When we walked into this cottage, there was an immediate sense of welcome and relaxation. There are some cottages that just seem to wrap their arms around you and this is one of them. Located on Pristine Sharbot Lake, Peace and Serenity Lakehouse is a place to let the stress recede and the relaxation begin.
On entering the cottage, you are aware of the kitchen and dining area on your left, but you are instead drawn to the living room, with its end-to-end windows overlooking a forested descent to the lake. This room is spacious and comfortable, and has a TV for your group to enjoy movie night or rainy day entertainment. Adjacent to this, you'll find a lovely dining area complete with walkout to the deck. The kitchen has all you need, with stainless steel appliances, including dishwasher, adding to the air of quality here.
Downstairs, you'll find a level that perhaps appeals to the younger crowd - sleeping for 3 in the bedroom and a wall-mounted TV, as well as a 3-piece bathroom may find a group disappearing here for a while. You can check on them when you bring your laundry downstairs as the washer and dryer are on this level. Upstairs, You'll find 3 comfy bedrooms, sleeping 6 people. Everyone will sleep well here after a day of adventure.
OK, we know you've been patient...let's go outside. Stairs take you down to the waterfront. In addition to the requisite dock and swimming area, you'll find a children's play set as well as a formal fire pit for the traditional evening fire. Swimming is great, with a gradual entry, with deeper water further out into the lake. It's a fabulous place to explore by canoe or kayak, with islands and bays galore. A 3 km paddle will take you to town, perhaps to enjoy lunch or a snack.
What is there to see and do in the area? Well, the town of Sharbot Lake is close by for all the necessities and basics, and there is scenery everywhere you look. Less than an hour to the south is historic Kingston. If you're feeling patriotic, the national capitol of Ottawa is just a little over an hour away. Whether you live in the GTA and want to try something a little different than the Highway 400 corridor, or if you are coming from somewhere else and would like to explore the area or if you are in Ottawa or Western Quebec and want something close by, Peace and Serenity awaits.
