A family cottage for young families that many come back for generations. If your looking for a big party place this is not for you. We want everyone to have a great time but not at the expense of others.
A Lindal Cedar Log Home brought to Ontario from BC Canada in the 1970s. Complete with Douglas Fir beams and red cedar flooring. The whole cottage updated in 2017. All landscaping redone with a new large beach added across the whole waterfront. A sandy shoreline along Negeek Lake part of the Madawaska waterway offering over 100 miles of boating. Some of the best fishing in Ontario just out your front door.
The whole lakefront has clean sand which has a sandy slope into clean water with no weeds. The bullrushes shown by the dock end and is a great area for kids to explore. Ideal for young swimmers and safety. There is also a big swim raft out front of the cottage in 6 feet of water. The cottage faces south with a great view from inside overlooking the beach and dock so you can watch the swimming area easily.
New services installed including septic system, propane stove, propane water heater, propane barbecue, electrical panel, iron remover, UV water treatment, primary and secondary water filters, washer and dryer also new toilets. A dug well installed into clean sand offering safe clean potable water.
Sleeps 14 using 6 twins and 4 Queen mattresses. Bring your own linens and towels. Mattress and pillow covers prewashed. The 4 bedrooms are spacious with wood furniture to compliment the wood structure. A new wood stove with brick hearth, heats the whole building. Small electric heaters and heavy blankets provided if it gets cool at night.
There is 2 bathrooms with 2 showers all upgraded recently. The kitchen all rebuilt with new cabinets. Along with the new propane stove 2 new fridges added.
A canoe and a kayak with paddles and 4 lifejackets offered. A bench seat on the beach has kids toys in it for serious beach fun. A dock is installed that any type of boat can be tied up to after launching it at the Combermere docks a few miles away.
The grounds have many flower beds, brick walkways, chairs and benches. A large backyard inland offering a big campfire pit area and chairs. Lots of parking and area for a boat trailer. The site offers privacy.
The village of Combermere accessible by water or road offers a good variety store with LLBO. A pizza store, restaurant, laundry services, coffee shop, canabis store also in the town. Barrys Bay 18 km north offers many other services. Bancroft is 40 minutes south. Palmer Rapids just a few minutes away.
From the cottage you can boat into the Conroy Marsh which offers miles of a protected area, or take the Madawaska River which connects to Blackfish Bay and then Kamaniskeg Lake. The water system is great for swimming and the cottage beach offers clean fresh water. There is a raft floating offshore.
You can walk into town along Riverside Drive which is a very quiet street which many kids bicycle on. There are many township walking trails in the area. One trail offers a walk to the top of the hills in the area.
Pembroke is less than an hour away offering all the known box stores. Kanata and Ottawa are about 80 minutes east.
