Nestled in the heart of rural Nova Scotia, our chalet-style cabin gazes peacefully upon Fisher Lake. Designed and hand built by our family, we aim to create a space where one can recharge the soul and embrace life's simple pleasures. Adventurous souls will adore the wide-open spaces of this uncharted, waiting-to-be-explored region. Kaleidoscope sunsets, a bonfire's crackling dance, savouring meals alfresco, the aroma of the morning forest and the sensation of the lake's fresh water on your skin while your heart remembers how to live in the moment. Be seduced by nature and allow your senses to reawaken as the lake becomes your companion here ... Whether snuggled up by the indoor wood stove, swaying to music from the record player or drifting off to sleep in the King bed, the lake's shimmering waters are never far from view. With only a handful of cottages scattered around this lake, soak in all the charms of country living in a slow paced atmosphere. We have lovely seasonal neighbours to the right, yet our properties are separated by the tree line, providing everyone space & privacy. Be it a relaxing reset, romance, adventure - or a little mix of it all, a lake escape is truly what one makes it! THE CHALET An open concept design with knotty pine ceilings; we aim to capture an extended feeling of home, simplicity & nostalgia here. The Chalet is equipped with the luxuries of electricity, a kitchen, 3-piece bathroom and running hot & cold water.

We want you to focus on relaxing and unplugging - so there is not much you need bring along, save your food, drinks, swimsuits and water floats!
There is no NO WiFi here & limited cell service provides a unique moment to unplug from the outside world, live in the moment & reconnect with oneself.
Upstairs in the loft, a plush & royal King bed awaits dreamers and the adjacent reading nook becomes everyone's favourite space to escape to with a good book. An equally comfy Queen bed rests in the bedroom on the main floor where morning sunshine dances in.
An indoor wood stove is not only a little luxury, it is the primary source of heat. It easily keeps the Chalet warm & cozy during months when there's a chill in the air. Guests should be comfortable and confident using a wood stove - or willing to learn; we will happily teach you! Wood & kindling will be in ample supply for the duration of your stay.
Fisher Lake is absolutely wonderful for swimming! Our floating dock will be in the water mid June - late September, though you are welcome to enjoy the water at any time! Past guests have raved about their invigorating polar bear plunges and then sprinting back to the Chalet to warm up by the fire. (Autumn lakeside has its many charms!).
You're encouraged to bring your canoes, kayaks and S'UP boards; Fisher Lake makes for effortless paddles, especially at sunset when the lake often turns mirror-like.
The bonfire pit, BBQ with propane and the hammock are always onsite to maximize the joys of being outdoors!

* WATER CONSERVATION *... The Chalet operates on a well, not unlimited city water.
---- The Chalet has a natural well and water conservation is essential.
Guests are kindly asked to embrace this element of rural life and follow the steps we have in place. Here is how we make it simple & stress free while on vacation!
We supply plenty of clean water for all your drinking and cooking needs. You will be stocked for your entire stay; no need to worry about lugging it along - we do that for you! =)
Well water only supplies the toilet, sinks and quick rinses in the shower. Please limit showers/showering time and opt to use the "pause" button on the shower head to pause the water flow while shampooing/lathering up.
Tap water can be used for washing your dishes. Please use the provided sink plugs and DO NOT let the tap water run freely while washing/rinsing dishes.
During times of extreme drought, we will provide water for washing & rinsing dishes. We will inform you prior to check-in if this practice is in place.
Rest assured, we monitor the well level closely; no guest is at risk of running low on water when following the steps.
As precaution during dry spells, (typical June - early Autumn), we are lucky to have the ability to replenish the well using fresh water from the lake, if needed. The benefits of living lakeside!
The well top-up would happen automatically, via a timer - please do not touch or unplug this device or the extension cord if they are in place.
THE INDOOR WOOD STOVE
---- An indoor wood stove keeps you warm & cozy while at the Chalet.
Keep in mind, this is the primary source of heating the space and one should be comfortable using the stove or willing to learn! (We'll happily show you!). Plenty of dry wood + kindling will be supplied for your entire stay.
OUR LOCATION
- Luna Rosa Chalet is located off Highway 224 on Fisher Lake, which is about halfway between the villages of Sheet Harbour and Upper Musquodoboit. Your vacation time is valuable; please research our location to determine if our rural locale is the best fit for your getaway!
Though rural, our location offers the best of our province's "water worlds" - lakefront living, a short drive to the ocean, waterfalls to explore and near the head waters of the beautiful Musquodoboit River.
- Don't forget ... Spring & early Summer bring the return of the mosquito to Nova Scotia. If you enjoy the outdoors, this comes as no surprise to you!
The lake breeze generally keeps bugs at bay, yet we recommend everyone bring their favourite bug repellent, especially if exploring nearby waterfalls!
- A visit to gorgeous Taylor Head Provincial Park is not to be missed. The hiking trails and beaches of this unique area are a 30- minute drive from the Chalet and a sublime day trip you will not forget!
- With multiple waterfalls nearby, and their close proximity to one another, make another fun-filled excursion.

* CELL SERVICE * - This is your chance to UNPLUG!
- Cell service is available, yet limited; reception will largely depend on your service provider.
The strongest reception is normally 200m from the Chalet, at the lake entrance off Highway 224.
- There is NO Wifi, internet or telephone at the Chalet. Send important emails/texts before arriving and enjoy activating that "out of office" reply!
- In Sheet Harbour (20-minute drive) one can access free Wifi at the public library, the wonderful Henley House Pub and the local microbrewery, Sober Island. (Craft brew lovers should not miss a visit there!).

| Kat's cottage is the perfect getaway from life's busy schedule. My husband and I, as well as family members, have been to Kat's many times over the past 5 years or so. It is the perfect 'switch off and regenerate' place. No TV, no wifi, you even have to walk a short way to make telephone calls. I'm a big fan of this. We fill our time with reading books, playing games, working on puzzles, BBQing and simply staring at the lake, starry nights and wood-burning fires. Kat goes above and beyond as a host. She is generous in ways that are so appreciated. Everything is well-equipped, kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, it's all there. Beautifully clean. She really has thought of everything. I would highly recommend this cottage. Go, enjoy, unplug.

| My mom and I absolutely love this place! This was our third year in a row coming for a little getaway, and we simply have not met a more thoughtful and generous host than Kat! The chalet is so clean and beautiful, with attention and care given to every single detail. It feels comfortable and inviting from the moment we arrive, and we bask in the time to just relax, catch up, enjoy the view, and treat ourselves. The property is stunning and overall, we can't recommend this place enough. We'll be back again, for sure!

| This place is absolutely magical! The beautiful cozy chalet with a stunning view of the lake offers a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of busy life. This was our 6th stay at Luna Rosa and each time is just as beautiful as the last. Kat is an incredible host who has thought of everything that will allow you to unplug and enjoy your stay. | We have stayed at Luna Rosa several times and it is always a very special experience. From the moment you walk in you can tell the love and care that went to preparing the chalet for your visit. The host is amazing with so many special touches and notes and things only she could think of! It is off grid for cell service which we love and the lake is amazing. We always get a great sleep and it is just so restful and relaxing. The daybed outside in the warmer months is my favorite amenity but all of it, is something that shouldn't be missed!
