Dream a little dream of a lake escape at Luna Rosa Chalet … Nestled in rural Nova Scotia overlooking the sparkling waters of Fisher Lake, our family-built chalet is a place designed for slowing down, recharging, and savouring life's simple pleasures. Wake to the fresh scent of the forest and the serenity of the lake just beyond your door. Spend unhurried days swimming or gliding across the water by paddle. As evening falls, unwind with a glass in hand and watch the sky melt into breathtaking sunsets over the lake. Dine beneath a canopy of stars and linger by the glow of a crackling bonfire as the night gently unfolds. When the embers fade, retreat to your plush king bed and sink into the rare luxury of time standing still and nowhere else in the world you need to be. You'll share the lake with only a handful of other cottages, allowing you to soak in all the charms of country living in a slow paced atmosphere. Staying here offers the chance to experience the province's quieter side—discovering hidden gems, beautiful landscapes, small communities and the unhurried rhythms that make Nova Scotia so special. The Chalet Our cozy, open-concept chalet features warm knotty-pine ceilings and a nostalgic feel with modern comforts, including electricity, a wood burning stove and a fully equipped kitchen for preparing home cooked meals. Upstairs, the loft offers dreamers a comfy king bed and a reading nook overlooking the lake. The main floor bedroom fills with morning sunshine and features a comfortable queen bed. Across the hall is your 3-piece bathroom with and hot and cold running water. (please read below for important information on water conservation ).
There's no WiFi , no TV and limited cell service, making this the perfect opportunity to unplug, slow down, and reconnect.
To help you ease into your vacation, there is not much you need to pack, save for your food, swimsuits and and sense of adventure! Oh --- don't forget a good book to enjoy in the hammock!

During your Autumn visits, our indoor wood stove is the cozy heart of the Chalet, filling the space with warmth —a true treat! As the main source of heat, it's helpful if guests are comfortable using a stove or open to learning (don't worry—we'll show you the ropes!). Plenty of dry wood and kindling will be supplied for your entire stay, so you can relax and enjoy.
Adventurous souls will adore the uncharted feeling of this region; from stunning Taylor Head Provincial Park & Beaches, numerous waterfalls and forest hikes, to touring the nearby bison farm, many of which are all within 35 minutes of the Chalet.
Fisher Lake is ideal for swimming and paddling. Our floating dock is available from mid-June to late October, though the lake can be enjoyed year-round (brave guests even enjoy autumn “polar bear plunges”!).
Feel free to bring canoes, kayaks, etc. for peaceful sunset paddles on the often mirror-calm lake. If you prefer to rent equipment, we can connect you with a local outfitter who offers delivery to our doorstep.

Water Conservation
The Chalet relies on a well, so water conservation is essential . We've made it simple and stress-free—here's how you can help:
Drinking & cooking: We provide plenty of clean water for your entire stay—no need to bring your own.
Showering: Please limit shower time and use the "pause" button on the shower head while shampooing or lathering.
Dishwashing: Tap water is safe for dishes. Use the sink plugs and avoid letting water run freely from the tap.
Well monitoring: We closely track water levels—guests won't run out when following the conservation steps.
Dry season top-ups: From June to mid-Autumn, the well will be automatically replenished from the lake. Please do not touch the timer, cords or pump.

No WiFi
This is a unique chance to unplug, if you so choose as there is NO WiFi at the Chalet—perfect for a truly uninterrupted stay. Free WiFi is available in the village of Upper Musquodoboit, a short 12-minute drive away.
Cell Service
Cell service at Fisher Lake is limited, as is typical throughout rural Nova Scotia. Success with calls, texts, and data depends on your provider (Bell, Telus, Public Mobile are quite reliable).
Texts generally send while on property though a little patience can be required. Some calls may connect, but the lake entrance—higher in elevation—is best for placing calls from; this spot is 250 m from the Chalet.
In Upper Musquodoboit (12 min) or Sheet Harbour (25 min), cell service is excellent.

| My family and I have stayed here 3 times since October 2023. The Chalet is cozy, comfortable, and very obviously well taken care of. The lack of internet/phone service is something we can all benefit from in this time of having to be "in the know' 24/7. The beauty of the area is breathtaking whether you're catching a sunset or taking in the fresh air and sounds of the lake.
Everything you need is provided at the Chalet. Kat has quite literally thought of it all. One of our favourite parts of the stay is finding Kats Easter eggs she's left behind (treats she's freshly baked and items to take home).
On all occasions Kat has been accommodating, friendly and communicative, making sure we had everything we needed.
We can't wait to stay again in 2025!

| My oh my, there is nothing like being hosted by Kat at Luna Rosa. The place itself is a dream. As my son said, you get so much nature! The lake is beautiful, the sunset and starry skies can be dramatic, along with the rain when you snuggle up under a blanket with the fire going and a mug of tea. Kat thinks of absolutely everything. Everything! Such sweet gifts and touches for you to discover and be treated to. There are so many interesting things to do, whether waterfall hiking, canoeing the lake with a rental, fires, swimming late into the season, or just sitting and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. We've been 3 times and look forward to this trip every year. Thank you for your more than warm welcome every time Kat. It was so great to be back.

| We LOVE staying at Luna Rosa! We've been back several times and each time feels even better than the last. The chalet is beautiful, and being right on the lake is amazing; sunsets, swimming, and canoeing right at your door. Kat is the most thoughtful and gracious host you could imagine. I'm always amazed by the many ways she finds to make the chalet feel like home away from home. I can't recommend Luna Rosa highly enough! 11/10

| This place was truly amazing, the personal touch of fresh cinnamon rolls and honey, and so much more. We were able to arrive and relax immediately! Loved the record player! Lots of music to choose from. The lake view and privacy was beautiful, and the water was so warm for swimming. Kat was the perfect host and we will certainly be returning again! Thank you Kat for a great experience. It's a hidden treasure!
