Goderich Cottage paradise Melissa Contacts: mmcgrinder@yahoo.ca or 519-501-9927 We are booking for the winter, spring, and summer. We are now open for two-day minimum stays for winter and spring, but we have a 1-week minimum rental for summer bookings. Come to Goderich this winter for a beautiful country escape from city worries. Brave the winter winds and silly snow and relax away from the busy weirdness of life. Aloha. New Modern Lake Home meets Old Charm Cottage Country. You will be pampered with contemporary amenities while you escape to the natural world of yesterday in a tranquil mature tree-lined cottage community just five minutes from Goderich. Our sanctuary will protect you from the chaos of daily life and allow the power of pause to nourish your soul. Alohawell Lakehouse is a newly built (2021), 1900 sq. foot, 3 bedroom, 2 1/ 2 bathroom vacation home with an open concept kitchen and living room with vaulted ceilings, many windows, a fireplace, and high-speed Wi-Fi. The main bedroom with a king-size bed, walk-in closet, and ensuite bathroom is on the main floor and has an accessible shower. There is a main floor powder room and a laundry room with a washer and dryer. 2nd loft bedroom with a king-size bed and the 3rd bedroom with a queen-size bed is on the top floor with a shared full bathroom with a tub. The second floor has an incredible West-facing roof-top patio with a propane fire table, where you can have your morning coffee or sunset beverage.
In the back, a concrete patio with a propane barbeque and dining table with seating for six encourages more outdoor living at this Lake Huron gem. An East-facing pergola with seating for four is the perfect place to enjoy your beverages in the morning. Additionally, a fire pit with six chairs comes supplied with firewood. Extra firewood is sold a Km away at a reasonable rate. Please do not bring outside the region firewood to our property because of the ash bore.
We are located in the beautiful, mature family-oriented community of Bluewater Beach. The cottage sits just 25 meters from a community-access green space that is perfect for picnics, chilling, and glorious views of beautiful Lake Huron sunsets. A seven-minute walk to the private Bluewater community beach is accessed down a rough, challenging hill to the newly-built stairs. When you come back from your day at the beach, the "pretty town" of Goderich, or one of the many beautiful nature trails, relax in our home with one of two 55-inch screen TVs, Netflix, Sonos soundbar music system, books, acoustic guitars or the many old school board games.
As stated, there is high-speed wifi and excellent cell reception for those who need to work remotely. The rest of you can just chill and relax here in the majestic beauty of Ontario's West Coast. :)
Water shoes are highly recommended! The community beach is about an 800m walk to the water's edge. The last 150m are down a hilly rocky path Our beach is maintained naturally to protect our delicate shoreline ecosystems. This means that the water's edge can be a little rocky. If you plan to swim, bring a pair of water shoes to make your experience more enjoyable.
***Alohawell Lakehouse rents weekly during the summer season
But... we are open to renting for less than a week between gaps of six days or less during Fall, Winter and Spring. Please inquire to discuss this option. We generally prefer start dates on weekend nights--Friday and Saturday. Holiday long weekends will be a premium. Additionally, if you are a cyclist and riding the G2G trail this is the place to chill out or ride some of the country roads along Lake Huron (Goderich to Bayfield to Grand Bend, Goderich to Kincardine to Southampton--you get the idea :) ).
******Make Autumn and Winter memories for You and Your Family (during the "off" season) or that glorious special someone**

| We really enjoyed our week at Alohawell Cottage. We are a family of six plus two dogs and the cottage was VERY roomy, bright and well-equipped. I particularly loved all the storage space....I was able to truly relax as I didn't have to look at/trip over all our "stuff" for the whole week. The cottage had everything we needed and more; I appreciated not having to pack our whole house to take with us! The kitchen had everything we needed and I really liked that there were lots of plates and cutlery, so I didn't have to do dishes constantly because we were running out of something. We only did the trek down the cliff once, as it was pretty steep for us, but the main beach was a very short drive away, had a wonderful spot for the dogs to play, and sandy beaches on either side for the kids. We did walk across the street to the benches overlooking the lake each night for sunsets, which were absolutely lovely. George was a great host, always available to answer my questions and generous with the cottage and what is provided (books, games, sports equipment, roof top deck, BBQ, campfire to name just a few). We truly enjoyed our time and would love to return!

Owner response: Barb, Thank you for your kind words and the new books for our collection. You were a joy to host and are welcome back anytime. Hopefully, next time you can check out the sandy beach at Port Albert, which is only a fifteen minute drive. Aloha, George, Melissa and Hanalei | |

| This house is by far one of the best house in Goderich. Don't think twice before booking. The whole experience, right from interacting with the owners to staying at this beautiful beautiful house (with ALL amenities) was amazing.
George provided us all the local attractions and local info details which was very useful.
The house, it's interiors, the backyard - everything is just perfect. Very close to the beach and most restaurants and stores are just 7-8 min drive.
I'll highly recommended to visit Goderich and stay at George's house.

| Beautiful home. Such a close distance to everything Goderich has to offer. But far enough away for peace and quiet. Very clean, quick responses from our hosts George and Melissa. We will definitely be back.
