Thank you for your interest in the Dalhousie Lake Beach Cottage. This a family cottage which will be open for the 2025 season. Each Spring the family members reserve the times they want to use the cottage in the upcoming Summer. The family usually completes this by early April.

When the family schedule has been determined the web page is updated to show the times the cottage will be available to guests. When the web page updates are done an email is sent out to anyone interested informing them that the cottage is open for reservations. To add your name to the recipient list of that email please use the 'Contact Owner' section of this web page.

Eastern Ontario. 30 minutes to Perth. 1:15 hours to Kingston. 1.5 hours from Ottawa. Nearby to McDonalds Corners and Lanark.

Cottage is 1200 sq. ft. and sits on a quiet country road facing the beach and the lake. Enjoy coffee in the morning from the front porch (screened with sliding glass windows), relaxing on the beach (beach chairs provided) and swimming in the crystal-clear lake.

Wonderful swimming, hiking, bird watching, fishing, star gazing, exploring the lake and forests, and so much more. Bring your bikes. Bring your boat. Water sport rentals in nearby Perth include canoes, kayaks, jet-skis, fishing equipment and pontoon and bowrider boats.

Golf courses nearby include Blue Heron Golf Club, Perth Golf Course, Mapleview Golf & Country Club, and Beckwith Golf Club.

NOTES

During the Summer Peak season rentals are weekly from Sunday to Sunday unless otherwise agreed. During the Spring and Fall seasons we give preference to weekly rentals but other arrangements can be considered.

Deposit of $350 at reservation.
The balance is due 30 days before check-in.
100% refund if cancelled 30 days before check-in.

Primary renter must be at least 25 years of age.
We do not allow any events or parties.

Additional overnight guests require prior approval.
Pets require prior approval.

The kitchen includes dish towels and dish cloths. Pillows, blankets, and comforters are provided. Please bring your own bed sheets and beach and bath towels.

Another great week at the cottage. This is our third year visiting. The cottage is comfortable, clean and well-equipped -- and the Dalhousie lake area and the beach are quiet and perfect for our needs.

This roomy cottage has been in the same family for generations. It is very well stocked, has comfortable beds, and there is a lovely screened in porch. The host is very attentive and helpful.

For our third year, we stayed after Labour Day, when life in the highlands returns to a gentler pace. The first full day was hot and sunny, but within a couple of days the temperature dropped, as in bone chilling. But not surprisingly, the cottage has space heaters and wool blankets. Snug as bugs in rugs.

As a natural consequence to colder climes, the monster fish that dwell in deeper colder water, rise to feast on dying insects. Last year's trophy bass caught by my son was matched this year by a northern pike. The day before, after raining 18 hours, the setting sun created a spectacle seldom experienced: standing in its mist, at the end of a rainbow as it dipped into the lake within a stone's throw from the beach across from the cottage.

The week reminded me of a Zen koan, where events are deemed as good or bad luck, when in reality we just don't know. The one sure thing was the cottage's amenities and its host, Kent. It's no wonder that a bald eagle now resides in a tall pine within view. We're already looking forward to next year's adventures.

We had an excellent week at this cottage. The size of the cottage was perfect for us, which included 10 of us coming and going during the day and staying overnight as it suited people. We are able to do this as we are from this area. The cottage was nice and clean and Kent picked up the garbage and recycling mid week which was great. He also ensured that we had everything we needed and that all was good.

The only negative for us (which is why I gave very good vs excellent)really had nothing to do with the cottage and it was something that I was well aware of prior to renting and that was that it is a public beach rather than private. Although it was not busy at all and we did always have our own space, it just had a different feel than we were used to. I was also uneasy with my grandkids swimming in the lake when there was a caution about swimming due to the water having higher level of bacteria. We missed being able to have campfires and a yard where the kids could play soccer and ball.

Overall, the experience with this cottage was amazing! I would highly recommend it!
