Ripley Cottage Come Play & Stay 67 Mathesons Cove Rd
Yes, you may have to walk to the beach, but once you take the 150 paces to reach this beautiful oasis you wont have to share it with many, you will experience wide and warm ocean tides, and witness some of the most beautiful sunsets imaginable.
Located on Nova Scotia north shore, the water here is the warmest you'll find north of the Carolinas. There is lots of sandy beach to walk and explore for sea glass, snorkel, kayak, and the odd seal sighting! The cottage has 3 kayaks if you'd like to explore the strait by water, the seals are sure to follow you.
The cottage is equipped with everything that you need to make your stay cozy, 3 bedrooms, 1 Queen,2 Double , wi-Fi Alexa, Netflix, a screened in sunroom, a 3 side wrap around deck, updated kitchen, washer and dryer, lots of books & games, a bbq and firepit. If you have a family reunion, there is room for a camper or trailer with a extra fee.
On the deck, you can start out front with your morning coffee lit by the bright sun that will follow you around to the back deck for your evening bbq nestled in the surrounding birch forest.
On a clear dark night you wont want to miss the amazing stargazing as you sit around the firepit.
If you do decide to stray away from the cottage for an afternoon road trip there's lots to do. The town of Pugwash has SeaShell BeachWear & Gifts, Basic Spirit, OBriens Pharmasave, COOP local grocery store, MacFarlane Lantern Restaurant, Sheryl's Bakery, Inn The Elms, Nellie's grill, and lets not forget what everyone wants in the summer The Inside Scoop Ice Cream Shop right across from the park where if you're lucky you can watch a salt boat dock. The Thinkers lodge is a beautiful building of historic significance (we wont give it away, you'll have to go visit). If you feel like a round of golf absolutely Northumberland links has a beautiful course on the water, also Wallace River golf course and Fox Harbor
If you'd like to go further afield, Amherst is home to the Deanne Fitzpatricks rug hooking supply store which is a must visit to see one of N.S. foremost fibre artists.
In the other direction, Tatamagouche has a brewery, gift shops and several great restaurants to browse away the afternoon, you can even stop off at Jost winery for some tasting and to stock up!
Ultimately, the beach will call you back for a late afternoon swim or walk and to catch the end of another gorgeous day as the sun dips down for the night.
Ripley Cottage will quickly feel like your home away from home, you'll be sad to leave, but glad you visited
