This beautiful Lake Simcoe cottage rental offers sunny, southern exposure, and offers the traditional cottage experience with a waterfront, fire pit, plenty of watercraft and many great seating areas to enjoy time as a group as well as a games room, with a pool table. Ross Lakehouse is located near the north shore of Lake Simcoe, in McPhee Bay. It's conveniently close to stores, entertainment, restaurants and skiing in Orillia (15 minutes), Casino Rama (10 minutes), Mount St. Louis ski resort (30 minutes), and under 2 hours from the GTA. Inside of this waterfront cottage rental, you'll find a spacious, fully equipped kitchen that includes a dishwasher, comfortable seating in the living room, a smart TV (no cable). A great added feature is the loft games room, with a pool table/ ping pong table, games table, Nintendo Wii system, and another TV, making it perfect for the whole group no matter the age. Toddler and children's books and toys are also available.
For comfortable sleeping accommodations, there are 2 bedrooms. The main bedroom has 2 double sized beds, with a 2-piece bathroom ensuite complete with washer and dryer. The second bedroom has a queen bed. A Pack 'N Play with sheet and booster seat, and an inflatable toddler bed are available for those with small children. The loft has an additional sofa bed plus a futon. There are 2 bathrooms (1 4-piece and 1 2-piece ensuite) in the cottage, and both are on the ground floor.
Outside, there's a verandah facing the water, with a hanging swing - a great, shady place to get out of the heat, enjoy a morning coffee or a good read! One hard to find, but often requested feature, is a fenced in back yard, and this cottage even has that - perfect for keeping children and pets safely away from the waterfront when you're not able to supervise them or pets getting loose. The property is flat and level, making it ideal for lawn games, and easier for anyone with mobility challenges to navigate. Take the 3 kayaks out for a paddle, or try your hand at Stand Up Paddleboarding, or simply relax and enjoy the waterfront views, and the peace and quiet.
Great in both the summer and winter. As a winter cottage rental, enjoy Mount St. Louis for amazing skiing (30 minutes away), great snowmobiling trails nearby (and on the lake) and ice fishing which Lake Simcoe is well known for. In the summer, great beach swimming and hiking is only a short drive or boat ride away at McRae or Mara Provincial Parks. There are also lots of municipal beaches, including a great one at Tudhope Park! This is a 65-acre park with many amenities, including an accessible playground, beach, beach volleyball, splash pad, and trail. Park there and walk to the right around the lake to view the Gordon Lightfoot monument. Mariposa Market in downtown Orillia is a must see, and there are good farmer's markets on Saturday mornings too, year-round. Golf at one of the many local golf courses or spend a little time on a rainy day at Casino Rama (10 minutes). Enjoy some nature trails at one of the nearby Provincial Parks - Mara Provincial Park (10 minutes), McRae Point Provincial Park (10 minutes), or Bass Lake Provincial Park (20 minutes). More active options include Hardwood Ski and Bike (30 minutes), offering mountain biking and cross-country skiing, Mount St. Louis Moonstone ski resort (30 minutes) and Copeland Forest (40 minutes) which has many exciting trails. In the winter, take the kids for a day trip and pay an early visit to Santa and Mrs. Claus at Santa's Village in Bracebridge (just under one hour from the cottage)!. Ice hut rentals are available for $25/pp half day and $40/pp full day at A Breath of Fresh Air. Guided snowmobile tours can be arranged at Snowmobile and ATV Tours.

Waterfront
The entry to the water is shallow, making it a great spot to easily take off from the kayaks or SUP. Given the shallow water it can be weedy, so it is not ideal for swimming and water shoes are recommended. There are weed mats in place to keep the weeds under control and provide a better swimming experience. Entry to the water is off the dock and there's a ladder for easier access or by a pebble entry to the right of the dock.
