The Keewaydin Cove Cottage on Kennisis Lake is nothing short of awesome. The bungalow cottage was originally built in 1957 and lifted and renovated in 2002 creating a walkout basement to the lakefront. The professionally landscaped fire-pit area offers plenty of flat useable space for games such as horseshoes and badminton right on the water's edge. There is deep water off the dock as well as shallow entry to the lake on the smooth out crops of bedrock. The cottage is positioned on the pristine shores of Kennisis Lake on a Canadian Shield lot with natural granite outcrops. The cottage is slightly elevated and perched proudly to take advantage of the expansive big lake views and southwest skies to take in breathtaking sunsets. If you are looking for privacy, tranquility & relaxation, you will need to look no further! Boasting rich hardwood flooring and pine beams throughout, our little sanctuary comfortably sleeps 6 across three bedrooms - one queen size bedroom, a bedroom with a trundle bunk bed system, and a king bedroom with large picture windows of the lake and its own private walkout. The Keewaydin Cove cottage on Kennisis Lake features an open plan living area with vaulted ceilings and windows at every turn! The interior is flooded with natural daylight to make for a light, easy & breezy stay. The kitchen comes fully equipped with all of the small & large appliances including a stainless-steel gas stove and dishwasher. The kitchen is also equipped with all the utensils needed to create delicious meals to share with family and friends. Basic spices, olive oil, tea & coffee are provided with compliments. There is also a gas BBQ and all the necessary utensils on the expansive 800 square foot wrap around deck. Enjoy dining on the deck, or just relax and enjoy the views and a good book on the comfy outdoor upholstered furniture.
The main bathroom is just off of the living area, and there is a second full bathroom and a full laundry room on the lower level.
Kennisis Lake is part of a 2-lake chain system that is carved in the rugged Canadian Shield boasting towering trees, rocky outcrops, scattered islands and miles of boating. Pristine waters are ideal for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing and fishing. The Kennisis Lake Marina offers essential groceries, ice-cream, and a coffee bar. At the marina there are Pickleball courts and the famous Smoke-On The-Water licensed restaurant, offering delicious food, cold beverages and live entertainment. Keewaydin Cove cottage is just minutes from the 100,000-acre Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve with its groomed hiking, cross-country skiing and snowmobile trails, and dog sledding and tree-top trekking for the true enthusiasts. The Haliburton Forest is also home of the world-famous Wolf Observatory. Sir Sam's Downhill Ski Resort is only a 20-minute scenic drive away.

| Keewaydin Cove is a special space. One to make memories. We feel so fortunate to have spent a beautiful and relaxing family week up on Kennisis Lake.
The cottage itself is stocked with all the comforts of home and what you'd want and need for an effortless getaway. Comfy beds. Clean. Easy to come together to play a board game and also to separate for a quiet moment.
Mark and Jackie are wonderful hosts. They truly make you feel welcome and that they're happy to have you experience their little piece of cottage heaven. Any odd questions we had - were answered quickly.
The local Boshkung Smokehouse was an enjoyable take out meal 12 minutes away.
The marina is just down the road (9 mins) have a coffee bar and ice cream parlour along with a cute store with odds and ends, rentals and pickle ball courts.
We visited the Wolf Centre and saw some of the current pack of 5.
There's a market on Tuesdays and Saturdays in Haliburton that's quite big.
Preferred the grocery run to the Independent.
We already know we're coming back next year!

| We had a wonderful time at Keewaydin Cove. It's one of the nicest cottages we have rented over the past few years. It is clean, roomy, well equipped, has comfortable beds, gorgeous views of the lake, deep water off the dock - lovely swimming with no weeds, lots of water toys, excellent fire pit area - honestly the perfect place for some R & R.
Mark was extremely quick to respond to any emails and resolved a couple minor issues for us very quickly. A truly fantastic host!
We hope to stay here again.
Some Tips:
It's hard to tell from the photos, but there are 2 large living areas - one at ground level, and another with a TV and gas stove at the basement walkout level.
We brought tin foil, dish soap, dish scrubby, paper towel, kleenex, salt and pepper, spices, cutting boards and sharp knives, but we did NOT need to. All of these things were available and plentiful at the cottage.
On a rainy day, we went to the wolf reserve - I recommend you call ahead and ask if the wolves are visible, as sometimes they are not. We were very lucky as it was feeding day, but apparently they only get fed every 5 days!
We enjoyed an amazing meal at the Boshkung Smokehouse - soooo good!
The bay to the left of the dock (facing out towards the lake) is very calm, so we were able to paddle around even when the wind made the open lake too choppy.
The marina store does not have much on offer - just very basic supplies.

| Our family just returned from a fantastic week at Keewaydin Cove.
There was plenty of room in the cottage for all of us and the cottage was well stocked with everything we needed.
Although there was a fire ban currently in place during our stay, the fire pit area is beautiful and the all day sunny dock was the perfect place to hang out all day!

| My group and I had a very pleasurable experience at Keeywadin Cove. The cottage is very clean, modern and well appointed. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with the necessary pots, pans, dishes, glassware, cutlery and large/small appliances. Mark is a very amiable host and does his utmost to ensure a pleasant trouble-free stay. It's a beautiful property on a exceptionally nice lake.
I highly recommend spending time there if you get the chance.

| This was my fourth stay at Keewaydin Cove and I have just booked next year's visit! Mark and Jackie provide a well-appointed, comfortable, and well-maintained oasis that my family and I absolutely love.
