The Shugie Shack is a beautiful waterfront cottage located on Canal Lake right on the Trent System. It has a spacious open concept living/ dining/kitchen area with large windows for a magnificent view of the lakefront. There is a side patio where the BBQ is located and a big picnic table. The large waterfront deck has a hot tub and plenty of seating to enjoy outside eating. There are 2 bathrooms, one with a walk in shower and a nice big air jet tub and the other with a standup shower. There is a washer and dryer located in the laundry room where the microwave is stationed.
The road front yard is very spacious to enjoy some outdoor games or activities. This is also where a treehouse is located for some fun with the little ones. The waterfront yard has a big fire pit to enjoy those nights when its not too chilly and when it is too chilly, you can always stoke a fire in the wood burning stove in the living room.
Enjoy some time with family and friends and a weekend or weekly getaway. The sunsets are one of a kind here at the Shugie Shack, no 2 are the same. On a clear night, the stars are abundant and clear.

Large cedar deck with enough patio chairs and dining tables for 14 guests!
Muskoka chairs for viewing the sunset on the dock and around the fire.
Floating dock for jumping in the water or simply sunbathing.
Large firepit for evenings roasting marshmallows under the stars (we provide a small amount of wood, but guests are asked to bring their own wood)

Knee deep water upon entering which is ideal for young children to splash around in.

Front porch with 2 Muskoka chairs to enjoy some quiet time.
**ENJOY THE WATER**

**ADDITIONAL FEATURES**
The cottage has a washer and dryer.
The cottage has unlimited high speed internet.
Kitchen includes fridge, dishwasher, cook top, double wall oven, microwave, toaster, Keurig coffee maker, kettle and all cookware and tableware.
Outdoors we have a barbecue and will provide each guest with a full propane tank to last the week.
Fourth bedroom also has a small kitchen with a full sized fridge where guests can stock up on cold beverages for the week!
Lots of indoor board games, puzzles and books to read while at the cottage.
Binoculars and bird book for the bird watchers!
Large dock for anyone wanting to try their hand at fishing, but remember you will need a fishing license.

Located 1.5 hour drive from Toronto in Kirkfield, Ontario.
Weekly rentals available year round. Weekly rentals run Friday to Friday. Weekend rentals available off season.

Western Trent 9 hole Golf Course is an 8 minute drive from the cottage.
Public boat launch is a 5 minute drive and the cottage has a dock to tie up boats.
Cottage has capacity for 9 guests with 3 queen beds, and bunk beds with 1 double bed below and 1 single bed above.
Naturipe Food Market Convenience store is a 6 minute drive and sells bait, firewood, groceries and now even has an LCBO.
Large array of birds for those avid bird watchers including Osprey, Bald Eagles, Loons, Ducks, Heron and other waterfowl.
The Trent Severn Waterway Lift Lock is a 10 minute drive from the cottage and is the second highest hydraulic lift lock in the world with a lift of 15 metres (49 ft).
Great fishing with the most popular species being Largemouth bass, Northern pike, and Yellow perch.
Feel like a beach day? Balsam Lake Provincial Park is only 20 minutes away and you can access the Park for day time use.

| Our stay at the Shugie Shack was great! The cottage has an amazing view, it's very well equipped. Plenty of activities for kids and adults to enjoy the water front. The hot tub facing the water was a plus. Moira was a great host and was always available. We had a great time, and would definitely come back!!!!
