyed a very special week together and Elizabeth and Doug are most responsive when needed.

Owner response: Gina - It was so lovely to meet you and Robert, your daughters and granddaughter. Thank you for the precious pictures you sent to us. You captured the essence of a relaxing stay at the cottage- the views, the sounds, the ambiance - all within a short drive from Toronto. WE look forward to your return.

| This is our family's 3rd time at Elizabeth's cottage. The waterfront is located in a quiet corner of the lake that it feels that we have Lake Simcoe all to ourselves! We enjoyed swimming and boating, and the sandbox with all the toys was enjoyed for hours by the kids. The property has a fire pit where we roasted marshmallows and watched the "epic" sunset. The cottage is small, but super clean and cozy, and the property is huge, and includes a swing set. Don't forget your water shoes for the beach!

Owner response: Susan, Thank you for taking the time to post a review. It was so lovely to have your family return, the children have grown so much and they are all lovely. Our grandkids had the time of their lives playing soccer on the lawn with your 5 grandchildren, it was so nice to see all ages playing so well together,?Doug was so glad that the soccer nets he bought on impulse were put to good use! WE look forward to your return next summer.
