| This cottage is just perfect! The dock is huge and gets lots of sun, while the treed property provides beautiful shadier spots for when you need a break from the heat. The property is quintessential cottage, with lots of neat areas for the kids to explore, and a beautiful tree with the perfect branch to enjoy a book on overlooking the water. The cottage is nice and close to the dock, so it's not a problem when you want to run in for a drink (or when you forget to bring something down with you!). It's in a sheltered bay so that even when it's windier on the main lake it's nice and calm at the dock, with minimal boat traffic for tranquility. The water was clear and warm, and the big dock perfect for sunning or playing games. The fire pit is well done and firewood was available, saving the hassle of bringing it. Our kids loved exploring the property and finding and building fairy homes! The cottage itself is beautiful, clean, and decorated beautifully, yet still feels like a 'cottage'. It's just the size a small family needs & has all the supplies you need. The table has a beautiful view of the lake and is the perfect family game spot on a rainy day. It's great to have the dishwasher so more time spent relaxing, and the bathroom is a good size for a cottage and nice & clean. Having the second beverage fridge was helpful too. We loved exploring the lake in the canoe, and it's close to the public dock if you bring your own boat. You'll have a great vacation here!

Owner response: Sharlene, Thanks so much for taking the time to write a lovely review. We LOVE the fairy homes that the girls made and have kept them for others to enjoy as well. We hope that we can have the privilege of hosting your beautiful family again! Much appreciated! Cheryl & Jim

| We had a wonderful time at Cheryl and Jim's beautiful cottage! It is located in a quiet bay on Eel's Lake and the huge dock was fabulous to sit on throughout the day and in the evening to watch the sunsets. We enjoyed using the canoe to paddle in the area, and it was so serene. The cottage itself was very clean, newly renovated and had everything we needed. Thanks Cheryl and Jim! Your cottage is a real gem and we highly recommend it to anyone wishing to rent an idyllic vacation spot.

| A beautiful little cottage on a gorgeous lake. Everything is newly finished but they did a great job of keeping the character of the old cottage. Huge dock gets afternoon sun so you can play or relax on the water all afternoon. The owners were fabulous...hand-delivered a corkscrew for us in our time of need! Would definitely stay here again!
There are stairs from the parking to the cottage (for those with mobility issues).

Owner response: Thanks so much Tracy! It was a pleasure hosting and meeting you, your husband and friends. The corkscrew was a fair trade for the shooters! Thanks! Hope to see you again next year.

| Stonehill was the perfect getaway for us. The cottage is newly renovated and immaculate. The onwers clearly put a lot of thought into make sure guests are comfortable and feel at home.
As noted in the ad, there are stairs from the parking area to the cottage but once you've done those, there is no looking back. Access from the cottage to the lake is easy. We were very fortunate and had beautiful weather during our stay and spent the majority of our time on the MASSIVE dock (which is in full sun from about 1 p.m. until sunset). Speaking of sunsets, they're pretty stunning from this location and basically set right in front of you.
Kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need for meals, bathroom is beautiful, and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen table (both inside and out) offer plenty of space to enjoy meals or a games.
The owners Jim and Cheryl were absolutely LOVELY and took great care of us, making sure we had extra flashlights during a brief power outage (happens in cottage country).
The lake, well it's beautiful. We highly recommend taking some time to paddle around, it's relatively calm and easy to navigate. If you are someone who enjoys walking, the walk from the cottage to the boat launch/ main road is about 6km. It's a good one but bring bug spray! We had the chance to see two adorable fawns and the Mom.
It's a beautiful spot and we will absolutely be back next year - we're already looking forward to it.
