This beautiful Muskoka region, which is located about 2.5 hrs. north of Toronto, has received the attention of National Geographic magazine. It ranked Muskoka in the top 10 places to vacation. People from all over the world come to Muskoka to enjoy what the region has to offer.
Skeleton Lake is the fourth largest lake in Muskoka, yet, by far the quietest. Enjoy a large lake experience without the boat traffic. It is one of the most pristine lakes in Canada, and is often considered the jewel of Muskoka. Many cottagers love this spring-fed lake for its crystal clear water. It is the perfect spot for swimming, boating, canoeing, sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, and snorkeling.
This newly built cottage is located right at the water's edge, nestled in a quiet bay with a hard packed sandy beach with shallow entry. Perfect for children or playing beach volleyball in the water.
The main cottage sleeps 10. It has 2 king beds, 1 queen bed and a set of bunk beds. Two of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. The property also has 2 beautiful glamping tents that overlook the lake. One of the tents has a queen bed, a Nespresso maker and a ceiling fan. The other one has 2 twin beds, and a ceiling fan.
There is plenty to do at the lake. Whether you're relaxing, reading a book on the dock or out enjoying the water, there's plenty to do at the Lake. The cottage is equipped with 2 kayaks, 2 paddle boards and 2 canoes. Enough for everyone's enjoyment.
If you enjoy fishing, the lake is well stocked with Walleye, Lake Trout, Whitefish and Smallmouth Bass.
There is also a large sand filled sports court that can be used for badminton or Spike Ball. (Shown in 6th pic)
Enjoy a dedicated area with a large fire pit and plenty of seating for those cooler evenings or just wanting to tell tall tales, while roasting marshmallows.
A large Weber barbecue is also provided for outdoor grilling.
This cottage is in close proximity to many golf courses, hiking trails, and unique shops. For your convenience, there's a general store and LCBO only 10 minutes away. If you are wanting to venture out to shop or eat, the village of Rosseau is a worth while drive and only 15 minutes away. There you will find an iconic legend, the Rosseau General Store, built in 1874. Accompanying many local items is a full assortment of produce, a butcher counter, ice cream parlour, fresh baked goods and more. If you are wanting to experience some of the best dining experiences in Muskoka, Crossroads Restaurant, overlooking Lake Rosseau is opened for lunch and dinner. By far, our favourite restaurant. Red Leaves Resort by Marriott is about a half hour drive and has 3 restaurants and a wellness spa.
There's an abundance of things to do while in Muskoka, however, once you arrive at the cottage, I doubt that you'll ever want to leave the lake.
