Treat yourself to a stay in a chic and private open concept cottage perched like a treehouse overlooking the azure waters of Lake Huron. This home comfortably sleeps 6 people and has a relaxed California beach vibe, which is ideal for enjoying the world famous sunsets from the large deck or the beach. There are 100 stairs from the driveway level to the beach and the cottage is exactly halfway down the bluff. Located midway between Bayfield and Goderich, and each town has it's own unique charm and attractions. If you tire of BBQing, there are decent restaurants nearby, and lots of takeout. There are several good hiking trails in the area and we have found the road biking excellent. The beach is undeveloped and quite private and you can walk quite far in each direction. Use of 2 paddle boards and a kayak included. Plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas. Large deck with sectional sofas and 6 person dining table affords gorgeous western views and you can fall asleep to the sound of lapping waves. One of the best features is the outdoor shower (with hot water) for those post-swim rinses under the moonlight. The lake breezes and 5 ceiling fans will keep you comfortable at night and we have never needed the AC. A gas fireplace takes care of any unseasonal chills in cooler months. Decent wifi allows streaming if you bring your own device or just enjoy our carefully curated selection of cheesy 90's DVD's. For music, connect your phone to the stereo or try the CD mixes already loaded. Duvets, blankets, hand and kitchen towels are provided. Please bring your own bed linens (1 Queen, 2 Singles side by side, and a Double) and bath and beach towels.
Perfect for a family, grandparents, couples, women's getaway, etc.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE 1. Not suitable for people with mobility or health issues due to location halfway between road level and beach and total of 100 stairs. 2. Not suitable for small children due to absence of lawn play area. 3. Beach conditions vary with season and recent storms. Mostly pebbly, occasionally sandy, definitely bring water shoes. Unlike cottages on small lakes, there are no docks, decks or piers visible, so it feels quite unspoiled. Since you can't see the other side (Michigan peninsula) it's more like being on the ocean. There is a ravine a few hundred feet south which locals who are not on the water use to access the beach, but it's not advertised so it feels quite private when you're on the beach. Typically the only people we encounter are the occasional walkers, or a neighbour. One can walk for about an hour in either direction (north and south, since we face west directly) for exercise, dog walking, rock collecting, etc. 4. The water comes from a well and we have drank it for years without any problems but we recommend bringing your own drinking water. Sulphur and iron filters were installed in October 2022 and are working well. 5. Our property consists of 2 homes, the principal cottage we use which is at the driveway level and this rental cottage halfway down the bluff. While the rental cottage is quite private, we will encounter each other when we use the stairs to go to the beach or you need to use your car. We are usually there on weekends and rarely on weekdays. 6. Because the driveway is shared, maximum of 2 vehicles per rental group. 7. Primary renter has to be over 25 years, and maximum of 6 people please with no outside guests. This is a quiet family oriented area so no loud parties or events please. 8. Strictly non-smoking. 9. Fires permitted on beach only, and only if allowed by Ministry notifications; please follow all safety guidelines.

Note: Located on Lake Huron almost exactly midway between Bayfield and Goderich, less than 3 h. from most of the GTA and about 2 h. from Burlington/Hamilton. There are several good driving routes on quiet country roads which are the same speed as Hwy.8, but you don't have to go through the towns (unless you want to), and unlike travel to Muskoka/Haliburton areas, traffic is a non-issue, even on long weekends. | We had such a wonderful stay at Gray Havens, Gagan and Samiel's beautiful cottage! The place is very clean, cozy, open concept, and thoughtfully designed. The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds with adequate blankets and pillows, large walk in shower and a spacious deck overlooking the lake. Beach chairs, umbrellas, kayak and paddleboards are readily available. There's an outdoor shower with hot water and a place to wash sand off your feet or hose down your dog. Wifi worked quite well in the cottage. We had cell phone issues in the cottage but calls were possible near the parking area at the top of the stairway. This cottage is built on the side of the bluff, just 50 steps from the sandy beach with gorgeous views of the lake and beautiful sunsets. During the week, the beach feels private, with few visitors, no motor boats, and one can walk miles in either direction. The shoreline is sandy, gravel and rocky mix, so water shoes are needed and entry into the lake is challenging because of large rocks in the shallow water. It was easier to enter the lake using a flotation device or tube. The beach is dog friendly and there are also residential streets close by for dog walking. We appreciated how much care and attention Gagan and Samiel put into making the space welcoming. They stayed on the property overnight and were very attentive and accommodating to ensure that we were well settled in. We highly recommend this property and would return!

| We recently had the pleasure of staying at this lovely cottage. The size was perfect for our family of four, including our adult children and their partners- 6 ppl in total. We all had plenty of space to relax and enjoy ourselves. The private beach was a major highlight beautifully secluded with stunning views and sunsets that we looked forward to each evening. Water shoes were needed even for our mini-golden doodle. The kitchen was week-equipped and we enjoyed the large patio for relaxing and meals. Having the stand-up paddleboards and kayak available was very nice. The cottage was very clean and the outdoor shower was very nice. Ceiling fans throughout kept the cottage comfortably cool. Gagan and Samieh were great hosts. Overall, this cottage provided a super getaway for our entire family. Highly recommended!

| Our family of five just spent a lovely week at this adorable cottage north of Bayfield. My husband and I in our 50s and three teenagers so the steps were no problem at all. The deck Is beautiful and well equipped with seating options. There is a large bathroom with lovely shower not generally seen in cottages. The kitchen is well equipped with a large fridge and gas stove. At first my husband was concerned with the size of the barbecue but it had even heat distribution and did the job. The cottage is situated with easy access to Goderich and Bayfield and the kids went to Grandbend for a quick trip one day too. The most amazing part of this cottage is the stunning views and easy private beach access. Its so quiet and peaceful. Our Boxer loved his long morning walks! Communication with the hosts was quick and informative. Would absolutely stay here again!

| This is a very comfortable and well equipped cottage in a perfect location on beautiful Lake Huron. The cottage is spacious inside and has a large deck, with comfortable seating and dining area, overlooking the water. The outdoor shower is fantastic. Swimming is excellent (bring water shoes). Having paddle boards and a kayak to use made our kids very happy. Groceries are only 15 minutes away. Goderich is a lovely town with an excellent farmers' market on Saturday mornings. Our hosts were kind and helpful and responded promptly to our questions. We will be recommending this place to our friends and family.

| We had the best time. Everything was amazing - lighting in the outdoor shower, so many kitchen tools, fantastic cook wear! The beach was rocky but e we only had 1 person walk past. The paperboards and kayak were great! It was super cool to see the HUGE rocks in such clear water. The owners were the BEST! Great communication. I can't say enough about the place.
