It's A Shore Thing is a fully renovated cottage that was completed in 2021, nestled in a lovely spot on the shores of Lake Erie. This beautifully renovated cottage in Selkirk offers all the features of home, with a beautiful sandy beach right out front! Our cottage is located on Lakeshore road and has quick and easy access to the beach directly across the road, with unobstructed views of picturesque Lake Erie. This beach has sandy shores and clean, calm waters. Enjoy the day bobbing along on a floaty in the water with ample room to spread out on the beach to tan. Pack a bag and you're all set. Bed linens are included in your rental, and we have a kitchen stocked with all of the essentials. Relax with the whole family at this peaceful lake house. Fall asleep to the waves, play games at the big family table and frolic all day in the shallow water. If need be, work lakeside with WiFi while taking in the amazing views and then gather round the fire pit for smores and cheers to a great vacation. The space is clean and bright. This house has relaxation written all over it. You are not far from grocery stores, LCBO and restaurants; but why go out when you can stay in and cook in the full kitchen or BBQ on the back deck.
A fenced backyard is great to keep your family safe and within eyeshot. Amazing view of Lake Erie out front and through the large picture window that is in view from the kitchen, dining room and living room.
The mornings display spectacular sunrises while the evenings present beautiful red skies on the horizon. Star gaze at night with minimal light pollution.

AREA ATTRACTIONS It's A Shore Thing Cottage is a quick drive to Port Dover (~30 minutes) and Niagara Falls (~1 hour) if you want to do something extra on your getaway. It is also located between two provincial parks - one 10 minutes west and the other 25 minutes east. Several golf courses are in the area as well. As in most small towns, Haldimand County has local bakeries, one of a kind shops, non-franchise restaurants and even fine dining. You can discover the Grand River and all of its beauty for walking trails, fishing, boating, and so much more.
PROPERTY DETAILS > 3 parking spots in single lane driveway > Flat lot with grass front and back. > Lake access via stairs across the road from the cottage property. There is an unobstructed view of the lake from the front of the cottage and community stairs on the other side of the road to access the sand beach. While the beach is owned by the county, there is no parking nearby so it is only used by the small cottage area nearby. > The waves are gentle a lot of the time but inconsistent. Safety warning :: water is not always predictable :: children should be supervised at all times by an adult. > Shoreline of sand with minimal rocks - shallow walk out for approximately 200ft (please note that conditions can change quickly on the great lakes - at times the beach may have a mix of sand and small pebbles) > The lake is good for motorboats, water skiing, paddle boarding, kayaking etc - there is a boat launch a ~10 minute drive away from the cottage. > Front deck (lake view): 232 sq ft > Rear deck (BBQ location, backyard view): 141 sq ft > Unobstructed shoreline, cottage faces south

| The cottage was very clean and well kept. The view of the lake was awesome. Mark and Ainsley are excellent hosts and easy to deal with. It's the little things like reading lights by each bed and USB ports in the lamps that make the difference. | Just as described and the photos do not do it justice! Beautiful 3 bedroom cottage with a huge front porch that overlooks the lake. Literally steps to a very quiet beach. Excellent communication and easy transaction with the lovely owners, Ainsley and Mark. Would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a quiet getaway close to home. Will definitely be returning next year!
