Welcome to A Cool Change, a gorgeous family-oriented, four-season waterfront cottage situated on three acres along the crystal clear waters of Lake Huron. Sunbathe or stargaze on our 1100 square ft of deck. Located within the natural beauty of the Bruce Peninsula and only 9 minutes from the picturesque village of Tobermory and its amenities. Minutes from the Bruce Trail and the Bruce Peninsula National Park including the "world-famous Grotto". Our family cottage is indeed a memory maker.
A Cool Change is directly located on 3 acres of the Lake Huron Shoreline. It is a quiet family cottage on a quiet, dead-end gravel road with lots of opportunities for walks and hikes. The Lake is crystal clear and varies between flat water and energetic waves. Water shoes are recommended.
A Cool Change is only 9 minutes from the beautiful hamlet of Tobermory which has Blue Heron Boat Tours for trips to view the shipwrecks and to Flower Pot Island. There are shops, dive Boats, restaurants, a gas station, a hardware store, a grocery store, the National Park Visitor Centre, and only a few minutes from Cypress Lake National Park and the famous "Grotto." The Bruce Trail is close by, as well as Singing Sands beach - which is managed by the National Park.
The upscale cottage offers comfort for your family. There is a BBQ for your use. The TV is a smart TV - just sign into your favourite streaming service! The kitchen is well equipped with the comforts of home. We are asking guests to provide their own linens due to the ongoing pandemic. We ask all guests to leave the cottage as clean as they found it. We do not charge a fee for cleaning. We do clean and sterilize between rentals. Cleaning fees will be taken from the deposit if it is not left clean.
Digital Nomads note: the cottage now has Starlink service! Superfast internet allows you to work while on holiday!
There is 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, and 2 sets of bunk beds (Not shown in the photos currently)
The Peninsula is famous for its hiking on the Bruce Trail and for its shipwreck tours. Kayaks/Canoes are available for rent at a couple of different spots in Tobermory or you are welcome to bring your own.
Motorized watercraft can be launched at the Municipal Dock in Tobermory. Launch fees apply.
Guests are asked to purchase firewood from local vendors so as to not bring invasive species to the Peninsula. Please do not scavenge for wood on the property.
Our cottage is fully licensed by the Municipality of North Bruce Peninsula NBP-2021-478. You can feel confident and comfortable booking our cottage. It is also managed by professional cottage carers at www.thebrucepeninsula.ca.
Sand beaches are located at Singing Sands, Dunks Bay or Lions Head.
We have neighbours who are also enjoying their property so please respect quiet times of 10 p.m.-7 a.m. and ensure that all campfires are extinguished after use and not left unattended.
Fireworks are not permitted under any circumstances nor are parties or events.
There are outdoor security cameras at this cottage.
6 adults max 2 children.
3 DAY MINIMUM
There are regulations on all cottage rentals in the region, we expect our guests to abide by the local code of conduct which includes occupancy rules.
