Our Cottage Horizon is a cozy family cottage nestled on the shore of Little Bald Lake near Bobcaygeon and Buckhorn. With a large deck overlooking the water and a BBQ to cook tasty dinners, you and your guests will enjoy swimming, fishing, our 2 sit-on-top kayaks, canoe and floating tubes. We also have a large Lilypad floating water mat for playing in the water and lying in the sun (see photo). We have two large docks and a dock ladder to make exiting the lake easier. Bring your own boat or jet ski to tie up at our docks (Oak Shores Marina boat launch is around the corner) or rent from Buckeye Marina in Bobcaygeon and drive the boat across Pigeon Lake to our cottage. Don't forget to get ice cream at the Original Kawartha Dairy in Bobcaygeon. Yum! There is great fishing for largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, walleye and perch. One of the best spots is right off the dock. We have a 42" TV, internet and lots of DVDs. With 2 bedrooms in the cottage, a separate Bunkie and 6 parking spaces, this 8 sleeper cottage is great for young families. What's in the Area We are near Peterborough, Lindsay and Lakefield. Take our tubes to the Lazy River at the Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park and slowly float down this crystal clear natural river with your kids. View Indigenous rock carvings in the Petroglyphs Provincial Park or visit the Curve Lake First Nation Cultural Centre and Miskwaa studio and outdoor gallery. Thinking about the Buckhorn Art Festival in August, we are just 20 minutes away and you can stop at Sandy Lake Beach on the way home as it has tons of shallow sandy bottom swimming. Heading to Boatapalooza on Pigeon Lake or just like cruising? We are on the Trent-Severn waterway so you can boat through Lock 32 in Bobcaygeon to Sturgeon Lake and beyond or just enjoy watching all the action at the lift locks. We are a 30 minute boat ride to Bobcaygeon and a 20 minute drive. FAQ's We have a fully stocked kitchen with microwave, stove, kettle, Keurig, coffee maker, toaster, fridge, water cooler, utensils, pots and frying pans, bowls, sharp knives, pizza tray and salt and pepper. The BBQ is outside the kitchen and we provide 1 can of propane. All you need to bring is food , condiments, foil and plastic wrap. Email if you have any questions regarding what is available.
We provide 2 jugs of water for the water cooler, 2 paper towel rolls, 8 rolls of 2 ply toilet paper, cleaning supplies and bed linens if needed. Please bring your own towels and shower things. You cannot drink the tap water. Please use the cooler water for all drinking and cooking.
We provide a hair dryer, hand soap and a hand towel in the bathroom. The 3 piece bath has a shower stall, sink and RV toilet that flushes with a foot peddle. Our hot water tank is tiny and sits under the kitchen sink, so your showers will be lovely and warm but not necessarily long. I think the current record is 5 minutes. Please bring your own towels and shower things.
We provide garbage and recycling bags but do not dispose of your garbage. It is your responsibility to take it home with you.
We rent weekly during the summer but contact us to see if we can accommodate your needs.
We have adult lifejackets, but you will need to bring lifejackets for your kids.
Don?t forget your sunscreen and bug spray 1 can provided).
For your convenience, we have provided fans in every room for those warm summer nights.
The lake is about 9 feet deep (gradual entrance) and lovely and warm. The Lily Pad, tubes, and sit-on kayaks will provide you with plenty of fun water activities. There are some weeds which we clear around the docks. Kayaking to the swinging rope is also a great place to swim (ask us how to get there).
Email us if you have any questions and enjoy your stay!

| Spectacular view. Lots of Privacy, perfect place for a cottage. My 6 year old had the time of her life on the giant blue water pad. Also, surrounded by lots of trees so nice and cool inside the cottage. Bobcaygeon is about a 15 minute drive where there is a small beach and grocery store, even a Tim Hortons. I will miss looking out the window at that view while doing the dishes :)

| Our stay at Horizon Cottage was absolutely amazing. The cottage is cozy, well equipped, and emits a real sense of Canadian charm. The property is private, and has lots of room for outdoor relaxation, and entertaining. Plus, there's an endless supply of cottage toys, books, games, kayaks, for entertainment. Both Ruth, and Alyson were wonderful hosts. Thanks for the great week, we hope to see you next year!

| My two teenage daughters and I spent a lovely week here, reading on the dock, and canoeing and kayaking around Little Bald Lake. The fishing was super fun, and the cottage had all the amenities we needed. Lots of outdoor space to sit in either the sun or shade. The water was super warm for those who want to go for a dip, too. Highly recommend heading into Buckhorn for some ice cream, if you're in the area! Thanks to the hosts for sharing your cottage with us. Joe, Elsa and Annie

| We had such a lovely stay at Horizon. From start to finish, things were so smooth and pleasant. The cottage itself is cosy, well-equipped and has so many great little touches, it felt like a second home away from home. We were very comfortable as two adult couples and found the lake relaxing and serene. The dock gets so much sun and is such a great place to hang out during the day. We were very impressed with how well equipped and modern all the amenities inside and available, nothing was overlooked, we felt very taken care of. It's an easy recommendation and a must-book for future summer plans.
Thanks for such a wonderful Holiday Horizon team!
