Get outside and unwind at Cozy Oaks Cottage, located on Lower Buckhorn Lake in the Kawarthas, on the Trent Severn Waterway near lock 31 - less than 2 hours from Toronto or just over 3 hours from Ottawa. Start your day with beautiful views and morning sun rises from our tranquil south-facing cottage dock, enjoy all day sun and fun, finishing with toasting s'mores on a lakeside fire in the evening. The cottage has beautiful tongue-and-groove vaulted ceilings throughout. The fully equipped kitchen and dining area opens up into the living room making for an easy and comfortable family gathering for food, conversations, laughter, fun and games. The main living room has comfortable seating to snuggle up with loved ones, to read your favourite book, watch your favourite show, or play one of the many games, puzzles or DVDs. This area has an adjoining screened in porch that overlooks the lake. The screened in porch is a great place for an early morning coffee in your pjs, watching the water birds on the lake/ wildlife that share the property, escaping the midday heat/any Ontario weather, or simply enjoying the spectacular views and refreshing lake breeze.
Outside on the lake facing deck you will find the BBQ and patio furniture to share a meal. The path down from the deck to the lake leads you to the lot that is flat and grassy, great for a round of lawn darts, badminton or other outdoor fun found in our lake shed. There is a picnic table, fire pit, bench swing and large dock for gatherings lakeside with trees bordering both sides of the property providing some privacy and shade when needed.
There is a sandy portion on the shoreline where you can wade into the water and the lake bottom is solid and shallow. It becomes softer and weedy as you walk further out. There is a swim raft that the neighbours love and share where the water is 30 feet deep with no weeds. The small surrounding islands provide an area of calm waters and low boat traffic in front of the cottage and are also great places to venture, go for a swim and to cool off.
Take out one of the two provided kayaks, the two canoes, two stand-up paddleboards, pedal-boat or aluminum rowboat and explore the beauty of this lake. The lake is well suited for boating, water skiing and fishing, and has a large bay called Deer Bay which is particularly great for water skiing, tubing and swimming.
The boat launch is nearby making this is also an ideal spot to bring your own fishing boat and enjoy catching small- and large- mouthed bass, walleye, crappie, bluegill, perch and muskies. Catch one right off the dock!
The newly built dock extends almost 50' into the lake with a 16' x 16' area large enough for the whole family to enjoy. If you wish to rent or bring a boat of your own the dock can easily accommodate multiple boats that will float safely in our sheltered bay.
The cottage sleeps 6 comfortably (MAXIMUM 4 adults) as there are three bedrooms (QUEEN/QUEEN/DOUBLE) and one full, brightly lit bathroom with views of our mature treetops. There are a total of five ceiling fans, one in each bedroom and two in the main living area.

| Cozy Oaks was our first cottage rental and it did not disappoint! Everything was as described and then some. The cottage was fully stocked with everything we could have ever needed including items that we didn't even think of (i.e. roasting sticks/rods for marshmallows etc.). The cottage was very clean when we arrived and it is very obvious that Danielle and Adam take great pride in the cottage and are wonderful hosts! We loved having paddle boards and kayaks available for our use (along with other water toys) and the SunChill was great to use if you just wanted to relax in the water. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Cozy Oaks and are planning on returning.

| My family and I spent a lovely week at Cozy Oaks. The indoor space is very well laid out, and the kitchen in particular is extremely well equipped. The screened in porch overlooking the lake is a fabulous place to spend a few hours, especially in the morning and evening, reading and drinking coffee. The WiFi is fast and 100% reliable. Outside, the cottage is very well equipped for a broad range of water activities. We took many canoe trips, as the lake is peppered with many interesting small islands and coves to explore. As we visited in late August, not unexpectedly there was an abundance of weeds in the lake that made swimming out from shore slightly problematic. The biggest plus overall was how attentive Danielle the host was, always responding very quickly, even to my silly questions. All in all a fine vacation.

| This is our third time visiting Cozy Oaks and it's still a great experience. The cottage interior is comfortable and the kitchen is stocked with all we need and more! The outdoor space is a great mix of dock/swimming area and plenty of green space to play with our dog. We also noticed an improvements around the dock which has made the swimming/boating experience that much easier (truly a game changer). Our hosts area amazing and respond to any questions in a timely manner.
We couldn't recommend this place enough to anyone!

| We loved our stay at Cozy Oaks, Buckhorn. The cottage was so well organized and well stocked with everything you would want or need. The place inside and out was immaculate. It's in a quiet bay and very peaceful. It was great to have the use of Kayaks and paddle boat. The kids caught some nice sized fish right off the dock. We would definitely recommend this place to our family and friends!

| This is our third time renting the Cozy Oaks Cottage and we loved it just as much as the first time. Every time we come something has been upgraded or added to make the experience even better. The cottage has EVERYTHING you need! Makes it so much easier for packing. Our family loves waking up and heading out to the screen room to enjoy the fresh air and the beautiful view of the lake. The rest of the day we spend on the gorgeous dock or in the lake that is great for splashing and playing with the kiddos. It is also a great fishing spot. You can even catch some good sized fish right off the dock. The amount of things to do will keep you busy while the peaceful lake and beauty of the nature around you will allow you to kickback and relax. Our family is already looking forward to next year! You will not be disappointed if you rent this cottage.
