While the location has a great potential, the cottage was simply terrible! The cottage was in terrible condition, holes in the wall that were filled with spray foam, filthy dishes, old musty furniture, dark, small and smelly bedrooms. It was simply a waste of money. The pictures provided in the website trick you into believing you are going to a beautiful place - and nothing could be further from the truth. The beach is muddy and dirty, and the water is full of weeds and rocks. The neighbours are unnecessarily noisy. This cottage does not offer good value.

Donna, unfortunately both myself and Chris were not aware of these reported concerns both during or following your stay at SUMMERSWIND 7 months ago. In fact, communication was primarily with your spouse David who expressed his appreciation on several accounts for our timely communication and accommodations regarding allergies and your inability to open lock box with provided code. In addition, on the day of departure (as we do with all renters) we sent a direct link for you to easily provide a review. Despite the awful things you have personally accused us both of, we rent our cottage so others are able to enjoy our slice of paradise which several families have been able to do so as evidenced by the other reviews. If a white sandy beach is what you are looking for, I suggest you look outside of Barry's Bay for your next planned holiday.

Can't say enough good thing about our stay here! We had our entire family and little kids up and everyone had a blast! The beautiful wooded lot was great for privacy and getting away from any kind of city noise. The waterfront was set back in a small bay and gave everyone something to enjoy, we really liked being able to take our dog in the canoe and if we wanted some solo time we could go out in the kayaks. The cottage was sheltered from any harsh sun so it was cool inside all day even with 30 degree heat. It was clean, neat and had everything we needed. Loved the walk out deck for morning coffee too! Thank you for having us!!!

The cottage was private with lots of room for our family which included adults,children, and dogs. The cottage truly had everything needed and was delightfully decorated! It was rustic,tasteful and fun! Our family has a tradition of cottage games each day and this year we added axe throwing thanks to it being available on site. The kitchen had anything we needed to enjoy many family meals. The Wifi worked well which provided a nice backdrop for streaming music

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Summers Wind. It was the perfect place to unwind and refresh from hectic city life!
The cottage was beautiful and clean. The kitchen was awesome. The dining area hosted many different games in the evenings. The living room was huge!

We stayed here for one week over Canada day. 5 adults and 4 kids (7 and 4) and a dog! Kelly was very accommodating and quick to respond to our questions via email. The cottage is beautiful. The drive from the main road into the private cottage road is so scenic and exactly what one thinks of when going to cottage country. The cottage is clean and well laid out. Plenty of bedrooms to fit all of us. The giant couch in the living was a huge hit. So many of us were able to lounge at once! Kitchen and bathroom are updated and function well. The kitchen has all the amenities needed for cooking. The property is beautiful and the swing set and plastic axe throwing toy were a hit. The walk to the water is great and means we could keep an eye on kids and water safety. Water is shallow and kids could walk in and paddle about. Only two things I would mention to others is that while there are no neighbors to the left, the neighbors to the right are mere feet away. We didn't expect this. And secondly the water, while warm, was very full of mulch and seaweed. The kids didn't seem to mind. Luckily there is a gorgeous public beach just a 10 minute drive away and we spent many long afternoons there swimming and jumping off the raft. Having Barry's bay so close is very convenient. We went for ice cream and even ordered take out from Vito's pizza. We also drove 50 minutes to Bonne Chere caves. Very fun little excursion. Overall a wonderful week. Thanks so much!
