***Strict no party policy*** Overview: Escape the city at this modern boho-farmhouse cottage with breathtaking sunset views! This waterfront home features 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and sleeps 10 people (max 8 adults). It has a modern kitchen that opens up directly to the deck and is equipped with a double oven. *Now with AC to be used during hot summer evenings!* Details: *Renting to families only - minimal exceptions will apply* Located less than 2 hours from Toronto, 2 hr 45 min from Ottawa and 1 hr. 40 min from Kingston! Bedrooms/ Bathrooms: 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom lakefront cottage/home. 3 bedrooms have queen-sized beds and one with a double bed and twin bunk beds (great to accommodate kids). 2 bathrooms - one equipped with double sinks and a large bathtub and the second one on the main floor with a beautiful shower and direct access to the main floor bedroom and main floor living area.
Kitchen: The kitchen has a large fridge, a double oven and all cooking needs! There is a coffee maker with a grinder (uses whole coffee beans) and has all plates, cooking utensils and serveware you'd need!
A quick note: the icemaker is temperamental and may or may not be working during your stay
Living space/common areas: large living room with a sectional couch and 2 chairs plus a TV for evening movies! The dining room has a large table that can seat up to 10 with the 8 chairs + bench available for accommodating large groups! The basement has 2 large leather sofas and another TV as well as a desk area for remote workers! Laundry is also available for use as needed.
The outdoor space: the front yard has a slide and play set for kids and the waterfront side has a fire pit, a large walkout deck with both covered and uncovered parts (great for any weather!). There's a large green space for outdoor activities and the cottage faces west for the most breathtaking sunsets!!! (BBQ also available for use!)
A quick note: the main outdoor patio lights can be temperamental in the winter due to cool evenings and therefore, the potlights + main overhead light may not be working in fall/winter months.
The cottage is dog friendly but please let us know if you have pets in advance.
ACTIVITIES:
Spring/Summer/Fall:
*Fish* - Hastings was voted "Canada's Ultimate Fishing Town". You can fish right off the dock, or bring/rent a boat for fishing along the Trent-Severn Waterway.
*Boat* - Bring your boat (or rent a boat) and launch it near by to have it during your stay to explore the Trent and also check-out the locks!
*Paddle* - We have two paddleboards + one paddleboat that you are welcome to use during your stay! We have a few adult lifejackets as well if needed :) (The paddleboard fins are often misplaced between visits, we hope they are there for you, but cannot guarantee).
*Swim* - The bottom of our lake off the dock is a soft bottom. Jump in and swim some laps, or grab a floatie and relax while soaking in the sun!
*Cycle* ~ 7 minute drive or 10 minute bike away is the "Lang Hastings Trail". It runs from the town of Hastings to the town of Peterborough.
*Walk/Park* Ferris Provincial Park is located about 20 minutes away. It has many beautiful walking trails and a bridge that goes across the river with a fantastic view of the park.
*Golf* - Oakland Greens Golf Club is close by with other golf courses within 30 minutes as well!
*Wine tour!* ~ 1 hr from Prince Edward County so you can enjoy a day trip sipping wine! (Some of our favourites are Sandbanks Winery, Closson Chase, Hinterland and Norman Hardie).
*Spa!* ~ 40 minutes from one of the best spas in Ontario - Ste. Anne's Spa!
Winter:
*Cozy up by the fire* - With an indoor fireplace, cozy up by the fire and watch movies with the family!

Other things to note
- Non-smoking residence - no smoking inside! If smoking outside, please discard butts appropriately as there are a lot of children and pets on our property.
-No parties or loud music at any time - we have close neighbours and it's a year-round family home street. This home is meant for relaxation - not for parties.
- Guest violating the rules will be asked to leave and payment will not be returned.
- Great for families!
- Use of the indoor real-wood fireplaces is strictly not allowed.
