House Rules and Regulations This document constitutes the rules and regulations ("Rules") governing the use of Gilly?s Cottage (the "Property"). By booking a stay at the Property, guests ("Guests") agree to adhere to these Rules. 1. Maximum Occupancy and Additional Charges: ? The maximum occupancy of the Property is 12 guests. ? The stated price covers accommodation for 6 guests only. Additional guests will be charged at a rate of $25 per night plus applicable taxes. ? Children under the age of 5 years stay for free. 2. Cleaning Fees and Security Deposit: ? A cleaning fee of $200 is applicable for stays of 2 days. For stays exceeding 2 days, the cleaning fee is $250. ? A security deposit of $500 will be added to the total cost. This deposit will be refunded within 2 days of the check-out date, subject to the Property being deemed undamaged and reasonably well-maintained by the Owner. 3. Cancellation Policy:
? Guests who cancel their booking 30 days prior to the check-in date will be charged $200, with the remainder refunded. ? For cancellations made between 15 and 30 days before the check-in date, a 50% refund will be issued. ? Cancellations made between 7 and 15 days before the check-in date will result in a 25% refund. ? Cancellations made less than 7 days before the check-in date are not eligible for a refund. 4. Usage Restrictions: ? The Property may not be utilized for commercial activities or purposes that contravene any criminal law or governmental regulation. ? The occupancy limit of the Property, as indicated on the website or confirmation letter, must not be exceeded without prior approval from the Owner. 5. Pet Policy: ? Guests must obtain permission from the Owner to bring pets to the Property. ? Dogs and cats are permitted, subject to a fee of $100 per pet for a 2-day stay, and $200 per pet for stays exceeding 2 days. 6. Cleaning and Maintenance Responsibilities: ? Guests are responsible for cleaning dishes and returning them to the kitchen. ? Upon check-out, all used linens and towels must be placed in the laundry basket located in the laundry room. 7. Refunds and Liability: ? No refunds will be provided for inoperable appliances, amenities, or unforeseen circumstances such as power blackouts, water shortages, or natural disasters. ? Guests assume liability for any lost or damaged items, including linens or towels rented from the Owner or provided with the Property. 8. Guest Responsibility: ? Guests must be at least 18 years of age and assume responsibility for minors under their care. ? Guests acknowledge and accept all legal responsibility for any bodily injury or property damage incurred during their stay. 9. Smoking and Outdoor Areas: ? Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the Property. A designated smoking area is provided on the patio, and guests must use the provided ashtray for cigarette disposal. 10. Child Safety and Hygiene: ? Children should never be left unattended, especially near water bodies. Life jackets must be worn when near the water. It is not provided by the owner. ? Outdoor footwear is not permitted inside the Property to maintain hygiene standards. 11. Events and Gatherings: ? Events are allowed only with special permission from the Owner. 12. Security Measures: ? Guests must ensure that all windows and doors are closed and locked when leaving the Property. ? Cameras are installed at the front and back of the Property for safety and security purposes. 13. Noise and Disturbances: ? Guests are requested to refrain from making loud noises between 10 pm and 8 am, out of respect for neighbors and local regulations. 14. Property Use Compliance: ? The Property may not be used for activities that violate criminal laws or governmental regulations. 15. Additional Amenities: ? An electric vehicle charging plug (32A/32) and charging wire are available for guest use. 16. Guest Registration: ? Upon arrival, guests must sign in with all guest names and ages on gillyscottage.ca under the check in section 17. Owner Contact Information: ? | Although the cottage was nice enough, the photos depicted is not updated to show the condition of the cottage to date and there were many issues we had: firepit was in disarray, mould along the caulking of kitchen sink, amount of spider webs on outside furniture and hot tub, disrepair of outdoor furniture on balcony that it could not be used, giant boulders along the shoreline so it was not a direct access to the water as shown, There is also a blaring night light that shines up the whole back area that ruins star gazing and overall ambience. It was very irritating .The day of departure had a planned power outage until 9:00 which the hydro website states that owners were previously notified...and we were not informed. Owners said he didn't know, but that was his responsibility. We did have a good time at the cottage but it was not worth the price paid.

Owner response: Thanks for your review but first of all I never claim on my listing that you can have a access to lake directly from my cottage because it's not advisable to go and swim . 2nd thing is the light at the back yard can easily switch off ,I put that for a security reason you could have been switch off easily. As I clearly mentioned to guest about power cut between 4 am to 8 am that I do not know about it still you claiming that you lost your enjoyment at 4 am to 8 am in the morning on your check out day no one can believe it still I refunded $50 as a guest gesture not for any inconvenience coused by us and on your personal msg conversation you already saying that you enjoyed your stay and now you start complauning because of the power of between 4 am to 8 am only .
